I finally checked my updated Ancestry DNA results! I think they’re going to update them yearly...maybe idk lol. Also, Disregard the background noise I didn’t have my microphone plugged in😩
Doing ones dna test is part of knowing your history. As a result you end up learning more about history and the geography of particular regions of interest as you try and figure out how you ended up with dna from there. I think its very educational plus you find relatives.
Interesting....there's a lot of confusion around the "middle eastern" and "north african" categories. I think they might be referring to "Berber" populations.
@Review Sam Yes, but remember, Cushitic populations do have a strong ancient west Asian dna component so that Middle Eastern came from her Ethiopian/Eritrean/Somali ancestry. Some bantu peoples specificially the Kikuyu, Tutsi and Masaii( Nilotic) mixed with Cushitic populations.
@Review Sam but look, exactly...that's what I said somehow, I won't write as much as you did...which was close to an essay...if we talk about the length of it... But yes exactly, the Middle-Eastern ancestry is indeed very present amongst East Africans...reason why it showes...therefore shouldn't disappear after any kind of updates...which means that (Ethiopians, Somalis and other East Africans bare it) that being said, it originally remains a Middle-Eastern marker...I bet that if she upload her results to gedmatch, it'll come up as it did in her previous test...reason why I'd rely more on companies that show more consistency...
@Review Sam Middle-Easterners been there forever, the area's name wasn't the same but its population been there... The First Farners ( Natufians, Anatolians, West Hunterer Gatherers and Ancient Iranians ) been in the area as Sedentary groups that started agriculture for at least the last12k years...
Congratulations on your Blacker than Black, Blacker than Black, Blacker than Black, Blacker than Black, Blacker than Black African results... You kept it 💯... My African 93% My European 7% (My Great Great Great Grandfather on my Mother’s paternal line was White). So what that means is I’m just Blacker than Black, Blacker than Black African...😜
This proves that the modern Kenyan tribes fully assimilated some indigenous tribes. Don't forget bantus came in and found some natives, who don't exist today. They most probably were hamitic as people's from the horn are the indigenous east africans. Also some Nilotes.
@pm really?! Doubt it, kambas dispersed from the other eastern bantus, therefore they share an origin. If kambas were gatherers in tz so were the rest. They weren't, infact I think kikuyus assimilated more gatherers than kambas, as far as I can trace. Nyeri and meru were inhabited by forest people (nilotes)who got assimilated. Kambas are pure Bantu.
@@mikailm6934 that's not the standard , you cannot make that general assumption. I agree on the Kikuyu being nilotic especially because of the forest tribes like in nyeri and meru. But not on the kambas, wide area.
Veronica Haney I’m Ethiopian with no Eurasian Dna in me lol . So don’t assume all Ethiopians because ethiopia is diverse with many different ethnicities and cultures , as well as language groups . Ethiopia has it all ( Cushitics , Semetics , Nilotics , Omotics , and even Bantus ) .
Bat today there is actually said to be unstudied Bantu tribes in Ethiopia according to Ethnologist and Historians . Not all of Ethiopia has even been ventured through as there is some land in SNNPR , Benishangul - Gumez , and some of Gambella hasn’t been ventured through and therefore the possibility is still there . There is also a Bantu community in Southern Ogaden that is unknown and said to be just Somalis but are actually Somali Bantus that have escaped Somalia centuries ago . Although there is said to be Mijikenda people who lived in Ogaden a few centuries ago before they were displaced by Oromo people . There is also a Kenyan Bantu tribe called the Meru t are said to originate from the south Ethiopian highlands according to the Meru and their Folklore .
@@soupgod1448 wrong, somalis weren't even Kenya, they went there recently by pushing back the Borana. Other dna studies show the cushite related dna in Great Lakes valley region is distinct to Somali and closer to southern cushites like the Iraqw
@@mikailm6934 Somalis have always been around north eastern Kenya for hundreds of years borana only date to a few years in areas below Marsabit after they moved their because of conflicts with other tribes so boranas are the new comers not Somalis Also there's no single cushite DNA, boranas are classified under Ethiopian and Eritrean while Somalis with their own classification, I'm not sure about iraqw and other extinct cushite tribes but I'm guessing they would be classified with the Ethiopians judging from what Tutsis get in their DNA results and since Tutsis are descended from assimilated now extinct cushites groups similar to iraqw So you are wrong, do your research
@@mikailm6934 also she's from the Kikuyu tribe who are geographically close to both boranas and Somalis hence why it's not uncommon to find Kikuyus with one or both in their DNA
@@jay-dok2258 no we're not. The genetic and behavioural differences make us all different. Kenya is not and won't be an ethno state for the foreseeable future. Being different doesn't mean war, it's just the truth. Nilotes are very dark and lanky. The opposite of Bantus, nilotes also have wide noses.
@@jay-dok2258 technically no, Africans are the most diverse group on earth. The only reason we're all the same race is coz of the sun. The genetic distance between for example a Swahili Kenyan and an Igbo is larger than a German is to all indo europeans.
Ancestry and 23andme are one in the same I don't believe these tests. It's sucks cause African Americans need to do the African Ancestry test its more accurate.
T-MUSTAFA 33 Greetings. African Ancestry only provides information on your mtDNA, the unbroken maternal line which only accounts for less than 2 percent of your total genome. All other companies provide estimates of your ancestral makeup from both parents, the autosomal test. Also, no autosomal test result is the least accurate; they just provide estimates. Cousin matches on the other hand are accurate and people should be studying their matches to learn about their ancestors.
