Heather, can your next video be on how you set up your paincave, like step by step from placement of equipment, wahoo set-up, do you have the wahoo KOM? Swift app set-up, etc? What ultra trail running shoes do you recommend for training and racing? I can see in this video the "NEW" hunger you have acquired to succeed in Gravel and ultra running. What you stated bout what are you looking forward In your pursuit of gravel and ultra events, is exactly what Norway coach Alexander Blu described in a podcast(an hour & 27min long) with Rob Roll. You gotta listen and learn from it. You have inspired me to do an Ultra 50km event in August 2023 and I will approach it by your earlier statement in this video: "How can I accomplish a 10 hour event flawlessly" My mental mantra thanks to you will be: "10 flawless hours, here I GO!" Btw, 10 hours is the allowed time to finish the 50 km event. That's Tons of Time, No Problemo! But the best part of the event will be post finish festivities: 2-3 Kraft -Brew Kegs, Pulled Pork BBQ, River Swimming (hopefully naked) woohoo!!, and corn hole and horseshoes! Can't beat dat with a stick! GG! Team Heather.
This video makes me feel so proud and honored to be on the Plush Hit Squad. HJ is the epitome of a classy and smart athlete. Sometimes we need a break from sports we love, and sometimes we don’t always have the courage to find something else. Here’s hoping with the new endeavors she finds some time to do a few more tris so I can watch her race in person. ❤
When I feel like something is too hard in a workout, I ´channel my inner Heather Jackson’ and it always helps me get it done. Your enthusiasm for new challenges is so contagious and motivating! Best of luck in your 2023 goals!
It's so inspiring for me to see this transition from you because I see it in myself also. For me it was my age and knowing my time in endurance sports is limited and I wanted new adventures and experiences. This is year is trying my first 2 Ultras both are camping fun weekends and I just want the WHOLE experience!! Thank you to you and Wattie for making these videos! They inspire me more than you could ever imagine!
Stevie doing the workout was so cute!! Love what you said in the description box for the video about chapters are meant to be written. I haven't written much lately, but what am I waiting for? Thank you for sharing all of this!
Great to have you focus on ultra! Heather as you asked, the technical name for the poles is 'wizard sticks'. And they will save your life one day. 🧙♂️🏔️🏃♀️
Love the enthusiasm! Didn’t win a ticket in the lottery for UTMB and was totally bummed this morning. But took it as a chance to replan my season, all cards on the table, and reinvent the next few months. Your video absolutely underlined my thoughts today and had me in huge smiles. And yes “only 20 miles” is insane, but such a great place to be. We are lucky. Excited to watch you this year and wish you all the best!
Heather - congrats on a great 2022 season and tri career! As an older age grouper (63) endurance athlete (Multi 140.6 & 70.3 finisher) one thing I've learned is, if you're not having fun you're not doing it right. Great to see those smiles and enthusiasm! Keep looking/moving forward, and by all means, have fun and enjoy it! (my 2023 calendar includes 2x 70.3's some shorter tri's and some epic bike rides!) All the best in 2023 and in your new endurance adventures! Cheers!
I'm very happy! I am a trail runner, and I follow you because you are a great athlete and person. And knowing that you will now be running ultratrails motivates me even more! You are amazing! I hope you do very well in everything, and have a great year, with very good experiences!
Hello! Happy New Year! Woohoo! I love your videos. You being so motivated and having the courage to get out of your comfort zone to take on a new challenge is fantastic. The scenery is beautiful and Stevie is adorable. The support you have with your husband is fantastic. It will be fun to see your races this year! I know you said Stevie doesn’t like the leash….I use a harness to run with my dogs and it didn’t take them long to get use to it. It frees up the collar around the neck so they are running with more force on their shoulders and it seems to be more comfortable for them…they have quite a few different harnesses on the market…just a thought. Anyway, happy training!
Happy New Year! Looking forward to seeing your ultra, gravel, and other adventures as well as hearing your insights about the process and journey. I have to confess that I have now decided to watch your videos twice. They get me so motivated that I always have to listen or watch (if possible) from the trainer but then I always want to watch again when I need a mid-day boost. Thanks for keeping me and a whole bunch of folks going!
Hi Heather, totally loving the videos, each one is like a brilliant documentary, and your joy is sooo inspiring and just generally brilliant to watch. Thank you✌
I‘d love to do at least one snow run. But here (middle of Germany) it’s been rainy and muddy for the last four weeks. Great vid! Thanks for bringing us along on the journey.
I have those same poles. They will work great for you. Suggestion put a little lubricant in the joints when used in sandy trails as they will at times get stuck.
I think it would so rad when you qualify and if you get into the UTMB! I don’t know of any elite tri athletes that have done that?! Might not be on the radar yet but it’s an exciting possibility.
Little pole tip... Thread your hands through the straps from the bottom up so that the strap sits in your hand rather than on your wrist. This will allow you to push off and down on the poles as you hike up a hill. You'll also be able to push off the poles more since you're using the strap vs gripping the pole with your hand. Let me know if that makes sense, if not, hit me up on IG and I'll happily show you over a video/tag you in a video.
Z carbon poles are perfect for trail running. I prefer fixed lengthen poles, but the ones you got should work perfectly! What ultras are you looking to do this year? I just signed up for the Never Summer 100k in July. Can't wait!
Whomever thought flashing a paragraph for 3 seconds was a good way tell a story was wrong! Love watching your stories of your training trials as I go through my own as a senior masters cyclist. Please don’t take my critique as negative, just an observation that I thought could have made the video more informative. 🙏💕🚵✌️
I'll agree to disagree, there are only 3 six second (not 3 second) quotes used to open those scenes, so I'm not sure what you are talking about. If the entire video was words then maybe I would see your point. Thanks for your comment.
