Holy shit I commented on this 9 years ago. I have this song and I think about this video every single time and had to come back and watch it once more. It makes me so happy to see the wonderful Patrick Troughton introducing this video, my favorite Doctor. This is just a wonderfully edited and timed video and I love how much love you give to each Doctor. Just brilliant!
I remember the first one- I loved it so much. It was my favourite of favourite fan vids. I used to watch it for hours on end. Hope this one is just as good.
I've turned this (incredible) vid into a game- I try to call out the character or the episode each clip is from as it appears on-screen. So far, no one has beat me at this game. I am proud of this, and I LOVE this video!
It certainly did not switch Too rapidly! Some vids at times can do that, and this one verily didn't. It was all wonderfully balanced and went to the beat, without losing the visuals. A very nice video. And the lovely Troughton! That's a great clip! I also really liked the 'rumbling' and 'hard to steer' references to the Tardis, that whimsical old girl.. ;) Thanks for making this.
This is still the best fan video I've ever seen -- in any fandom. Let's be real: Most fan videos aren't that good. I can't imagine the time it took you to put this together.
This is amazing. Really well done, a great song, and just awesome. I love seeing all of the Doctors in one video, along with pretty much every Companion and major Villain, except you did seem to leave off Roberts!Master, Corpse!Master, and the Rani. Just something I noticed. Still, I love that you ended on Four/Romana. It's just so right. They really are the true pairing in Doctor Who. Time Lord Love. = )
i actually had to make an effort to stop my lip from shaking! wonderufl vid, great choice of song and you used some of the BEST clips from the new and old series...loved it!
Bah, I love this one, even better than the first. I think you chose some slightly more affecting shots for some of the lines in the song. I love how Three's 'broken car' is now his TARDIS and how you showed Sarah Jane's 'future made'. Those were just two highlights for me among many. :)
It's brilliant , and yet strange that it all started with something you'd never get away with today; a couple of teachers following a fifteen-year-old girl home.
I kind of miss the first one you did, Calapine, but this is brilliant too. You were the first person to connect this song with Doctor Who, weren't you? It's perfect. I picked up that album because of your fanvid.
Wow. Excuse me while I get my n00b self some more Classic Who. This vid is already amazing with my small knowledge of old series. I bet it would be a million times better after I shotgun a bunch of old episodes.
Brilliant, you must have gigs worth of clips hanging around to put all this together, and it's edited wonderfully (something which must have taken ages). Marvellous work.
Wonderful, felt the greater structure ie all the scenes of the Doctor versus the Master together, events on Gallifrey, all the Doctor reunions worked really well. Only criticism (constructive I hope)was some of the clips passed too quickly before I could even tell what they were
Well you could quibble about minor things (as it seems some people have) but all in all a fantastic job. Excellent work and I know just how hard and time consuming that would've been to put together. Love the song too. Kudos to you and I edit for a living.
What a nice thing to wake up to! I wasn't anticipating any more videos from you until the new season. As usual, nice editing and a great selection of moments - and did you do something different with the encoding? It looks a lot sharper than usual.
That's exactly what I was trying to say. But it seems I chose my words in the wrong way. Well, at least someone else saw what I was trying to explain. :D either way, it's a wicked cool video!!!
I'd like to echo what @farshnuke said. Babelcolour- THE Babelcolour- did a DW tribute to this song and this one still absolutely holds its own against it- is an equal to it- is still my favorite DW fanvid ever. Wow.
I liked the first version better, personally. Least I'm pretty sure I did; hard to tell when you've taken it down. I'd still favorite them both though.
I know it has been years but is there any trace of the original What About Everything fanvid with the first doctors speech. My kids and I watched it hundreds of times when they were small and Id like to see it again.
I liked the video overall and some great clips. Your obviously a terrific video editor. The only thing I noticed is that in the whole second half of the video there's hardly one clip or close-up of Tom Baker's iconic Doctor #4. But yet there is multiple clips of Doctors #2,#3,#5-#8 as well as #10. Don't get me wrong.....I like all the Doctors but I feel bad for Tom's Doctor..... especially being the longest running and having so many iconic episodes. I counted up the clips of each one. It just seems like Tom gets short changed in some of these videos of the different Doctors. Nice video though. God bless.
it's a little bit too literal, but it's a common, easy trap for fanvideos to fall into. sometimes it's just too tempting! and I feel like the clips always changed too fast. Enjoyable and fitting, however. :)
U know there was one thing that i was quite wrong about. I said the other one was the best thing ive ever seen... Sorry this one tops it, but only just...
Hi Calapine. So like, I loved your first version so much, I DLed it. May I re-UL it to my account? (goes without saying that you'd be credited). It had a bittersweetness to it no one else has managed to capture, and I wish I could share it with my FB friends.
now now, be nice. there's no need for insults. its a free country and critizm can be taken to anyone who cares to listen. Besides, I said it was cool. which is why I gave it 5 stars either way. :)
@CrazyCarl1992 Boy, have you missed out! Where have you been, hidding in a cave somewhere? Doctor Who is the longest running Science Fiction TV series ever, older than even Star Trek. In 2013 Doctor Who will be 50 years old, I wonder what the BBC will do to celebrate that?