@@001islandprincess so is African Ancestry accurate. I did my maternal. I'm a u6a.. they claim my mothers line is European.. but their are more traces in Africa like east and north west Africa. Uhh
Why would they update and remove the Semitic Hebrew/Israelite DNA they had initially put there??? Shouldn't they narrow it down to specific areas and not remove it entirely??? Reason why am very skeptical and suspicious of these DNA companies from mzungus!
not so surprised that you have somali your mom looks horn african you are both beautiful i have heard kikuyu are beautiful people black people are beautiful
But Kenyan doesn't tell the full story. I think the tests were better when they went back further and broke down the genetic components more. Kenyan doesn't mean anything really because different populations have been mixing in Kenya for thousands of years hence her Cushitic and Khoi/San (Hunter gatherer) ancestry. Unfortunately, people didn't understand the early results and how to interpret the information so now they just bunch a whole bunch of groups together and call it Kenyan or East African or whatever. It's less useful and erases the subtle clues into one's ancestry. People don't understand that countries are just lines on a map. It doesn't tell the full genetic story. People mixed and mingled a lot.
@@MaddoxKillgore exactly.. That's just nationality dictated by colonial borders.. What I would like is the breakdown of specific tribes in the admixture
Hello Sis! Very interesting video! Just wanted to add something for you and the other brothers and sisters to think about. In the bible it explains that the 12 tribes of Israel would be disconnected from their heritage (Jeremiah 17:4), meaning their culture, customs, nationality, even their God! We are those people! The so-called Blacks, Hispanics, Natives, and the scattered remnants of our people throughout Africa, and various areas of the world! The various slave trades that we were forced to endure is documented in the Bible revealing who we are today (Deuteronomy 28:15,46, 64, 68). Furthermore, throughout this process we were scattered throughout the entire world to include the various places you have named (Kenya, Congo, Ethiopia Deuteronomy 4:27, Zephaniah 3:10, Isaiah 11:11-12). In addition, we have taken on the identities of these areas (Bantus, Cameroons, even Ethiopian Deuteronomy 28:37, Isaiah 65:15). Bottom line, we have to return to our true nationality as the Israelites, keep the commandments of God coupled with the faith of our savior Jesus Christ, and gather together as a people in order to overcome the oppression and poor estate of our people today! (Zephaniah 2:1, Deuteronomy 30:1-3). Check out the following link for more amazing information on your great and incomparable history, and learn who God says you are! israelunite.org/category/12-tribes-of-israel-today/
Lol what happened to your middle-eastern lol...?? Reason why I don't like these test updates...knowing the proximity between horners and Semitics...I guess it still stands lol
She's more than likely the horn, her features are two indigenous to be mixed with colonisers on the middle Eastern side, probably the first Arab people are apart of her line
@@ygtcmh1353 plus what people don't get is that dna doesn't work like that...it's not because it says that you do have middle-eastern dna that it'll automatically show on her nose and mouth lol...It could be the height, the forehead anything. It just means that she has middle-easterners genes within her. Same for the complexion...there are pitch Black people, who are more recently ethnically mixed than lighter ones. Dna is a lottery
Sis' that Middle-East is as real as it gets...you should upload ya results to wegene, My Heritage, gedmatch and Yourdnaportal even Mytrueancestry...you should...that "Ancestrydna" isn't that accurate yo me...specially for African descents
@Review Sam correction, part of her genome shares similarities with Middle-Easterners, yes...!! Plus it makes a lot of sense...reason why we call it "marker" because it's consistant and reliable enough to base a research upon...
@Review Sam I hear you, but the fact is that Eastern Africans, not only Horners do share similarities with Middle-Easterners/Southwest Asians/North Africans that is backed up with dna, it is what it is... it is factual, cannot be disputed it is a fact...it’s there...that’s all I’m saying...therefore we can conclude that it’s part of their genome...we both right. But I jus wanna emphasize that companies like Gedmatch, even My Heritage seem to go more in depth and are more consistent...
There is no ethnicity called Kenyan.. She is of Kikuyu ethnicity from Kenya. Kikuyu itself is composed f admixture of majority Eastern Bantu and Horn of Africa (Ethiopia/Somalia) and Nilotic DNA
Why do you put Ethiopian flags for?? Since you are not Ethiopian, why not south African or any Bantu cpuntries?? very wired....!! you don't look Ethiopian at all,you are more like congo or closrd by countries than Ethiopia or Eritrea. Ethiopia,Eritrea, somali look more Arabs.you look more Africa/Bantu.
She still has cushitic DNA. It's not about looks but genetics. Furthermore alot of non cushites in Kenya have Horner DNA because of assimilation of hunter gatherers in east Africa who happened to be Hamitic. They had nilotic and cushitic ancestry.
@@moimoimoi2585 hahaa she is mugikuyu . I am a bantu . I am mugikuyu . She is a bantu ..and bantu countries in east Africa are the only countries with strong government
I don’t consider any country “hell” it’s dope because beautiful people come from there and thrive! If you don’t agree you’re entitled to your option. I love the motherland though! It’s home.
Yvonne Mugure oh I didn’t say the people that come from there or bad. They’re just Third World countries with no real structure or good leader ship. Most of the countries that you named off struggle with extreme poverty, disease, starvation, etc. Extreme climates, crazy wild life, etc. I was just imagining living in one of those places and to me it would be like hell on earth. I’m sure the people are fine.
Kushite God Faraji Black people have a lot of really cool stuff in their history. I will admit I’m slightly jealous of some of it. Unlike both white people we have European ancestry which is pretty boring really. It would be awesome to find out that you’re like a distant relative of some tribe. The most I can hope for is that I’m from somewhere cool like Norway or Finland lol
