I read supplemental vitamin C is not good to take. It can aggravate arthritis. Also, I have been told that taking more E than the daily limit can increase heart attacks. I guess it's better to focus on getting it from the foods you mentioned.
@dramirkaram can i ask about your opinion on clearlift alma laser and if it causes also aging and if ipl causes aging and which growth factors would you recommend thank you
He forgot to mention Magnesium bisglycinate and d3 + k2. 😮 Free anti ageing tips: 1- stop drinking 2- stop smoking 3- drink more water 4 - increase fiber intake 5 - take Magnesium to get a good night sleep 6 - reduce your stress levels if possible 7 - sunscreen everyday Im 30 everyone thinks im 22/23.
@@claudiavillano1423 besides tumeric, I don’t take any other supplements, don’t smoke, barely drink alcohol stress has a significant place in my life, and recently I have not been drinking my water the I should be drinking it. My point, I’m 51, everyone thinks I’m in my 30s.
I find it funny when people comment how young "everyone " thinks they look, as young as a decade. Meanwhile, they look their age. If you tell them they look their age, they get insulted. Humble brag is not cute.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Mr Karam can you make a video regarding any facial creams containing Estriol or Estrodial which are flooding the internet right now targeting menopausal women who are such easy targets since any woman going through this phase of life can be very desperate and vulnerable. It is a real important topic. Nobody should bull shitted during this already challenging time in women lives. THANK YOU.
I watch these videos while I do my cardio! Dr. Karam is a wealth of information, the videos are greatly appreciated. I am 45 and along with all the common sense choices- sunscreen, no smoking, no drinking, exercise - I've been taking these supplements for years and they work. When I'm ready for my FL, I'm getting on a plane to see Dr. Karam!
I am 59 and everyone thinks I'm 40. I only take D3 with K2. B12. The rest I get out of food, I am plant based. I drink loads of water. Only skincare I use is Medik8. I prep my food and into boxing, weight training, cardio. I sleep well. Couple of months ago I did Machu Picchu. People complicate things, keep it basic ❤
Dr. Karam, this is one of your best videos. I believe there are things women and men should do before having any plastic surgery done. One of them are all the things you talk about in this video. It's important to eat right, take vitamins and supplements, exercise, and be consistent with skin care. There is another thing that is important and that we need to consider in the equation, and that is our teeth because our teeth have to do with our wellness, ex: internal organs one being, heart for example. Getting back to why this should be addressed before having plastic surgery is because we need to be consistent with the care of our teeth. If we are not brushing twice a day for approximately 2 min a day, getting dental checkups we need to ger on the band wagon with this. You don't want yellow, rotten, crooked teeth before considering plastic surgery. Take care of your teeth and all things Dr. K speaks about in this video first.
Please do a video on menopause and hormones and wrinkles, weight gain, body speeding up aging process. I know there’s a lot of concern about breast cancer and taking hormones in menopause. But I just heard something about all those studies being done ages and ages ago and the studies weren’t done correctly, so they really didn’t know if May have been candidates for getting cancer anyway. So please do a video on when a person should start taking hormones and when it may not be the best thing or if there’s a better alternative to this, and who am I person might go to to start hormone therapy. Because I’ve heard that most gynecologist don’t really know much about menopause at all. That’s the least studied portion of OB/GYN so what kind of education should a person be looking for when they’re looking for a doctor to start hormonal therapy with? As always, your videos are so informational thank you so much.
Hormonal therapy is not good. I've aligned with a company that does amazing test based nutrition that works for menopause and it's all natural products. Contact me if you want to have a look😊
I got cancer breast cancer at ages 49 .got menopause at the same time . I used to look way younger before but know with cancer and menopause I start wrinkles around my eyes and in my face.which something make me un comfortable 😢
I went through early menopause at 43-44. I’m 70 now. I’ve been taking hormones since then with gynecological approval. There are new studies that a woman can take them the remainder of her life with many benefits (breast cancer risks have been downplayed, original studies were flawed). I take bioidentical hormones. I use an estradiol skin patch replaced once week, an estradiol tablet inserted in the vagina twice a week and progesterone capsules day 1-12 of each month. If I took progesterone every day it cancelled out some of the benefits of the estradiol patch but then I wouldn’t get a period (yes at 70!).
I beg to differ. I’ve been taking bioidentical hormones since I was 44 (early menopause) with my gynecologist’s approval. I’m 70 now. New studies down play breast cancer risks (flawed original studies) and say there are many benefits taking them for life. @@lizlfranken-desousa7535
Go and listen to Dr. Mary Claire Haver MD!! She has her own channel on YT and in so many other places. She is also a guest speaker on many other’s channels. She knows her stuff and tells you how wrong the system is for women!!
