Very helpful buddy. If anyone has a complete list of the possible compliments that would great. I always here new ones every day. Today was 搞不定. But these compliments are super helpful as they get used literally all the time.

Prefixes to verbs like 已 are also important and interesting topic for a lesson apart

很棒!great 有几个小问题 1闻(smell)一般和到连用, 闻的见我觉得只有 方言(dialects)里才有。 2我吃不下(了)(前面的那个'我吃不下‘’)means(infers) I am already full and I can't eat any more 我不能吃()才是I can't eat() 3 ‘’我站住了‘’这个表达非常奇怪,infers you almost falling down but not. and scarcely used in speaking. or a culprit shows his surrender and he will not move anymore,also scarecely used.

Are they like classifiers for the numbers? Classifiers work according to the type or category of the object(s) counted. Result complements work with verbs according to their meaning.

The 了 is one of the most complicated usages. It is hard to explain rules of using 了 with 'not' meaning because there are many exception. For example, it should be 我不知道, however, we also say 我沒有了. All of the usages are just for speaking smoothly.

hello, I'm so confused with these tones things! You say we have to pay attention to the right tones when we pronounce the words, but sometimes there are words that arent spoken with their tones (for example "Bu" in this video), and also sometimes the tones change when getting paired in particular combinations... how do i keep up with these tones things, it drives me crazy
@haniw916
@haniw916 6 лет назад
Oh, and also I often get confuse differentiate tones.. why sometimes I feel the tones of the words I hear is not the right tones it should be.. can u give me tips for learning tones...
@FluentinMandarinDotCom

There are only actually a few tone change rules. Mostly they behave like they are supposed to :-)

First of all: 谢谢老师制作视频. 但是我有一个问题: I know that 我会做 means "I can do it" in terms of a learned skill. But what's the difference between 我做得到 and 我能做 then?
@TheAndyLP24
@TheAndyLP24 6 лет назад
Another question: I noticed that you put 他睡得着 for "He can get to sleep". So, I see you omit the second part of the two part verb 睡觉 here. Does this work similarly with all two part verbs, like 游泳? E.g. 我游得着 for "I can swim"?
@FluentinMandarinDotCom
@FluentinMandarinDotCom 6 лет назад
我能做 emphasises your 'ability' to do the thing, and 我做得到 emphasises your ability to complete the task more, but they are pretty similar. 我能做到 and 我做得到 are essentially the same.
@FluentinMandarinDotCom
@FluentinMandarinDotCom 6 лет назад
It's because these two part verbs are actually made up of a verb and an object put together. The first character is the verb and the 2nd character is the object. When you have a complement, it is replacing the 'object' of the two character verb. Be careful though, because not all complements can go with all verbs, you have to pick this up from hearing a lot of examples.

@laris.official

You're always using ones with "de". I see, you want to show "Wo ting de jian", but who needs that bro? All I need to say is "Wo tingdao nimen jiang guoyu" which means "I heard you speaking Mandarin". You make it too complicated. Make a video of some best correct sentences to learn, also simple said ones. It will be easier for people to learn. It's easy for you if you know all of this. Chinese language is hard for beginners, so, speaking it simple makes you feel better and it makes Chinese language easy.

I think you're not a native speaker. The 得 thing is actually quite important in Mandarin because it makes the sentence sounds more natural and makes the ability mood more clear. The essential stuffs must be learned even if we want to simplify them.
@matthewbitter532
@matthewbitter532 4 года назад
Verb complements are quite frequently used. Plus the de particles and also is another way to express ability aside from néng and degree. Yes, you can get by just using tingdao all the time. But if you really want to speak like a native speaker, you gotta use these compliments. It the same as using the perfect forms in English (ie. He had eaten it). But you can get by just using the past tense (ie. He ate it) and it would almost mean the same thing You people say Chinese grammar is so easy but when things get difficult, you'll reluctant to using like a native speaker.
