Phase 6 has eleven slots for upcoming movies and shows, but they only revealed 3. Fantastic 4 and Avengers 5 and 6. This has us wondering, what movies and series are going to fill in those 8 empty slots? [clip]
First up, the X-Men [clip]
We think it’s safe to say that the X-Men will have a role to play in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and definitely in Avengers: Secret Wars. [clip]
Meaning that prior to those films we think we’ll be getting our very first MCU X-Men film or maybe even a series. [clip]
After all, the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel did give us our first confirmation of the existence of Mutants in universe 616. [clip]
I make that specification because we did see Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in Multiverse of Madness, but that was in universe 838. [clip]
And then of course we saw Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in WandaVision, but he turned out to be… [clip, Ralph Bophner]
I’d love to see an X-Men film that gives us a deeper understanding of mutants in the MCU. Rumor has it that this X-Men movie will actually be titled “The Mutants.” [clip]
After the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home bringing back classic pre-MCU Marvel actors. Along with the confirmation that we are in The Multiverse Saga. I’d love to see a film that features more experienced mutants from another universe, such as the Fox X-Men universe. [clip]
Or a group of angry X-Men from the 838 universe who are seeking to avenge the death of Professor Charles Xavier. [clip]
And the way they get into the 616 universe is because an incursion has begun. [clip, Reed explaining incursions, Charlize Theron Incursion]
Now if we’re going to talk about mutants, we can’t forget the merc with a mouth. [clip]
We know Deadpool 3 is coming and despite its R rating it will still be considered a part of the MCU lineup. And we think it’s all but certain that Deadpool will show up in Avengers: Secret Wars. [clip]
With Deadpool 1 and 2 now being on Disney+, it makes us wonder if we could see an X-Force series as a part of Phase 6. [clip, Deadpool saying “X-Force.”]
And with more and more adult and even R rated content showing up on Disney Plus. Perhaps we could see the continuation of more of Netflix’s Marvel shows. [clip]
Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher are all now streaming on Disney Plus. And Daredevil is continuing in Phase 5 with Daredevil: Born Again. So maybe some of these Phase 6 slots include new seasons of Punisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and more. [clip, Iron Fist upset he wasn't mentioned]
Next up we’ve got Armor Wars, a series starring Don Cheadle’s War Machine. [clip, boom you looking for this?”]
This series was announced in December 2020 at D23. So when it wasn’t even mentioned as part of Phase 5 or 6, that had many fans perplexed. [clip]
For whatever behind the scenes reasons Marvel opted not to mention Armor Wars at Comic Con. We can say with great certainty that Armor Wars will be announced at this year's D23 as a part of Phase 6. [clip, the 2nd “boom you looking for this” where people laugh and Rhodie feels vindicated.]
Wakanda Forever is going to be closing out Phase 4. In the trailer released at Comic Con we got our first look at the MCU’s Namor the Submariner. [clip]
Namor is essentially Marvel’s Aquaman. [clip]
He’s a very important character in the comics and even served as a member of the Illuminati. So a solo venture following his character in Phase 6 isn’t out of the question.
Speaking of Wakanda Forever, Danai Gurira is confirmed to be starring as Okoye in her very own Disney Plus series. [clip]
Not much is known about the plot of this series. But Wakanda Forever’s director, Ryan Coogler, is reportedly producing it.
Phase 5 will be closing out with the long awaited Thunderbolts movie. A group of anti-heroes founded by Thunderbolt Ross. [clip]
Baron Zemo will definitely be a part of this Thunderbolt’s team. [clip, dancing]
