Can implied contracts be enforced for services. Say, you work for someone for a couple of weeks under the impression that you would be compensated, but then the "employer" decides not to pay you for your time and work because there was no "promise" of compensation?

Yes, possibly. The situation you are describing might be considered a contract by conduct - - the parties performance shows that there was a contract. Alternatively, there is a principle that if someone provides someone else with a benefit and it would be unfair for the person to take the benefit without compensating the other party, then a court might order the party receiving the benefit to provide compensation. This is just general information - - if you have a specific legal situation you should consult a lawyer in your jurisdiction.

Hey, im an animator. I have been doing animation for about two years with the same client. I have been getting paid a roughly similar amount every month for almost 2 years until recent. The client ghosted me for almost 2 months and then out of the blue sent me money for animation. The money was less than half for what I would have charged for the entire month. I did the animation, and it was correct when I turned it in. Weeks later he refuses to pay my invoices because HIS client whom im doing the work for needs revisions. Now im out of work because I refuse to work for free. He is essentially holding my money hostage, while im under contract with another company full time, I cant work on his project. So what now?
