I think for Craniamon, Darknightmon is a good pre-evo for it. Sorta like a purified evolution. And it fits that skull theme with the Cranium in his name. KaiserLeomon would be a nice preevo for Duftmon. And a hella left field throw, Nanimon into gankoomon.
Darknightmon is an awesome choice, it paints Craniamon as this black knight who overcame his demons and began fighting for justice. love the idea of a member of the royal knights that started out evil.

I just imagined a megidramon aura coming off him when he has been angered. Love it. Now im going to headcannon that Gallantmon is so calm to keep the beast inside in check.

For Duftmon/Leopardmon I think the recent card game set you mentioned kind of hinted the Mikemon might be a line for him. Along with Mihiramon (the Tiger Deva for those going "which one?") and I thought that was pretty interesting. So I guess the Rookie in THAT lineup would probably be a Salamon since it's like....all the Cat Digimons' default rookie. The other one from the card game that gave me a thought was Gankoomon; like you mentioned SkullMeramon was hinted at but a line and is what's in the Jesmon started deck, but what I thought would be interesting was Candlemon to Meramon, instead of SkullMeramon go Volcanomon for that big BOISTEROUS nature and then to Gankoomon.
Fun fact: in the Digimon Xros Wars manga, the royal knight Ulforceveedramon do show up as a ally to the Xros Heart team, it's heavily implied if not outright confirmed by him that he's Zeromaru because he make refference to his human partner, there's even a silhouette of V-tamer Taichi when he talk about him
For Duftmon weirdly some cards in the TCG sorta imply Bastemon as a pre evo. It seems weird but it Duftmon has been stated to be partly based on Oscar from the anime 'Rose of Versailles" who is a woman that dresses like a man, so evolving from Bastemon does work as a fun option.
It does kind of make sense that so many Royal Knights evolve from Knightmon. It's like these were the 'captains' of the different regiments defending key areas, parts or access points to Yggdrasil uplifted/elevated to mega level, and then making an organization with several other digimon who reached mega level on their own merits or journeys as the digital world expanded, to form the Royal Knights, together defending Yggdrasil.
I love this video! Honestly, I have always loved the Monmon->Hanumon->Gokumon line, but never found a good mega for it, but Gankoomon works SO well! Also, I would love to see that video idea you had where you make an Alternate Royal Knights using the Royal Knights' alternate forms or slide evos!
Whoa! I never realized how perfect of a rookie Rurimon is for Dynasmon! Like it just fits so well. I always thought it was weird the LordKnightmon (known to me first as Crusadermon) was so pink compared to Knightmon. Like theres nothing that makes me think that Knightmon is going to become super pink. A different line I like for Crusadermon is Cutemon to Sistermon Blanc to Awakened Sistermon Blanc then Crusadermon. Now idr is sistermon blanc is a champion or a rookie, but it works a champion in my head cannon so im going with that lol.
I definitely do love hearing about the existing lines in digimon, myself as well as many other fans get most of our knowledge from the anime so learning about it from you is so awesome! A cool counterpart for the royal knights would be royal beasts, since duftmon has a beast form and they have a dragon on the team lol, so an opposite team having all beasts except one humanoid digimon would be very fun

I've always seen Volcanomon as a good ultimate for gankoomon mostly because of their connection in the card game. In BT6 they both appeared for the first time in the same colour and, with the exact same effect. Then in the Jesmon structure deck they both appear again
Great video, you could argue Gankoomon evolve so much as a martial artist that everything around him becomes a deadly weapon or that he uses his magic spirit/stand instead I really like the idea of the alter/variant Royal Knights line-up fo another day.
I think in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth you could also digivolve Shakkoumon into Craniamon what I found interesting because Shakkoumon is based on a Dogu what is supposed to contain evil forces if I remember correctly, so maybe turning into Craniamon is all that evil energy sealed into Shakkoumon breaking out and turning into a new being
Alternate Royal knights forms would be great. Id like to see that. Id also like to see a custom evolution line for them though using custom art. I think you and your artists could come up with something great. Imagine a little baby omnimon based off the fusion of agumon and gabumon and he gets more and more omnimon like.
