I love everything about this series. Genius writing, brilliant cast who deliver in every episode. Ricky Gervais at his very best as well as Penelope Winton. We all love people and we all lose people so we all experience grief and loss. This incredible series takes you by the hand and helps you to deal with it when it is your turn to deal with grief. And for those of you in the throes of grief, I wish that your grief will someday be replaced with peace.

Grief is a crazy thing, it’s evil but beautiful. I lost my brother in law in a horrific way as a young man, we had a an argument on the night before he died. I miss him, I love him. See you soon my brother
I've just lost my mum four weeks ago and I know I haven't grieved yet although the odd moment of crying and watching the loss of his wife really made me think and feel about the grieving process.😢❤xx
I have struggled with greif for 14 years since I lost my father to cancer and diabetes. Its nice to know there are people like Gervais out there making shows that show its ok to laugh even in grief.
I don't talk about my grief as I can never get the words out. Such a heart warming great show. Ricky at his very best. So relatable if you have lost a loved one.
What I especially like about Gervais,and Merchant too,is that they think and write so deeply,across various subjects. I loved Life's Too Short and Extras. This one is exceptional too but darker.
I wish we had more series and movies like this that show the human deep emotion and solution for not having some good feelings to get them back again. Ricky Gervais is a genius and he really cares about everything that can help other's life happier and better even he always says I don't care or who cares. In April 2021, my husband of 21 years died of complications of COPD. After his funeral I was sitting at home in grief when I stumbled upon this show. I couldn't watch it the first two season all at once. I watch an episode and go away for a few weeks and then come back. At the six month point in my grief, I sat down and binged the first two season because emotionally I was ready. They gave me the motivation to seek counseling to manage my grief and for that I will be eternally grateful. When season 3 was released, I was at the same point in my grief as the character and I related so well to him at that point. Now, nearly 10 months since my loss, I have started to live again. Thank you Mr. Gervais for this wonderful and real series. Perfect ending by the way.
Been waiting since last year for the new season I didn't want to watch it I was keeping it for a rainy day to hell I watched excellent I'll be watching it over and over again thankyou xxx
I’ve watched this show it’s helped me immensely since my husband passed away I want to get my sons to watch this show as we can’t yet talk about our loss as it’s tooo hard.
This is one of the best series i have watched in quite some time. The way humor, sadness, grief, love, anger and etc are woven so incredibly beautiful together is fuhken' amazing work.
This series exposed how real people deal with grief and every day life. Nothing Hollywood about it. Just real life. Real people. Real pain. This has become one of my favourite series.
This series made me laugh and cry in equal measures. When both my parents died of cancer I had survival guilt and could not spend the money. Now I realise it can be used to make others happy and memories , that is the gift. We are all just passing through , and doing our best , just do good deed for others , you may be surprised by the results.......
When I lost my cat Julian I like Tony did not want to live. But I had another cat who did not know how to "open cans." I also found some solace in this piece of writing by George Saunders: “All gifts are temporary. I unwillingly surrender this one. And thank you for it. God. Or world. Whoever it was gave it to me, I humbly thank you, and pray that I did right by him, and may, as I go ahead, continue to do right by him. Love, love, I know what you are.” I now have two cats and I live for them but I still miss Julian and every day I try to do right by him. But I still miss Julian and I always will
I love Ricky and I LOVEEEE this series!! So profound, funny , beautiful! explains How to live your life better moment after moment, because we're here now, but no one knows for how long, and you must love, laugh, cry, be kind, be angry, and feel every emotion close in your heart and enjoy it, even the bad things are important because if you're always happy, you never know what its meaning, if you don't prove the pain, the grief, you don't understand how meaningful and important is every single moment of your life. Thanks to Ricky for this amazing beautiful series. Only a kind heart could do something like that, despite what people says about him!
This show was outstanding! A few of my favourites like Roisin and Joe in semi-serious comedic roles. It also helped quite a bit during a personal loss while still getting some prime Gervais and Godliman. Bosh! 😁😁

I watched all 3 series a couple of times now, laughing, crying and just generally putting myself in his shoes,I lost my dad a month ago and it hurts and I don't know how to feel.this show is helping me.
You seem like a child. So you probably wouldn’t understand the show or the point of it. And if your not. Then maybe you should try understand it. Or not.
Maybe because the issues dealt with in the series hasn't affected you yet. I once was that way, had not a care in the World. Nothing stays the same though, but when it does that's when we find out we are ill prepared to cope with adversity .
