Table and chair
Nothing beats doing work at the table. Use a kids table and chair to create a study environment. It’s a place where once you and your child sit down, there’s a consensus to what is about to happen… Which is to play and also work on speech and language (or other things for that matter).
Yourself
You are the best toy. Do not let others make you think that a magical toy or teaching material will make your child talk. It might in the short run, but you need to equip yourself with the ability to teach your child on demand.
Laminator
This is the single more important thing to have at home if you need to teach a delayed child. You can use it to print out free teaching materials, create flashcards and more… It is a teacher’s best friend, and it will be yours as well.

Yes!, laminator and printer!!! Mine was broke, I had to go online shops and have it done for me 😅. I googled action words pictures and have them laminated, I then posted it on the wall. I model each picture to my daughter. It’s very helpful and really taught my daughter. Before she didn’t know how to say Hi, waving hands, she’s very delayed, now every-time she see the picture she would say Hi if I point to it and I would say “look, say Hi” me waving my hands too 😅. Basic action picture of cute cartoons girls and boys, like jumping, running, eating, drinking, bathing and specially sit-down, stand up. She likes those pictures and learned from it. Patience it truly must. I actually blame myself because of the delay development of my child, I am a busy father as well as my wife. We both working from home, we basically divides our task and time taking care of our baby. Due to our business, me working, my wife doing household if she’s not working and vice versa. We just let our child watch tv or use tablet why us were busy. We only have few hours of sleep and time to spend time with her. Mostly just to feed her and change diaper and what not. We don’t have nanny. Her pedia got our attention, when she said, she seems to be delayed for her age and told us to get her assessment. I searched for milestones in google and compare them and I was nervous because of all the negative thing I read. But I had to be strong, so we decided to bring her to Dev. ped and confirm that she is delayed. Before we brought her to OT, while were looking for centers near us, I did my own research to help her and I am so happy that she has a-lot of improvement before we took it OT. We Only had few session I think 5, and was informed that she can go for next step for speech therapy to catch up with speech. She’s 2yr and 5 months. First thing I did was to remove the gadget for 2 months. I play with her most of the time. When she sleep at night that’s the only time I get to do my own thing, take a nap then before get to start work 😅. Same as my wife, divide time in the morning, we bought alot of toys so she won’t look for tablet 😆. After 2 months. We let her watch tv and gadget but reduce the time screen and she can only watch with our supervision. Also we only watch teacher rachel, she learn alot from her she sing along with her although it’s not understandable but its good than before 😁. Hoping she can speak more soon ☺️.

You're on the same path as me. My daughter is four now and has made great progress in pre-k school along with speech therapy. She is now starting to notice her speech is not like other kids and is asking me for help in her own way. Trying to see how else I can help her led me here.

Hi Ming, at the moment I do my table activities on my dining table, I used stokke tripp trapp chair for my daughter, so she can sit straight, and the legs are not dangling around (it has platform to put her legs). She can sit during dinner and table activities also for more than 20 mins. Do you think it's good enough? Or should I still buy table/kids chair for her? Thanks for your videos, I'm halfway finishing the micro course.

if your child is below 3, the stokke chair is great. If over 3, use a kids chair and table

Hi there! I just found your channel because I’m desperately trying to get my almost 3yo to start talking. We are having such a hard time at home right now. I thought being a sahm mom would help more but I don’t know where to begin. I tried implementing your tools however my son isn’t interested. Should there be a certain setting to do this? We also have a 1yo at home as well so it’s a bit chaotic.

Hello I have a question. My 2 year old son and 3 year old son have speech delay. Will this help them. I have been working with joint attention as well as flash cards. But My 2 year old will take the card right out of my hand. I do use like alphabet flash cards as well flash cards with words & pictures. My 3 year old has dysarthria. Is there anything else that I can help them. I was recently told that speech & eating goes hand in hand. My 2 and 3 year olds are on feeding tubes. They have low muscle tone as well. Do you have any advice for me. I would greatly appreciate it. Great video , Thank you and have a great day.

Hey Linda, yes you're right - feeding and speech are very related. I would say teach her as many signs as you can to help her communication.

Good afternoon Sir Ming, I have a client of 5yo, he is on the spectrum and I am his therapist but his family members find it hard getting toys or tools for him. They said he has destroyed so much. I use the waiting room of their house as our class. So Bryan has to use the sofa and not a proper chair and table. He hardly sits for 10secs and I usually teach him that way. Most times we both sit on the floor to learn (he is more comfortable that way and would rather jump up and down the sofa). He also doesn't talk and can only say "eeee eee" and recently learned how to hum nursery rhymes. Do you have any tips for me? I would also love to register for your classes.

My nephew 4 yrs old is talkative and like to tell stories (sample they went swimming, he will tell you about it) but he talks very fast and most of time we cant understand him and we have to guess his words or whatever he is saying. Good sample is the world "watermelon" but he says it like this "patuminum". His name is Andrew but he says it "Anduu" Does he need speech therapy?

@@AgentsofSpeech thank you for getting back to me. I dont think the parents will birng action as the are not very attentive to the child's needs. 🥹 I am also not in the position to intervene, sadly.