I've always knew about Rurimon and I was very indifferent about him, but now in this context of the Dynasmon evolution line, I LOVE HIM! He now jumped to being one of my favorite rookies just because of this idea, thank you, Karn! Wizarmon is my second favorite digimon (Clockmon being the first) and I've always disliked his usual pre-evolutions, but now I feel I found one of my true soul partners haha
Ok, Gankoomon's was my favorite evo line because you included Gokuwmon and that digimon has skyrocketed as one of my favorite digimon of all time from the moment I knew it existed! Also, I surprisingly liked that you choose Agumon as UlforceVeedramon's rooky, don't know why since I never cared much for that one RK but Agumon made that evo line much better for some reason lolol
Mistymon looks so cool and I wish it got more love. Personally I also really like Ghostmon as a Rookie for Wizardmon. I'd love for Rurimon to get its own evolution family.
For your next video do top 20 rookie digimon that deserved a full digimon line. Monmon, kumamon, bearmon, ignitemon, spadamon are a few that come to mind.
I used to think Gankoomon was a Cyberdramon evolution, being in black rubber suits, and the spirit being a Milleniummon reference. After reading the lore on him a bit a few months ago I was considering maybe Nanimon should be in his line somewhere. He might also be a fusion of two mega's but I could never figure out which ones. Also you forgot Raptordramon as part of the Alphamon line, but a video on the intersection of Alphamon's lines might be needed, with Gaiomon, Ouryumon, Dorugoramon and DeathXmon all being slide megas and Gaiomon DNA digivolving with Kahazumon to make an Omnimon variant. In my personal headcannon its Alphamon, Grademon, Raptordramon, and Ryudamon. Yggrasil then kidnaps him, and fuses him with Dorugoramon and he goes all the way back down to a Dorumon. In the movie notice he is completely confused about his body, the line is new to him. Grademon is also a good bridge between Magnamon and XVeemon.
Gaiomon is related to Alphamon? Wut? That makes no sense- Gaiomon is explicitly a Greymon-species digimon, and more specifically it was originally intended to be an X-Antibody variation of BlackWarGreymon. And jogressing with Kuzuhamon- you're not talking about Next Order, are you? Admittedly, in that game you _could_ get an Alter-B by jogressing Kuzuhamon and Gaiomon, but this was likely done for story relevance as otherwise the only relationship that Gaiomon and Kuzuhamon have to Alter-B is that their plot alongside Shoma (who was possessed by Analogman) was to corrupt Zwart D and force it to evolve. I'm also hesitant because the same evolution can also be achieved by jogressing an OmegaShoutmon and Arresterdramon.
@Hyperneosonic97 dorugreymon can continue on into the Gaiomon, it's been that way since before the game. He's been a side evolution of ryudamon and dorumon since his introduction.
@@Zayelion Not really a slide evo of Alphamon, though, that's not what a Slide Evolution means. It's an alternate Mega for DORUguremon. Also, no he hasn't. DORUguremon *has only ever been able to evolve into Gaiomon in Digimon ReArise.* Even in Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory (the most recent game where both species appeared), DORUguremon _was unable_ to evolve into Gaiomon (it instead became Alphamon, DORUgoramon, Sleipmon or Breakdramon), whereas Gaiomon came from the three Greymon-type Ultimates (MetalGreymon, MetalGreymon Virus and RizeGreymon) and Hisyaryumon.
I actually really like Dorugreymon/DORUguremon as a prevolution for Examon: Both are red dragons and both have the metallic rings/blades lining the edges of their wings. It's a really distinctive visual feature no other Digimon beyond those two have. I know Breakdramon and Slayerdramon is the "intended" prevolution(s), but I think DORUguremon makes way more visual sense and as you noted, Grademon works better as a Alphamon prevo then DORUguremon itself does.
To be fair Digimon can sometimes evolve into fusions without fusing with anyone but they'r power is reduced from that, while Grademon makes lot more sense to be Alphamon's prevo because that's it's intended prevo since day 1, but the X-evolution movie for some reason made it Dorugreymon so Bandai stuck with that, even tho Dorugreymon already has it's own intended mega with Dorugoramon...
I really liked Gankoomon in the Jesmon tcg deck. Its kind of implied that Gankoomon evolved from Volcanomon and Meramon. I really like that because it keeps the humanoid/fire/punching themes throughout.
VS Royal Knights seems to imply that Salamon - Mikemon - Mihiramon - Leopardmon are their own line and I'm for it cos it not only distances Mikemon from Gatomon but it's funny that the bipedal aspect of Mikemon returns in Leopardmon but can be reverted to quadruped via Leopard Mode, also I've really been wanting to build a deck based around Mikemon and this is perfect.
Thinking about Gankoomon again, and I like your connection to SuperStarmon. Maybe it could come from that and then Starmon and then...uhhhh...Solarmon? Could connect to that theme of shining bright, like a knightly paragon?
