WOW Brooks and Christy, thank you so much for doing this video on this blessed ministry, every county needs to have an Isaiah house 117... truly a blessing for all those kids that are in need of love and support...my Niece and her husband has fostered many kids over the years and have adopted 4 of those children in to their family and they are such a truly amazing family...such a beautiful house and a comfy place to stay for those sweet kids... GOD BLESS and will say prayers for all...
I was raising my granddaughter since birth. I'm 68 yrs old. Last yr I got so sick I almost died. If I could I would foster children again. God has plans for me.

After many years our county finally has an Isaiah 117 under construction being built right now! I would always support them at events etc. Tippecanoe County IN

Foster mom of almost triple digit kids, the system is been tough for years. I wanted to make a difference and help where I could. We have private houses used as group homes here where I live and it is great for many. But sadly putting kids in same place that have emotional situations going on can be a hurdle among itself. We have independent housing for when they age out.
I'm a former foster youth who aged out of the Ohio Foster Care system. While it's great that the Isaiah 117 Houses are highlighting the issues with foster youth sleeping at office buildings, but every one of these seems geared for young children - not the teens who are the ones most frequently sleeping at offices and even being put in juvenile detention centers despite not doing anything wrong due to lack of foster homes. Frequently these are not teens being removed from their homes, but disrupted from other foster homes and lack anyone who will take them. For some of these teens, they are living for months in offices or even being dropped off at shelters during the day and returned to an office to sleep at night. Are these teens being helped by Isaiah 117 Houses or are these just for little kids? There's endless support for little kids in foster care, but teens frequently are treated like garbage and no one wants to deal with them. While this seems positive, it seems to be using the reports of foster youth sleeping in offices to promote their charity without seeming to help solve the actual problem of foster youth sleeping in offices.
We would recommend that you watch the video where it is addressed that they work with kids from birth until the day they turn 18. The ministry has no control over which children are brought there. Perhaps we should all be grateful that there is such a ministry out there at all with loving people trying to change the way foster care begins. One change at a time. Maybe your mission could be to start an organization specifically geared towards teens... you seem to have the experience and knowledge. God bless.
@@SmokyMtFaithFoodFun Considering the majority of children in foster care are over the age of 12, this place doesn't seem to be serving them considering it's so focused on small kids and those are kids who never would be housed in office buildings. I saw there were a couple that were purposed in Ohio and asked some people I know who are advocates for foster youth and they laughed. New Isaiah 117 houses do nothing for reducing the number of foster youth sleeping in office buildings. They'd just end up living full time there. No one wants them.

I’ll have to answer for the choices I’ve made on judgment day just as everyone will. I have two autoimmune diseases that fight against each other and 8 years ago I was told I would never walk again. They don’t turn anyone away. The place was born out of love and ministry minded but I can assure you that their hearts are in it for all children. We still love on atheists all the time and believe it or not some of our biggest supporters are atheists. We chose to highlight this ministry as it’s near to our hearts and that’s all it’s about.
