As a person born in karachi but moved to Lahore in 2010, I have always loved Karachi and wished to come back ( i will move soon IA), this is the first time I really am optimistic about Karachi's recent future. Owing to the likes of Shahzad and other content creators, the problems of Karachi are finally communicated to the masses. Mr. Murtaza's candidness and honesty was treat to watch and Shahzad was phenomenal (as always :) Love and prayers for Karachi and Karachiites ❤️

@@ibratnak to some extent you may be right but this is the first time that i am seeing Karachiites taking interest in who will be the mayor. My chachu from Karachi (working an average office job) visited recently and despite having to raise 4 children and run a house, he knew the potential candidates for mayor which shows! Hafiz Naeem and Pti candidate for mayor have recorded multiple times with acclaimed youtubers of Pakistan. This helps and Ibrat, communication helps!! If tomorrow, a bunch of youngsters stand up to a politician from Karachi in public demanding a united power through constitutional amendment, that politician will have to accommodate them because he will know that Karachiites know the issues. Communication helps identifying problems which helps identifying those charged with solving the problems which, in turn, helps catching those accountable!
This was such an essential conversation for people to start developing more awareness regarding the complexities of this monstrous city's administration. I thought Murtaza Wahab came across as an earnest worker of the city and it was tremendously difficult to doubt the sincerity of his intentions. Hope we continue to see that passion manifest in real work. Much of what he said made sense but many answers also failed to deliver - I guess that's just the nature of truth, always somewhere in the middle. If people like him continue to work for the PPP and are rewarded with visible political growth and clout, the PPP could really begin to appeal to a different demographic. Brilliant podcast. I lived in Karachi from 1992 till 2007 before terrorism pushed us out and Karachi is still the only place i call home. Even more so than Pakistan. This opened my eyes at least in terms of the good things PPP is doing in Sindh. Hope its bad parts lessen in future and people like Murtaza Wahab become the mainstay of the party.

Information dissemination is the biggest failure of Provincial government especially when the narrative of "Kisny karachi ko barbaad keea" is squarely against them. Been living in karachi for 2.5 years, jb sirey sy pta hee na ho k KMC kia balaaa hai aur Union committee ka kia concept hai, tou khaak google kroonga mai'n? And that's because "it's not visible" at all. They should seriously work on their visibility and by that i literally mean some billboards/information signboards throughout the major roads advertising KMC, Cant boards, DMCs their major jurisdictions and major "Responsibilities" aswell as website link/phone numbers

Whatever may be said for politicians' general intellectual dishonesty and selective morality. I have been quite impressed by Murtaza Wahab's intelligence and capacity for relentless hardwork, it shines through his explanations and exhaustive justification of his position. I hope we get more people like him in Pakistani government and with some real power.

Nicely done, Shahzad. PPP has the best of educated leadership, folks who want to deliver regardless of politics. At the same time, they also have the worst of politics, landed "aristocrats" who rule by fear and live lawlessly. It would be interesting to get one of their mainstream politicians like Raza Rabbani on to talk about that.
After all murtaza wahab knows the problem very well,i think he is the right person to resolve the issue of city,let him support to do some thing better, i draw his attention to spray program for fly's,mosquitos and other insects, for malaria &dengue virus ,baggers are an other bothering issue,they are so aggressive knocking the window glass even pulling our clothes.

From first hand experience of using University Road between 15th-31st July this summer, it is completely incorrect and actual outright lying that road quality is perfectly ok, at several points the road or lack thereof was so bad that vehicles were stuck or damaged.

I am no agreed with Mr Murtaza Wahab regarding 40% wastage of hub source. If there is thefting by tankers or extracting by pumping it would be meager wastage. Further there is no huge percolation / underground absorption. At present katchi abadis getting 24 hours supply with different lines. This may be regulated At present there are officially 76 R.O plants being maintained by PHED & KWSB. Further there r thousands of R.O plants under private sector in all over karachi. The people use it for drinking purpose which is harmful because they retain all its TDS & no required chemical r provided resulting our life getting slow poison death. The location of desalination plants at Rehri & keamari seems to be un feasible which r far away and people will temper supply pipe line. Therefore it is suggested that first of all take deep source in sea at mid point of clifton & Defence and supply said water to these areasa they afford its price further at present they r getting bottle water which is more expensive and desalination water cab be used for drinking purpose. Since 30 years we r providing ad hoc reluef to karachi during rain we try to de water immediately to stop the people cry &there after we never bothered to remove / rectify the issues on permanent basis. It is suggestat pl engage international consultabt prior execution of CLICK, KWSSIP, SWEEP ETC projects and finalization Master plan / Action or Strategic plan so that to address actual prblems and remove eadily. There r so many other issues of karachi like public transport management of traffic separation diversion of dewerage water from storm water drain,location of education. Pl make karachi as COMPACT CITY & reduce the travel of people establush an other Whole sale market, provide residence to the gove servat near to their work place on walking distance give awareness to the people impose penlity who getting violate of environment and laws of trafic etc etc Thanks

I thought PPP was running Sindh continuously for about 15 years. They should take responsibility for Karachi's (the capital of Sindh province) problems.
In karachi district west mominabad town mostly areas is badly effected shortage of water due to very low pressure of supply from water board 66" line alot of complains to water board administration but no response the problem is still kindly raised this issue may be some one give it seriously

Important qs you should ask is why are Sindh bureaucrats who were convicted of corruption and returned their money allowed to return to their jobs to try again? A lot of bad decisions and bad policy planning is due to corruption.
