Do you need the tattoo sleeve before you join the swat team or do you get it after you join? Or does it make you more qualified when you apply? Asking for a friend. Thanks
Spot on about the Corpsman comment. Its pretty cool to see that SWAT teams medics have a similar experience to Navy HM's that are with Marine infantry units!
This was awesome to hear. I go to the academy Oct 1 and my short term goal is to be on a specialty team of some sort. This was awesome to hear and I'm definitely going to go listen to the full podcast! 🙏🏼
Honestly, these guys were super annoying and know it alls. The poor man was just trying to explain himself and kept getting cut off. It just sucks that they lack respect and don’t use enthusiasm as an excuse to cover up their actions.. a man with experience is speaking in the room. If it were me, I’d stay silent and listen to everything this man has to say; truly an inspiration.
Our SWAT medics are actually police officers. I have a background in EMS, but never really touched fire. Now I’m only a police officer but kept my paramedic cert. perfect candidate for swat medic. All the firemen get mad I’m taking their position from them 😢😂 boohoo
As a fmr FMF greenside Corpsman and current SRT medic, this is 100% accurate. Served in Desert Storm and was a nurse after. Been a CVICU nurse for a minute and got into LE where they needed a medic for the team. I love it and I love my guys! 'Rah!
I was in a swap raid December 21 and Wildcrest, New Jersey, and the I walked in to meet the guy Chriz for buying a pocketbook the holiday. I went outside to smoke. I went back inside, sat down and swat made entry I thought it was robber. I had no idea it was a swat team they put guns in my face didn’t talk to me didn’t let me know. They didn’t let me know if they killed the two guys out front cause I heard two gunshots because I was hiding behind a bedroom door. They smashed the door on me. They wrapped two guns on my face and then kept me outside in handcuffs for six hours, searching me two times. It was awful was the most awful experience I had, and I was only in the house a total of eight minutes probably four minutes outside in four minutes inside, no one seen me. Where was the sniper there to take me out of it before I could get killed because this was a high wrist warrant this guy Chriz, that was selling the purse had a complaint warrant more and probably causing conspiracy and I was no part of it I didn’t even know I just met the guy to buy a purse
The small side of the median is about $111,000, I checked it out cause I wanna do it but I’m worried about a big cut in pay. Probably be alright depending on the starting pay.
Your question is so broad. Local and state guys depends what state, California for example pays A LOT. Kentucky, South Carolina, states like those pays peanuts and it’s an absolute joke to be a LEO in those states. Federal depends largely on which agency. VA police? Department of defense police? They get paid peanuts. BORTAC, ICE, MARSHALS, FBI etc, they get paid decent.
