This dude is the best. Why couldn't anyone teach it like this. I was struggling so much trying to memorize shit. Then I thought to myself, " If I just figure out how it's done I won't need to memorize anything!". Went online and found this genius. Thanks MrNystrom!!!
ok, I am literally falling asleep sitting here, I got like an hour total sleep last night from traveling and I still understood and comprehended this and am moving on with my work with ease. You're the man for real. I shared you on my social sites too, I hope you get a million views!
Shaine MacDonald Yeah some of the khan academy stuff's done really poorly. (Heads up) Their trigonometry section has some gaps and their chemistry videos aren't that great.. doesn't cover everything in as much detail as most of the math vids. You should check out PatrickJMT's trig videos when you get stuck.
So that's why circumference is 2πR! Cause it's 2 semi-circles stacked together, each of which has a "length" of π radiuses! I'm 24 and I JUST got it. It was so fucking obvious! Why couldn't they just explain it this way?!
This is seriously one of my favorite math videos on youtube and I show it every unit that i introduce radians. NO ONE IS MORE EXCITED ABOUT RADIANS THAN YOU AND THANK YOU!
I finally got a clear concept of radians, pi, and the circumference of a circle after over a decade long Engineering career. I never realized that a radian is originated from the radius lol. Thanks for the wonderful explanation.
MrNystrom, man this has got to be the best explanation of pi, radius and radians ever I went thru all of high school and didn't learn this or understand it. just memorized pi(3.14....). I think you deserve a noble prize!!!!
A couple years ago I watched this video to help me understand what exactly radians were and this video helped me a ton. I'd like to take the time and thank you MrNystrom. You are a true warrior teacher cat.
I love him.... I have gone through high school precalculus, college calculus and algebra, and THIS is the first time someone has explained it, so I understand what it MEANS.... His enthusiasm is awesome, too!
Absolute legend, you emanate motivation and desire to teach, many teachers throughout my upbringing could not entitle me this, so I thank you for your commitment toward a broader, more inclusive scope of learning! Thank you my friend
I like how quickly you explained, it is painful watching a slow teacher sometimes. I generally respond well to logic, and this therefore beats memorizing the unit circle. Thank you
I teach at a high school in Morgantown, WV, and I showed my students this video today because radians weren't clicking for them (even though I explained it the same way you did), and they LOVED IT. They laughed and were entertained and best of all, the light bulbs went off. You might have to be a regular "guest speaker" for us when we get to stats!
my pre-cal/trig teacher showed this based on a students recommendation and everyone thought this was insane and hilarious but at the end everyone understood the concept so mission accomplished???
Hey MrNystrom, I'm telling you.. freaking teachers can't explain simple stuff as that ! , great job man! , Hope you could make a video about sin cos tan....
Amazing, a lot of things just clicked when I watched this video thank you for this valuable knowledge, I will cherish it for the rest of my life inshallah :)
Khan Academy need to learn from your style. I even watched and listened to you more so than the tall girl with the long black hair. Good job! Now I can explain it to my youngster... Many thanks for making something so dry worthy of listening to.
I've seen many explanations of radians, but for some reason this video just made it so clear and precise as to what radians are (and where all those pesky fractional numbers came from). Thanks MrNystrom.
This video was super helpful!! I started trig today and this is the part that threw me off the most!! My teacher nor the book didn't explained it nearly as well as you did. They just kind of "went through it" , so thank you man!!
I have been studying about circles for half my life and NOW I understand pi. Mind=Blown. You did what all my math teachers couldn't. Thank you soooo much. :D
Brilliant!! If only all of my teachers at my high school were like you, Id be a much more intelligent man today!! because you make the subject INTERESTING!! well done.
Thank u so very much! I took trig a long time and forgot radians , this helps a lot , the enthusiasm helps a lot too. Keep making videos such as this .
YES!!!! You have no idea what a relief it was to see come across MrNystrom when googling "Radians". Strait up man, last year, when I had no idea what the deal with x bar and central limit theorm was, I watched your video, and I shit you not, I got 96% on that stats midterm. Now, I wouldn't be much of a stats student if I said that was causation haha, but I think you DEFINITELY were a part of that. Anyway, on to radians in order to hopefully not fail this linear algebra final...
Excellent explanation of what Pi and radians are. I was always told Pi was a constant but no one ever explained to me that it is the length of a the diameter of a circle around the circle itself and that radians are the radius (radii) of a circle around the circle itself. Not even when I watched the movie "Life of Pi" did I understand what were they all about...ahem. Get it? "Life of Pi?"
You're a legend bro. Explained in the way you think. I'll never not know what a radian is from this moment onwards. Look forward to watching you're other videos for some further brain explosions.
omg I was laughing throughout the video 😂...but THIS IS THE ONLY VIDEO AND TEACHER that could explain this concept so easily.. thank you so much. immediately subscribed!
AAAAAHHHH NOBODY HAS EVER GOT ME SO HYPED FOR MATH!!! THANK YOU!!! And in all seriousness, thanks for the explanation, I needed this to be crystal clear for some web development I'm learning, and you made it so. Wish you kept making more content like this!
I've been looking for a radian video to help me with my online geometry homework and this is by far the best one and helped me a lot, thank you so much
Can you get closer to the camera mate, hard to hear ya. Nah but in all seriousness, love this dudes way of explaining. HE JUST DROPS MATH FACTS RIGHT IN YO FACE. New favorite math tutor :)
This video has helped me immensely, thank you! I'm currently studying this for my Maths A-Level (England) and my teacher just could not explain what a radian is but the penny has finally dropped!
I have been struggling with this concept for almost 2 years now this is the first time I’ve understood it thank you so much now I won’t fail my algebra II exam
