Yeah, Tekken is (for me at least) the best fighting game when it comes to representing actual martial art and sports, I'll take Juri from SF as an example, she mostly uses Tae-Kwondo and I had no fucking idea despite knowing what it is.
I think i fought you couple of days ago, and I thought DAMN THIS GUY IS GOOOOD. I was playing hworang as well, very very nice play I loved how you synced the moves!
I love loved Hwarang since Tekken Advanced lol, he requires a LOT more skill to use than others but it is really rewarding to use among other characters
Nah not that tight. Pretty easy tbh. Though this combo is nerfed in the CBT. The wall carry was better during the CNT as you can do heat burst and heat dash in one combo and still follow-up with u/f 3+4 for the wall carry. Now you can only follow it up with one hit attacks like ff4 or cd3 and can't wallsplat
Say wtv you want but Hworang and Eddy are the most iconic and unique characters of any fighting game in history. Even if you've never played a fighting game in your life you definitely heard of those 2 legends. I think that's what makes Tekken in general the BIGGEST fighting game franchise of all time. The unique styles and desings of some characters..dudes like Raven, King, Feng, Steve, Yoshimitsu even the evil versions of the 2 main characters etc.. AND ALL THE GUEST CHARACTERS that just left us mind blowed are some of the reasons that other fighting games literally die after a new Tekken comes out. Truly a master piece !!
Yo yo homie, think when I get this game later today since that’s when it drops, could you train me in the ways of Hworrang. Like mixes and stuff (don’t worry I have some knowledge of stances so I’ll pick up what you teach)
Is it possible to successfully play him only with kicks? I want to make a Sanji alt use him as a secondary lol. I casually played him in 7 but do wanna put in more work in 8.
It's possible, but your Hwoarang would not really be practical. Because the punches are usually his faster moves and you need these moves to safely close a round. It is also a safe way to transition him into the risky flamingo stances. The punches are also the bread and butter in Hwoarang combos and wall-carries.
The startup frames are pretty slow so it can be easily interrupted by a jab if done from neutral. It gives pretty good plus frames on block but not exactly sure how much. Also not sure if Ling's AOP can get below it though I don't think it will since I think I have seen black kite even hitting grounded enemies.
His moves are fast and quickly transitions him from one stance to another so I can see why it's hard to read him lol. But most Hwoarang players are flowchart-y ish. Once you get to know their pattern, you can actually find openings to his pressure. He has a lot of high strings so try ducking or duck jabbing to interrupt his attacks.
All this coloring and animation making the game much more simulated fighting to me... It's like they're following to Arcade life of Killer Instinct, MK and SF... I liked the basic game animation of yesteryear
True tekken ends on tekken 3 and based on tekken 2 and 3 tekken tag series. Now parts are piece of shit, full of neons. Maybe tekken 7 is just a little is woth playing, but in general is a crap for noobs.
