fair expectations is that he makes a lot of fucking money and he missed 3 games. HE should be held to the highest standard if he plays. if he is still hurt then dont play him but if he is healthy enough to play at the money and extention he is getting then He should be expected to produce at an elite level. that simple
That simple? Has Matthews earned his pay with just 1 goal? Has Bertuzzi exceeded his pay since he has more production than Matthews at over 2x the money? It's not cut and dry.
Willie is definitely a offensive threat, but....... his defensive play SUCKS! Nylander is too soft like Mitchy and both players shy away from the rough play, and become non effective. Both players need to bring it tonight and play outside their comfort zone, to get the WIN!
Since the fans loves to trash the coach and the GM on an endless basis makes me believe the fans can do a better job coaching and managing the Leafs than Keefe and Treliving can. Why doesn't Shanahan do the common sense thing and replace Keefe with the fans or when the Leafs replaced Dubas with Treliving, Shanahan should've replaced Dubas with the fans instead. After all the fans knows more about the team and their strengths and weaknesses than the management team does.
Actually hockey related decisions aren’t as complicated as coaches/ GM’s make out. They pretend these matters are super complicated to make themselves appear smart and indispensable.
Expecting anything from a player who’s been irrelevant in the past twenty games is appalling. What needs to happen is for Marner and Tavares to get off their butts and start earning their paycheque. Expecting Nylnder to save this team is quite ridiculous.
Nylander is a better hockey player than both. With great skill comes great expectations. I don't expect Marner and JT to do anything. I'm expecting Matthews and Nylander to score goals and carry this group. This is their team.
I almost feel bad for the leafs. They had to play Boston in the first round out of all teams. Bostan is such a well structured defence team, and the leafs their weakness obviously is defense. I don’t think they’ll get out of the first round.