I loved it!! This was such a helpful and needed video, Dr. Karam! I am equally passionate about nutrition and skincare and I find it odd that, in some communities, the two topics are completely disjointed and sometimes even taboo. We are ONE system designed to operate in sync. I love your holistic approach to beauty and commitment to health.
I do everything that Dr. Karam says. Except I make my own bone broth fot the last 15 years. I am 49. People say I look like I'm in my mid 30s. Bothers me a little. It was late 20s for a while. I contribute a lot of it to weight training since I was 17. But I'm sure everything else has helped - skin care, diet. Gave up alcohol, ultra processed food and sugar a few years ago. Make my own food. Too much crap out there. Most importantly my body feels good. But now I've entered perimenopause/ menapause. Trying to learn how to navigate this next level of life.
Thanks! I think it's awesome to admit you support taking hydrolyzed collagen even though the mechanisms aren't fully understood, it appears to be beneficial! Looking forward to continuing to learn from you about skin, health and beauty!
Thank you so much for providing clear, succinct and important information based on peer reviewed studies and your personal experience. I found your channel a few months ago and have learned so much. I appreciate a trustworthy source of information.
Just fyi: collagen can greatly increase the risk of kidney stones for kidney stone formers, so like krytonite for calcium oxylate kidney stone formers. You should include that caution when speaking about that as for those people kidney stone formation and discharge of same is not only severly painful but over the long run can cause CKD and even total loss of kidney function
@@Daisy-xl4xuYou should probably speak to your doctor (one who has a deep familiarity with your medical history) right away and whenever you decide to add or remove a new food item from your diet on a regular basis. Making drastic dietary changes without consulting your doctor first (and maybe even a nutritionist if your doctor is unsure) can be potentially risky if you have a chronic condition (particularly for those with autoimmune disorders and/or kidney disorders).
Vast majority of kidney stones are formed of calcium oxalate. It is only a minority - maybe 1% that are formed of an amino acid found in collagen. So there is a risk of forming kidney stones by taking collagen but it is very small.
@@sonialoves444 because he gives informative information and the way he explains is easy to understand. That’s not super weird. Like in school, some teachers gave me a headache and others made me want to be in school.
I take Vit C that’s it. I’m turning 50 this month. But I do include fermented foods, avocado, use only healthy oils, I eat mostly home cook meals, this works for me. Start with cleaning up junk from your diet and it will do wonders.
This is why I like Skin School Dr. Karam. I've taken Vitamins for years but never thought about it being in any way to skin health. I can't take anything with biotin in it because it counter acts my thyroid meds that I must take because of thyroid cancer. Bone broth is great in one's diet. A lot of the foods you listed are in my diet and that makes me feel great. Thank you so much Dr. Karam for this great video.
Thank you so much for this video, and including your wife into your daily basis healthy routine, is is very important that a patient can fully trust the Clinician actions by respecting his work!
Thank you so much from Australia 🤗. This is the best video I have seen in a very long time & I will incorporate all of these into my diet. Ty so much Dr!
I'm a vegetarian/vegan and so not much to no collegian. Still my skin is smooth, no wrinkles. Nobody thinks I am my age. They usually think my son is my boyfriend (poor him!). I think eating healthy, drink tea, no smoking, no alcohol and beware of the sun will do way more than any supplement. Just my thoughts... LJ
I avoid sun since my twenties I’m now in my 40’s but I also have low vitamin d level for a long time until now my highest is 35, my level is always between 5 and 35.
Please, could you do a video about HRT: Bio identical hormone replacement therapy. Thank you in advance. Your videos are very educational, well done, and easy to understand.
What a treat to listen to you on my Sunday morning .. I have again learnt so much thank you kindly for your time. Is there any way we can have all of this in a multipack .. so that it is all in one place, at the recommended amount .. that is my biggest issues with vitamins and supplements, it is just too much effort to get in, take all .. life takes over. However, I do many things here that you recommend and certainly the miconeedling has been amazing. I wish you had clinics in the UK ..
Hello I am a brand new subscriber and this was excellent and spot on.! We swear by using Hydrolyzed collagen peptides and many of these vitamins. I also use retin A, lots of SPF and barrier repair topicals . I am 64 and I look early 40's with no botox, fillers nothing. People are shocked when I tell them my age. We went to Italy for a while and I did not take my collagen and I could tell a difference over time. I have no wrinkles and also try to eat many of the foods you mention. What you are saying works, my husband and I are a testament. We have been using Andrew Lessmans ( Procap Labs) collagen and vitamins because he is amazingly knowledgeable like you and ethical and his products are the purist. Since taking his products our doctors and hairdresser have seen so many changes! We are so thankful. I love videos that are pure knowledge and people do their research, so you both remind me of each other which is an amazing thing. Thank you and keep educating us and I may try your products as well. I love the calm educational style. I also watched a video on retinol/Retin A an while ago and that was very good, wanted to have my son watch it so he starts young to have beautiful skin and health but have not had a chance yet. Very informational.
