I get what your saying guys about credentials and all. But I reckon JM is more talking about taking the manager talk away from the team, so everyone, i.e, media, fans, players, etc, can concentrate on football alone. Better to have someone in charge, instead of constantly talking about candidates.Especially with competitive games coming up. The longer that goes on, there’s no clear direction or planning can be made clear. Fans will be left in dark, players won’t be motivated because on confusion, and the team will see itself falling further behind. Just appoint someone. Whether it’s O’Shea, Kerr, cascarino, or any of the million and one names mentioned.
OShea is totally unfit for the Ireland job. This is no job for a rookie coach. Oshea has lost 3 of his 4 caretaler matches in charge and Ireland have been outplayed in all 4 games possession wise. Look at Stephen Kenny he was a complete disaster with Ireland even though he had league of Ireland experience at club level. OShea hasn't even got loi experience and he would be even worse than kenny. Forget oshea, if the Football Association of Ireland cant get in a top quality experienced manager then go back in again for Neil Lennon who has a track record of Success in Scotland club football. McClean knows nothing about recommendating managers for the Ireland job. God Help us if Oshea gets the job full time that will be another wasted 2 or 4 years. Its time to stop scraping the bottom the bottom of the barrel with ex players like oshea, Remember Stan Staunton, what a flop he was too . No current ex rep. Ireland player is up to the coaching standard that Ireland require to be successful.
So who else should get the job then? What manager is available with the credentials you outlined and who would be willing to take it? Neil Lennon has just been appointed to a club job in Romania
Stop giving managers without any credentials managerial jobs because of 1 or do half decent results. Look at United with Solsjaer, Chelsea with Lampard the list goes on. Waste another couple of years with a manager not good enough for the role
Two of the managers who got their teams promoted to the PL last season were in their first jobs. Plenty of others succeed in their first roles.. #FacePalm