I like Impmon being Dynasmon’s rookie personally because I love Impmon and in my head canon, if he’s cared for and treated well he goes the Dynasmon route but if he’s alone or treated badly he’ll go the Beelzemon route
I like the idea that Gankoomon starts its line with rudimentary melee weapons and eventually trades those in for its own strength. Or better yet, you could add a bit of mysticism by saying its melee weapon becomes the Hinukan, the fire-like passion of all its battles come to life.
See, I’ve been doing my own “American Digidestined Digimon Full Evolutions” and i had the whole Monmon-Apemon-Gokuwmon but never thought of Gankoomom until hearing your thread of their connections! Awesome idea and just love learning more from your videos!
When it comes to gankoonmon I always figured it would be tied to orgemon because of the relationship between gankoonmon and BanchoLeomon and how it could be viewed as two rivals growing to be friends as time passes. Mostly thanks to that cyber sleuth hackmon mission
Omg Karn this is crazy but your suggested evolution line for Dynasmon is strikingly similar to mine, except instead of wizardmon I just have Coredramon (blue) who then evolves into Mystimon then Dynasmon, of course I could also see Wizardmon as the champion but as you said before, evolution in digimon is more free and can branch out at times, still I'm amazed how almost in sync we were when it came to Dynasmon (btw he's my favorite Royal Knight, love that guy)

6:10 In the Xros Wars manga, the UlforceVeedramon of the Royal knights is actually Zeromaru, as he speaks of his past with Taichi. The events of the manga also take into consideration all first five seasons of the Anime, so the Royal Knights might include a lot of familiar faces in that continuity.
I kinda go back and forth on several of these, but aside from the orthodox lines for Omegamon, Magnamon, Dukemon, Jesmon, Sleipmon, and the full vaccine line for Alphamon (Dorumon->Raptordramon->Grademon), I also challenged myself to not use Knightmon for any of them, even though it can presumably become any of them. Vmon-Fladramon-Lighdramon-Magnamon -if you want to give it intermediate forms, you can use these, or maybe paildramon? Cutemon->Bitmon->Kyuukimon->LordKnightmon -Pink and cutty. When I'm not feeling like using Armors, I use reppamon or youkomon Bakumon->Baluchimon->Manticoremon->Dynasmon -I sometimes feel like something dragonier, like Airdramon->Gargoylemon. Maybe Betamon for a child? Penmon->Vdramon->AeroVdramon->UlforceVdramon -I like to remind people that Penmon has the chest Vs! Elecmon->Centarumon->Sagittarimon->Sleipmon -An alternate possibility for Sleipmon when I feel like using armors as perfects Kotemon->Gladimon->Giromon->Craniummon -This is actually my favorite place for Knightmon, but I think the Net Keeper fits with craniummon's deal Gazimon-Tobucatmon->Mihiramon->DuftmonLeopard Mode -Flying Cats! SkullBaluchimon also works as a perfect Dracomons->Coredramons->Wingdramon&Groundramon->Examon -I actually feel like this fits better without the separate megas, but I understand including them. Otamamon (Red)->BomberNanimon->Asuramon->Gankoomon -Fiery and punchy, I really like bombernanimon's oldmanness going into Gankoomon, and Asuramon's color scheme and horns fit well.
Dynasmon is my favourite royal knight. I love the idea of the OG Wizardmon's spirit returning to Witchelny after death, his sacrifice offsetting him stealing the book. He earned the respect of Hexeblaumon and was granted an evolution to Ultimate as Mistymon. When MedievalDukemon loses it and slides into Megidramon, Mistymon is granted a further evolution to help stop him. When the dust settles, Dynasmon has been able to quell the beast. Megidramon, instead of returning to MedievalDukemon is transformed into the modern Gallantmon. Both of them end up being recruited by Imperialdramon to the Royal Knights soon after.
I think it would be cool if the alternative royal knights were underdogs in their setting, specifically the Iliad Digital World where the Olympus XII rule. It’d at least give them as a group a chance to be actually heroic rather than either stubbornly neutral or actively antagonistic.
Didn't the Royal Knights Version of Gallantmon/Dukemon canonically became Megidramon at some point during it's training but was able to regain it's senses and started training to control his emotions prior to actually becoming a Royal Knight? I remember reading that at some point or was that another story?
@@Karn_EX I'm pretty sure in Digimon Rearise during the Four Great Dragons quest line, the Megidramon in the group gets reverted back into a Guilmon due Goddramon attacking it to be put down in order to spare the Digital World. Then the Qinglongmon & Holydramon intervene citing that the power can also be used to help protect the world instead of destroying it, leading to that Megidramon/Guilmon going on to join the Royal Knights as their new Gallantmon.