Thank you so much for this very generous informative video. I would like to know if you are getting any compensation for mentioning nutrafol and vital quality proteins.
Dr. Karam-Thank you for this video- deciphering this all can be overwhelming. Can you talk more about specific brands of high quality vitamins, minerals & supplants- it’s like a mine field out there. Also- if we supplement with these things- do we also take a quality multivitamin? A quick “cheat sheet” would be incredibly helpful. I use your trifecta line & LOVE it- thank you @dramirkaram
Dr. Karam , what a Great video, the explanation & choices are perfect. This is one of the best videos I have seen, thanks so much for bringing us all your great expertise 🙏👍
Hi Dr. Karam, new to the channel. I've heard you mention micro needling a couple of videos. I know you're referring to an office procedure, but I was wondering if the face rollers with needles are a gimick or if they actually help in conjunction with other skin care products for an at home option?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us . I simply love to watch your valuable informative RU-vid sessions.. I've learned so much from your sessions.
For those considering omega-3s (which should be everyone), do yourself a favour and get the algae-derived kind. Fish only have omega-3's because they eat this micro algae, so better to get it direct from the algae itself without all the harmful chemicals that accumulate in fish.
Im 100% vegan and get all my nutrients from food. For B12 I add nutritional yeast to my food regularly. For omega 3 I eat hemp and chia seeds. I get blood work yearly and it’s always excellent better than most animal product eating people I know. You don’t need to supplement if you’re vegan just make sure to eat a balanced diet. Edit: Also Moon Juice has an excellent vegan collagen boosting supplement.
Absolutely this! I am an ethical vegan so my reasoning for going vegan had nothing to do with vanity reasons as I am already an Esthetician, however my skin completely transformed when I became vegan. I feel as if I’m aging backwards! I do eat a Whole Food plant based diet with minimal processed vegan foods and exercise regularly but just cutting out all animal products was a game changer for my overall health and skin! Treating my body as a temple and not a graveyard has truly changed me and I never harm another living being in the process! It’s a win win 🌱
@@FragranceEuphoria I meant to say vegan collagen supporting supplement. Drinking collagen to support collagen health is like eating brain for cognitive health. Doesn’t make sense.
This video is very clear and impressive, love the fact that you did mentioned nutrafol and bovine collagen, in addition, could you provide a list of exactly what products you take on the daily??? There are so many (not so great) choices 🤔
I love your skin care. I’ve been using it for over a year and I love it. I have an olive skin tone and have been fighting melasma since I was in my 30’s. I’m 50 now and my skin has never looked better. It’s a little expensive but so worth it.
I want to start using bone broth. Can you recommend a brand please? I'm hoping it might help improve osteoporosis too. And thank you Dr Karam for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!
Dr. Karam hi from Melbourne Australia and thank you for sharing your beneficial knowledge. Can you please advise me on what serums and creams are best applied together to the skin morning and night routines as there are so.many like vit C, hylauraunic acid, niaciamide , retinol etc. Im just confused to when to apply these....and what to apply with what to be beneficial for my skin. Thank you so much. Nadia
Love to learn all of the ways that we can help ourselves look youthful! You have helped me so much! Im 61, and i just lost 30 lbs trying to be as youthful as possible. I have had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. That was 16 yrs ago. I would love to have you do a vertical restoration on my face! Thanks for taking your valuable time to help us!!!
Nutrafol has maintained my transplanted and native hairs. I tried all other hair supplements viviscal, prenatal, biotin alone etc. but this nutrafol seem to be the best one out there , if one has the $$$
Beautifully presented Dr. Amir…you are so passionate on this subject, which is wonderful to hear … I do take & eat many of your suggested foods but I don’t take a collagen supplement.. maybe I should !! … thank you again ..😊
I don't have a multivitamin recommendation. I get most of these from my varied diet but if you find one make sure to use the guidelines mentioned in the video to find a quality product.
@@kellycoffin5052I wouldn’t trust one observational study. We don’t know if the multi was the cause, people who take a multi may be more likely to be trying to make up for an unhealthy diet, for example.
I really like the way you do your presentation. You address the items by giving the objective and topic related at the beginning of the presentation. All the important points will be highlighted. This will make us understanding better.
