Milk bars over fancy restaurants - change my mind. You guys have to check out Bar Krakowski on Kalwaryjska street on your next visit. Best quality vs price ratio I've seen in terms of pierogi and other traditional polish cuisine in my life. I used to live a 100 metres from there and I couldn't get enough. It all tasted like I remember my mother making it when I was a kid. Prolly gonna go there tomorrow, now that I've mentioned it lol.

9 years in Krakow, and I always say - when people ask if it's cheap? I say it's appropriately priced - compared to other countries there is a lot of value for money. I don't scold people for asking if it's cheap or how cheap it is but I don't use that word myself because that does not explain in properly. We are not "budget", or "cheap", we're value for money.
@GibbyBoy2831

100%. There are some very expensive places in Krakow but for the most part it’s affordable and the fact you can eat great food for less than €10 per day on a budget is wild.
@adanio69
@adanio69 4 месяца назад
@gerryn2 Cheap, in general means low quality, at least in the US. I would rather use terms, like affordable, bargain, low cost, moderately priced etc. Btw: if you visited Poland 30-40 years ago, as a foreigner, then loaf of bread cost an equivalent of $0.10 , bottles of vodka $0.99. I think, prices like these, are still in some pariahs states, like Cuba, North Korea, or Venezuela.

We were planning on walking to the museum and finding a restaurant along the way. We already did the square, we wanted to branch out. The ride was so nice because we got a full tour of the Kazimierz neighborhood which became our favorite place to hang out! And the ticket for the museum is usually 55 złoty which is about 12 euros. Definitely a great deal to take advantage of!

I got a bit lost in these calculations.... you had 100 PLN per person, right? At first I thought it was for two people. but since you subtract 2.50 at the beginning it means 1 bagel.... then you subtract 50 PLN (so for two people such a short ride = 100 PLN, very expensive!!), uber/bolt for this distance is a maximum of 20 PLN, 5 times cheaper.

As Poland doesn't have long street food culture (except zapiekanka and kiełbasa), I kind of missed meat jelly and steak tartare in your street food video, I think they are pretty close to what you can call "street food". Although, if you are foreigner, this might be considered a bit adventurous (well... it is even for some Poles 😅)

Well, thats definitely not true. Poland has the second lowest prices in EU after Bulgaria. And nah, average prices in restaurants in Poland are at least 1/3 of those from London (and i mean cities such as Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Warszawa etc.). Prices of groceries - like 1/2 or 1/3 (depends on product). Or lets put it this way: to live comfortably in London you need to earn at least like 4k pounds. In Kraków (or any other bigger polish city really), like 1,6-2k euro.

Per money exchange: 20.32 USD in 2019 could be exchanged for 77,53 PLN 24.04 USD today can be exchanged for 99,64 PLN It's true that PLN buying power took a little bit more hit, but strangely in 2019 USD would be stronger then today vs PLN.
