I met LaGrand Richards as a young missionary in 1978. At the time he was the oldest Apostle in the quorum of the 12. He was the last general the give his talks uncensored. Most of his talks were given without a lot of notes. Of all the General Authorities I met he was the most down to earth and sincerely genuine. He had a great sense of humor. He never let his possession in the church go to his head. He would poke fun at himself for being long winded, he was well known for giving talks that would continue past his allotted time limit..
I translated way back when below the tabernacle... (English-Portuguese) and as I recall, Elder Richards was one who never gave you his talk ahead of time! It was 100% spontaneous and by the spirit!
One of the greatest! The mature wisdom of a twice bereaved parent and bereaved grandparent is given to those of us who are similarly situated. After 41 years membership in this club none of us wanted to be in, I have to agree Legrand Richards was just keeping it 100.
TENS of THOUSANDS of temples will be abroad??? YIKES! We need to build DOUBLE TIME so we can get this done with 👷♂️👷♀️ Meanwhile, Bro. Richards has a SOLID testimony having lost kids and a grandkid prematurely, and STILL being lovingly GRATEFUL to our Father in Heaven. He's DEFINITELY one of my HEROES 🙏🏼👍🏻💪🏼🌟