I LOVE the gankoomon line you chose as I was always hoping that Gokuwmon would be given a badass mega level finally!! For some reason in my head given Gankoomon’s affinity for dragons I always imagined him having a line of Shoutmon -> Shoutmon King Ver -> OmegaShoutmon -> and finally Gankoomon. It always felt satisfying for some reason
Random idea: Tamers evos that go beyond mega like crimson mode. Some are straightforward like beelzemon blast mode but it could be nice to see what you have in mind 🤔
IMO, the perfect Duftmon/Leopardmon line ive ever thought of would be Gazimon-Dorulumon-JagerDorulumon-Leopardmon. It gives Dorulumon a full line which i believe he needs and makes Duftmon to me at least a bit more interesting
Might be a hot take but I kind of feel like members such as Omnimon, Magnamon and Gallantmon is they should have their own special lines that don't follow the traditional routes. Could argue the same with Examon too. Maybe one day Bandai will give them all full-through lines or they won't. Could be a fun custom art video series.
Alternative royal knights would be a very fun video Question, though: are the royal knights the whole species (like all gallantmons are apart of the royal knights) or is it only individuals of a species (only one gallantmon is a royal knight)?
Glad you think so! I think it's one member of the species but there's multiple instances of the Royal Knights across different multiverses/server layers
I'd like to see an Alternate Royal Knights, I think it'd be interesting. Edit: I'd also like to see you're thoughts on an "Evil" version of the Royal Knights, despite the fact that the Royal Knights are already usually used as foes instead of allies.
The Jesmon starter deck seems to imply an evolution line for Gankoomon. Candlemon or Solarmon to Meramon, then to SkullMeramon or Volcanomon, before ending on Gankoomon. You yourself mentioned SkullMeramon and SuperStarmon, and all three of these Perfect level Digimon are ironically Gankoomon prevos in Cyber Sleuth / Hacker’s Memory. I personally kinda like Volcanomon a bit more, but I think all three work well. Also, lowkey wtf is with the Next Order evolutions for Gankoomon?! BlueMeramon I can kinda see, but Panjamon and MachGaogamon?! Because like, punching is his whole identity, maybe? Idk *shakes head*
If I may, expanding off your White Pawnchessmon to LordKnightmon line I thought of this line for Craniummon. Black Pawnchessmon > SkullKnightmon > DarkKnightmon > Craniummon. I always liked the idea of SkullKnightmon & DarkKnightmon being the younger stages for Craniummon. From the skull motif, to the darker nature of the three, and to using lances as their primary weapon. The rookie for this line is something I'm not completely set on, but the black color scheme and lance/spear weapon makes Black Pawnchessmon a logical fit. An alternative rookie could be Spadamon. And if you want to add the Baby I & II stages let's go with Choromon & Caprimon simply because they are cute.
I would’ve preferred the Dorulumon line in place of the Leomom line for Leopardmon/Duftmon, Tsukaimon>SkullKnightmon Cavalier Mode (since it’s AxeKnightmon/DarkKnightmon is technically a fusion between the two) > AxeKnightmon/DarkKnightmon for Craniamon and replaced the regular Agumon for SnowAgumon to differentiate from Omnimon/Omegamon’s Agumon also because SnowAgumon needs more love but these are good picks Karn
I've always preferred Craniummon evolving from Knightmon because they look more casually similar than LordKnightmon does. I think AngeWomon would be a good fit to evolve into LordKnightmon, and she could come from D'Arcmon too. Rookie could be Renamon or Salamon.
