As the novel Coronavirus has affected almost the entire world, India and many other countries have been in lockdown for several months. Expecting vaccines to get developed shortly, India has many challenges ahead in distribution and monitoring the vaccination across country. Mr Reddy is currently the President, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and formerly headed the Department of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He has served on many WHO experts' panels and has been the President of the World Heart Federation (2013-14). He also has been chairman of the Core Advisory Group on Health and Human Rights for the National Human Rights Commission of India for several years and was a member of the first National Science and Engineering Research Board of Government of India.⠀
He has published more than 500 scientific publications in international and Indian peer reviewed-journals. Mr Reddy was conferred the Padma Bhushan Award from the President of India for his contribution to Public health in 2005.
