Could have more specified that shaders are programs specifically for the shader cores in the GPU, and since each GPU has multiple shader cores, these programs can run parallel and thus enable to calculate them faster than if it was done on a big monolithic CPU.
I just discovered your "Shader Secrets" course thanks to this video, which looks like a super showcase for what is available through your course :) Maybe you should add links for the course and the free GitHub repo !
