What is a Lissjous Pattern on a 'scope?
A Lissajous pattern is the graph of a system of parametric equations which describe complex harmonic motion. In electronics, we can view these on an oscilloscope by switching from our standard viewing of voltage/time (Y/T) to X/Y mode.
In this video we use the Siglent SDG1032X dual channel function generator to create sine waves for each channel, then by changing the frequency, phase, or both of one of the channels we can produce the patterns.
If you have ever seen "oscilloscope music" this is how it's done.
If you have any questions about the SDG1032X, email info@siglentamerica.com and will be glad to help you out.

Best instuctional demo of lissajous patterns I have seen on YT, easy to understand, and I enjoyed it. Thank you....

Hmm? I vaguely remember Lissajous from school but can't remember why they are used.

mostly audio applications, for phasing signals, amplification...etc

Oh, that makes sense. I've never messed with audio stuff so who knew?

imagine a what's it called. that musical instrument that you don't touch. invented by the Russian guy that it's named after. it has the two antennas . with the fields you move your hands colder to one for pitch. the other for volume! it starts with a T. why not build one of those and put it on the scope!!!! I'm going to be up all night trying to think of that T word. great video . I'd like to see more. I know .. get my own scope! if I did I'd be probing everything! good day!

learnelectronics YES! has anyone put one on a scope. or something like it on a scope? I love scope music. its just hard on your ears! the music that you listen to with your eyes! any idea what a 1.8 ohm coil will pull current wise? I guess the core has something to do with it. I just don't know if it acts like a transformer. or a inductor. or what. if you know anything about a alternator. I guess its like a transformer that the primary spins. and has 3 secondaries! for 3 phase output. the pulse width of the primary regulates the magnetic field. regulating the output. that's what I figure anyway after a year of off and on research. if you had rather I'll communicate thru email. I don't want everyone to read how dumb I can be! thanks
