What is a Lissjous Pattern on a 'scope?
A Lissajous pattern is the graph of a system of parametric equations which describe complex harmonic motion. In electronics, we can view these on an oscilloscope by switching from our standard viewing of voltage/time (Y/T) to X/Y mode.
In this video we use the Siglent SDG1032X dual channel function generator to create sine waves for each channel, then by changing the frequency, phase, or both of one of the channels we can produce the patterns.
If you have ever seen "oscilloscope music" this is how it's done.
If you have any questions about the SDG1032X, email info@siglentamerica.com and will be glad to help you out.
