RIP Sybil Jefferies - COVID took her in 2020. My top 3? Regulate, Pain, Loyal to the Game. Honorable mention to Afro Puffs, Didn't Mean to Turn You On, Big Pimpin', Part-Time Lover, and Old Time's Sake.
It's wild how many different versions there are of this soundtrack, @teckzilla108. We see you recently subscribed, too. We appreciate that. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccessEnt.
This soundtrack dropped the year I graduated high school. Definitely has a special place in my heart. Pain, Part Time Lover, and Old Times Sake are my top 3 💯
2Pac's "Pain", "Brenda's got a baby", "Dear Mama" are tear jerkers. 2Pac is one of the first (maybe the first) rappers that made songs that touched your spirit.
I was in third grade when it came out and saw the movie the same week. However,it wasn't until a year later when my grandmother had finally gave me the CD copy. As happy as I was to have it and also to my dismay,2 Pac's Pain wasn't on there. Unbeknownst to me,there were two other songs that didn't make the CD, probably due to time constraints. Luckily,my aunt had the cassette version that contained the soundtrack in its entirety and I borrowed the cassette to make a copy. Aside from all that,it was a well balanced soundtrack and like Amir said, there were several soundtracks prior that had random songs that didn't belong but I didn't feel that way with Above The Rim. To me,it felt like a party.
Fantastic soundtrack! I just repurchased the vinyl from GOD, and it does indeed include the bonus tracks. I do have them on the Regulate single vinyl version as well though. I just love ‘Pain.’ The opening scene of the film always comes to mind when I hear it. 1. Pain 2. Hoochies Need Love Too 3. Dogg Pound 4 Life
Pain 2PAC Regulate Warren G Loyal to the game 2PAC, TREACH, RIDDLER Of DBGz The Riddler Of DBGZ from Detroit, Michigan They had a hit single called "Body Like A MF" and "BANG BOOGIE BANG". They were Signed to Hammer's Bust IT Records. I still have the DBGZ ALBUM ON CD 💿
@@rappinandsnackin The RIDDLER OF DBGZ ( DANK, BREW AND GUNZ) Was Also was a guest feature on Silk & Keith Sweat's 1992 hit single called happy days where he raps his parts. Before signed to Hammer's label bust it records the same year in 1992. Their debut album called phizzed off in 1993 DBGZ ( DANK, BREW & GUNZ)
This is my 3rd favorite album of all time, and THE best hip hop and R&B soundtrack ever made. Regulate was out on this soundtrack for about 2 months before the Warren G album came out. Thug Life’s album didn’t come out until about 6 months later so Pour Out A Little Liquor was known more for being on Above The Rim. My top 3 favorites are: 3. Blowed Away by B Rezell 2. Jus So Ya No by CPO 1. U Bring Da Dog Out by Rhythm & Knowledge
"Regulate", "Anything" and "Afro Puffs" for me. I'll also shout out "Old Time's Sake" big fan of Ceybil Jeffries who unfortunately passed away in 2020. RIP. I think you guys should do the Juice soundtrack, that's a far more difficult choice.
Amir. You are spot on. Your top 3 picks are my top 3 picks. And to confirm the recent vinyl has all 21 tracks on the soundtrack. My theory behind leaving the last 3 songs off the CD version is that it exceeded the 80 minutes and didn't want to make it a double CD I guess.
One of my top e soundtracks. I played this to death in HS in Central Jersey. Salute you guys for this. 1. Big Pimpin 2. Old time Sake 3. Pour out a little liquor
Dope album had the tape, Pain, loyal to the game the Riddler verse 🔥 and how long will you mourn me. Good content as usual Soren throw back to the freaknic days in 94
Arguably the best hip hop and r&b soundtrack ever. My three picks: Regulate, Dogg Pound 4 Life and Afro Puffs. Homrable mention: Anything (Wu-Tang remix); Big Pimpin' and Didnt Mean to Turn You On.
My Top 3 are-The Lady of Rage-Afro Puffs, Thug Life-Pour out a little liquor, Al B. Sure-I'm still in love with you Honorable mention-Tha Dogg Pound-Big Pimpin, H-Town-Part time lover
1.Pain I bought the tape when it cam out for my walkman lol also on the 12 inch single behind you guys, the cover says Pain, but is not on my pressing? Amir can u confirm?
hey, it is a sampler and has Al B. Sure "I'm Still In Love With You", H-Town "Part Time Lover", Tupac "Pain", and Tupac, Treach, and Riddler "Loyal To The Game", all of which are on the vinyl, I just played to double check
To me the Above The Rim is arguable the greatest soundtrack of all times, yet the Gang related soundtrack also on Death Row records is also a great soundtrack, and to me the greatest soundtrack of all times. Plus Suge Knight is the one who went out and got the Above the rim soundtrack for Death Row , as Suge Knight said in a 1996 interview with the source magazine they needed something, because by 1994 (when the Above the rim soundtrack was release) Death Row had only release two projects Dre's The chronic album & Snoops Doggystyle album.
I also liked the other version of "Pain" performed by 2PAC and Stretch on the Arsenio Hall show. The beat was darker and it samples Eazy-E's song "Any Last Werdz".
Damn. No “Pour Out a lil Liquor”… that’s crazy! Also, you gotta remember how “Regulate” ended the entire film. That beat comin on leading us into the credits was just butter back in the day! PEACE YALL Would love to see your picks for another legendary soundtrack one day,,, “I got the hookup”
Yes, the Riddler was in a group from Detroit called the dbgz they had an album called pissed off which came out in 1993 and he was on MC hammers busted label pretty good! Album
