Love these broken down versions of your lecture. It’s a nice refresher and I still enjoy watching them. I have a woodworking business. I take many different types of jobs like furniture making, Art, trim/finish carpentry (built-ins, beams, mantles, trim and paneling), handyman fixes, refinishing and antique restorations. Like you, I’m a history buff but I’ve only studied furniture. Needless to say, Having found your channel has really filled in a gap for me. It’s really nice to know little details about the history of some of these moldings and architectural designs. When helping choose moldings with clients, I can now say little historical facts about them. Eg. the period of which they originated or simple things like how the egg and dart molding represents new life. Lol makes me feel really good 😊 Any chance we can get similar lectures on furniture history? Anyone else laugh every time he says, “grab another beer”? Lol 😂 because even though I’ve heard it before, I can’t help myself.

I really appreciate you making this video. I’m taking historical styles now and I got confused with both styles. Thank you so much!

I eagerly look forward to each new release. I really appreciate seeing the timeline of the styles and the evolution of details. I was involved in a heavily researched and very detailed Georgian early in my career and didn't really know where it fit in the timeline.

Hi Brent. Love the videos alot! I was wondering if you could touch on how to design a column for a house as a basis for all the trim.

I prefer empire imperial architecture of the 1800's, unfortunately builders today do not have the advanced technology to build like the previous humanity did.
