Are blast counted /ditacted in automatic cbc??..or only in Manual.. / under.. microscope?

Good question! Manual differentials are used to further detect specialized types of WBCs and abnormal cells like blasts. Some automated differentials are able to flag a sample if they detect abnormality, but manual differential and flow cytometry tests will likely be needed to identify the abnormal cells and count the number of blasts.

I am Thallaseemia and in cbc machine my report detect (blast?) in wbc message WBC were 2000 normal range is 4000 i am very scared ? Please REPLY if possible

Hi there! Blasts cells are normal when they are in the bone marrow at levels of around 5% or less of the total cells. However, it is not normal to have blasts in the circulating blood. If you are worried about your lab results, you should contact your doctor.
