The kind of pain experienced through the condition of Fibromyalgia, can be of three varieties - Nociceptive Pain, Neuropathic Pain and Nociplastic Pain.
Fibromyalgia is predominantly a nociplastic pain, but medication for managing the condition may need to be tailored to manage a mixture of these pains and symptoms.
I explain more in this video.

I have had fibromyalgia for over 20 years. Antidepressants Amytriptline never worked for me. I discovered.... Not my physician that I was Vit D3 deficient and Vit B1 deficient. My internist listentened to me when I asked for a baseline D3 and Vit B1 blood work. I was deficient in both.... My physician prescribed 50,000 iu of Vit D3 daily until my D3 level increased. It took 3 months and I felt 75 % pain free. Take Vitamin K2 with Vitamin D3 as Vitamin D3 increases calcium . Vitamin K 2 moves the calcium from the arteries into your bones and teeth where it belongs. Next was my B1 difiency. Causing diarrhea and nerve pain....and major anxiety with fibro fog. I was craving eggs, nuts and red meat..... Sure enough....my B1 was depleted. As soon as I increased my diet with B1 rich foods and added a supplement My symptoms disappeared. I am convinced Fibromyalgia is a Vitamin and mineral deficient illness ! ! !

The most effective medication for me is a lower dose narcotic a couple times a day to keep me “pain functional “. If I can take the edge off, I can get up and somewhat keep up with my housework. I can do grocery shopping and go to most family functions. Depending on how much I do, I may need to rest more the next day. But at least I’m not wrapped up in heat in my recliner, freezing up and getting frozen joints. The next medication is fioricet when I get these muscle tension headaches that feel like a migraine. Non medication effective treatments are myofascial release massages, but they get expensive since insurance doesn’t pay. Diet changes after having a food sensitivity test. Dairy, pork and gluten being the biggest pain triggers. Water exercise and hot tubs. I’m fairly sensitive to medication now so I react to many things. I’m afraid to try anything new anymore. So I look to food and herbs. Antidepressants made me suicidal. I take melatonin to help with sleep. I did get my mmj card. If I inhale thc I get panic attacks, but I can microdose (2mg at a time or less), gummies a couple times a day and it helps me cope with my health condition mentally. I haven’t been able to increase my dose enough for the pain relieving amount yet. But any little step helps as long as you don’t add more problems with side effects. I think medical professionals need to stop thinking of treatment as a one size fits all. I think there’s different triggers for fibromyalgia and each treatment will be patient specific. My next hope is doctors realize that we know our bodies best and what works and just because we know what works doesn’t make us a drug addict.

Loved it, very informative but you did forget to mention nerve blockers like Lyrica. Ive tried legitimately everything you have listed, from opiods and muscle relaxers to seizure medication to anti depressants/s.s.r.i.'s to nerve blockers to steroids to n.a.i.d's to marijuana. I have spent 20 yrs trying to find something that works for me. And what i found... for myself.... is n.a.i.d.'s and marijuana help ME the best. I do live in a part of the states where marijuana use is legal medically and recreationally. It has been a life changer for me. But i of course dont recommend it for everyone. For my plethora of medical conditions which includes fibro.... it works best for me for ALL my issues. And as a mother of 3 that is barely in her mid 30s.... its so important to me to be able to work, function decently for my kids, be able to keep up decently on housework as well and try to have a decently functioning life. As you can tell by my word choice, im not looking for pain free and perfection.... just decently functioning.

My mother had been taking nerve medications and anti depression medicines for fibromyalgia for past 3 months , but as soon as she stops taking the pain becomes usual. Does the patients need to take these medicines for lifetime?

My fibromyalgia flares are terribly painful. My arms and legs are on fire, a red hot flamming fire that I can’t put out. I have found that Toradol IV breaks this cycle of pain for me. I have to have it administered IV, not orally, something about the sed rate. I have tried Toradol orally and it doesn’t help at all for my pain. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.

I've learned a lot from the comments. Thanks guys. I find the only thing that helps me is unfortunately morphine but i only take it now and then. Then i try codipar sometimes that helps. Now i am on lexapro codipar valium morphine (when the pain is too intense) i mean something has to conflict with something there. Cannabis makes me get panic attacks. Lexapro i just feel weird on them. Can anyone give me a bit of advice here? Thank you 👍👍👍

Why is there no study on a natural substance called Kratom? Red vein Kratom manages my pain and anxiety very well and has literally saved my life. Prescriptions cause me much more harm than good and I refuse to go that route again. I have also tried to cover all my vitamin intake, making sure I’m not deficient in anything. Cannabis made my anxiety worse and thereby did not relieve my pain sufficiently.