Definitely love the pick on Dynasmon’s rookie. I think the DarkKnightmon line making up Craniamon’s line really works more but the metallic skulls on Andromon are a cool parallel. I think GrapLeomon works well for Leopardmon’s ultimate but I feel like Mikemon would have made more sense as the Champion form as it gave up its Holy powers from its rookie (Salamon) to become more beast (this and their colors matching well with Leopardmon Leopard Mode). Honestly for Gankoomon I was a fan of Candlemon, to Meramon, to Volcamon, to Gankoomon line. Meramon since he’s all about punches with flames and Volcamon because it possesses fire and earth elements from volcano, electricity from its cyborg body, and a booming voice like thunder OR a tough father-like master would have for their pupil in training. Referencing his attack Quake! Blast! Fire! Father! Volcamon also has his volcano linked with his anger which works with Gankoomon’s other move Flipping Table in Anger! XD
Having videos like this is always nice because it´s a great mix of speculation and existing canon. Definitely hope you´ll do more videos like this, the Dark Masters and Olympos 12 ones. I would love to see you tackle the Death Generals/ "Big Death Stars" from XrosWars specifically, since I think they are cool, but overlooked group of Digimon. Though I am sure something like the Demon Lords would be more "crowd pleasing". Either way, can´t wait for more Digimon videos :D
I gotta say veemon and evolution line gotta be pretty strong when not one not two but three members of the royal knights being paladin mode being the founder and other two being magnamon and ulforceveedramon are part of this group
😂Even after you argued so passionately for Gokuwmon, SuperStarmon to Gankoomon is an digivolution i would LOVE to see. For some reason, to me they look SUPER good next to each other. Even if it's probably not true, I like to think UlforceVeedramon's Rookie is Veemon just because it's really funny to me that Veemon can, if you include their founder/inspiration Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, straight up become three different royal knights. Lil blue homeboy is just three of the Royal knights in a trench coat.
I've always liked Monodramon to Airdramon to Gigadramon as Dynasmon pre-evolutions and pawnchessmon (Black) to Skullknightmon to DarkKnightmon (with or without DeadlyAxemon) as Craniamon pre-evolutions.

I do love you mentioned aspects of evolution vanishing and coming back, I worked that into my "Personal Partner." Line of Kuramon > Tsumemon > Tsukaimon > Devidramon > Mephistomon > Belphemon SM > Belphemon RM. I feel the line flows well into each other, but you've got the somewhat dark Mystical beast of Tsukaimon, turning into a very beastly Devidramon, turning into the more mystical Mephistomon, and having a Mega that, in a way, splits the different on mode changes. I'm also glad that Beelzemon is such a staple, or using a deadly sin would feel... weird.
I personally made a Duftmon line. It goes YukimiBotamon > Nyaromon > Plotmon > Mikemon > Mihiramon > Duftmon I like it because of these reasons: - Mikemon is a variation of Gatomon and Black Gatomon that needs its own line. - Duftmon's mode changes echo Gatomon's Angelic (Ophanimon) and Beastial (Magnadramon/Holydramon) Mega evolutions. - YukimiBotamon's colours match Plotmon. - Nyaromon's colours match Mihiramon. - Mikemon's colours match Duftmon. - Mirihamon's purple armor and red scarf flow quite well into Duftmon's hints of purple/blue armor and flowing red waistband. There's also the rather roundabout fact that Mihiramon has SaberLeomon vibes, and SaberLeomon provides the data that Gatomon gets its gloves from with Mikemon obviously being related to Gatomon... It just pulls it together nicely for me in so many ways.
My Gankoomon line (using Japanese names) is as follows: Mokumon->Peti Meramon->Candmon->Meramon->Death Meramon->Gankoomon. The idea is that the Digimon is constantly getting hotter and hotter, until it is so hot that it grows an entire new lifeform made from the fire, that being Hinukamuy.
It was nice to know each royal knights evolution lines,even though some of them,also would love to see video about royal knights slide evo.And another thing,i kinda surprised you didn't mention raptordramon and dorugoromon .Like i always saw raptordramon be in-between dorumon and grademon and dorugoromon is always was another dorugreymon evoveld form,but i won't be surprised if you forget about them😂
I actually prefer Reptiledramon and Grademon for Alphamon since Dorugamon and DoruGreymon work more with Dorugoramon. Would it be possible for us to see another of these videos for the Seven Demon Lords? I think that would be really interesting.
I really like the idea of Bastemon being the pre-evo to Leopardmon. The feline feature is obviously there, but apparently, Leopardmon/Duftmon is based female characters from manga that masquerade as men. A female Duft seems pretty cool to me
Bit weird you didn't mention Raptordramon when it comes to Alphamon, as the big thing about Dorumon when it came out all the way back in 2003 in Pendulum X is that it has a full evolution line of Vaccines (Raptordramon, Grademon and Alphamon), Data (Dorugamon, DoruGreymon and Dorugoramon) and Viruses (DexDorugamon, DexDorugreymon, DexDorugoramon and Dexmon), giving a line for all 3 main Digimon types.
I do like the idea of dynasmon's line having impmon, and wizardmon, almost like if wizardmon follows the path of good they become a royal knight, but if it gives into its desires it'll become beelzamon. i had an idea for a gankoomon line of, gatsumon, golemon, and volcamon
