Its implied that as a god, Barbatos is pretty near omniscient since he hears anything that is being carried on the wind (for example Venti knowing who the MC is before they even meet, Venti knowing every single song that exists, past, present and future and his oft-repeated lines about 'stories carried on the wind' which is also the motto written on the Thousand Winds Temple). Since wind is virtually everywhere, that would imply that Venti knows almost everything that has happened or will happen. That kinda does put his alcoholism in perspective. As a sidenote, in the Chinese beta version of the game, Venti was actually the narrator for the intro and other cutscenes. Really the deeper you dive into Venti lore, the more sus he becomes. Why does he always hide so much information from us? Why does he never give a straight answer to any questions? Why do we never see any other 'wind spirit' like what Venti claims to have been before ascending? Where did he come from? Who is he really? Why did he say he was "one of a thousand winds", when 'Thousand Winds' refers to the god of time? Why is his statue in Mondstat a sundial? Why does it point at the spatial rift? Why is he trying so hard to look cute, weak and innocent? What are his goals? It is driving me crazy. And the only answer Venti ever gives is "Hehe~" Fucking trickster gods man.

I don't think he can, because he doesn't exactly have his own freedom (which was hinted or said at one point, by his dragon friend he called "Dyvalin" or whatever).... And with these people say that Barbara is a minor and Venti is 2600+ years old and it's illegal, the characters are fictional, and these people may have never seen a similar anime couple trope. There's too many anime with a similar premise, a supernatural/god/higher being shipped with a young human. Fun fact, some of them are younger (technically a minor) than Barbara should be in canon. And what's weird, no one complained in those ships because they were the focus of their respective shows, it just happens that Genshin Impact is full of well-developed characters with equal importance. I love this ship because not only it has chemistry (over music and having fun, imagine, Venti trying to whisk Barbara from her work to convince her to not overwork herself have fun for once) and fluff potential, but it also has angst potential (imagine, an immortal seeing a mortal loved one grow old and die while the immortal just watched their loved one's life faded away in their eyes , and they had to cherish the memories they shared while they were still together).

@@alitheakorogane yea, I do see the dynamic. That's why I ship Barbara and Barbatos. It has a unique at the same time common feel to it. And also, Venti is childish in a childish body. He rarely acts mature and feels like a teen, same with Barbara.

As a shipper of supernatural/extraordinary x normal human trope, VenBara was the one who captured my heart in Genshin because of their cute chemistry. They look like the combination of my ships in other fandoms: = Shinichi/Conan x Ran of Detective Conan for denseness (both Ran and Barbara adored someone they never knew was just beside them disguised) = Yato x Hiyori of Noragami for the similar god x human/worshipper trope and age gap (both Yato and Venti are gods who likes to drink and is always broke, and lost someone important in their lives in their past...while Hiyori and Barbara are both human girls who just wanted to be like their elders, with Hiyori wanted to please her parents while Barbara wanted to be like her older sis). Fun fact, Hiyori can be considered younger than Barbara (if she's really a minor), since Hiyori's technically 15. = Koro-sensei x Aguri of Assassination Classroom for the fluff potential and found family dynamics. It was in reverse, Aguri is a hard working woman like Jean, but like Barbara, she likes to make people smile and help them. Aguri has an actress younger sister, Akari/Kaede, who is like Barbara with artistic talent, cute pigtails and bubbly personality (although for Kaede's case, it was originally a pretend). Venti and Koro-sensei was similar to the fault: happy-go-lucky, had great power and loneliness hiding in a wide smile, has a mysterious dark past under a cheerful persona, being called "tone-deaf" by peers (in Koro-sensei's case, it's because he's a literal tone-deaf), likes to see their now found families happy, while being broke, childish and kinda annoying.

If u ask me I don’t think Barbara is a nun🤔 But yet again I don’t know what deaconess means 👍😭 And in human years provided how venti acts then he isn’t old at all😶

​@@Arc.ZIn Mondstadt, they dress like nuns but function as priestesses (like being able to hear confessions, which nuns ,don't do irl), and Barbara is basically a high ranking one among them (which is the exact opposite of a deacon in Christianity, who is a step below an actual priest). So, people who don't even how nuns work keep equating Barbatos to Jesus and making this ship more awkward than it needs to be.
