This happened to me on my first B738 flight yesterday. GSX broke my tire on pushback and I wasn't aware of it. I tried to start taxiing and couldn't move. I used much more throttle power to start moving. Then I got a wheel well fire after takeoff as soon as I put my gear up. I wasn't able to clear the failures. I didn't know about the maintenance fix. Thank you!

Thanks, I was really confused because -100fpm shouldn't burst the tires, but it was actually because I overheated the brakes since I did max manual brakes (I forgot to turn on autobrakes)

Sometimes I feel like nose wheel turned to maximum and gets stuck, recently on 787-10. And i always check nosewheel steering switches on them or Bae 146. The ATR is NOTORIOUS for not powering the hydros (and even all brakes😮) at low engine RPM in idle range, plus a glitch where if you HELD the ground aux hudro pump instead of quick click, more issues (like prop brake not engaging). This was a cool topic that no one talks about but happens lot more than once! Great job!

Very helpful, I literally just had this issue last night after landing. Wish I knew then but I just pushed the throttle and slammed the brakes all the way to the gate.... 😒

I can replicate this issue every time I use flight recorder, I'd land, taxi off runway and stop, watch replay of landing a few times from different cam views then when I want to taxi to gate it's like brakes are on and won't move unless it's at 70% throttle.

Thank you. The B737s are my favorite aircraft to fly in the sim but this has been ruining it for me. I will now try these remedies. as for GSX - I bought it but I'm deleting it, its just more trouble than its worth.

Thanks for excellent insight sir. Very helpful information; I have had the tire issue inPMDG, but also seem to have a continuing problem with other aircraft. I have bound one of keys on my Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant to parking brake and that seems to conflict with aircraft systems in some instances. Have deleted key binding but still run into problem with parking brake remaining engaged, despite using mouse to release brake; also get message to use l control + number delete to release brake, but that doesn’t work either. Eventually exit, reload,all on. Anyway thanks for your time and effort in producing this video for us!

Pushback Helper does the same where, especially on the 737, it doesn't actually spawn a tug as PMDG has its own, so the tug will be invisible and never disconnect.

faulty pedals here - they would trigger the brakes constantly preventing parking brake and making taxi a nightmare.... removed the mappings from the sim and assigned a single button to brakes to "fix" the issue until i can either repair or replace the pedals

unfortunately there is at least one other case of aircraft not moving. i dont have gsx, tug and every other external vehicle/device disconnected and still cannot taxi. i even checked the brake pressure and ground friction using the dev tools to make sure that brakes are released. they all seem to free and yet, generally after a sharp turn, the aircraft just stops without any brake input and unless full thrust is applied for almost a minute, it does not move. i am afraid i wont buy any more msfs aircraft including pmdg untill this issue gets fixed somehow because it really is a mood killer. in case pmdg requires some screenshots or video or anything to debug it, i will be more than happy to share it!

This happened to me after I landed, and was trying to get off the runway, I had to use the aircraft slew buttons to move it off the runway. I also buttered the landing at a -22 rate, so it’s not like I landed hard enough to damage the tires or gear.

I just noticed under failures, I somehow developed a tire failure? Don’t no how?

It was pitch black and I didnt spot I had taxid the back wheels onto some grass I had to use ambitious pilots tug to move me back forwards before I could start to taxi Luckily I wasnt on Vatsim so it spared me the embarrassment

Thanks again for this. Inability to taxi has been ruining my experience of these excellent aircraft. Today I tried to implement your great tips but found that when I went to reset my failed tires they would not reset. I see see now, on 2nd viewing of your useful video, that you cover this by showing how you may need to reset the brakes as well - which I will do next time. But can I ask this simple question? Why is PMDG completely devastating these great aircraft by totally over-engineering the failure system? It's wrecking it. What's next? We can't taxi because we haven't logged the pilot's hours and appraisal status. There's simulation and over-simulation. I would respectfully say that just because PMDG can program it doesn't mean they should.

I'm honestly not even sure what I should say Steve, PMDG have simulated the tires and brakes to a realistic degree. Killing your tires REALLY takes some very strong mishandling of the plane. I've done some intense braking and landings in the real plane and didn't even get close to blowing tires. I know some simmers really just know full brakes or no brakes, but if you drive your 737 in any way similar to how you would drive a car you'll never encounter these issues. You don't need a pilot license for that.

I'm a great admirer of your videos and I guess this must be an issue for others or you wouldn't have made a video of it. The 737s are my favorite 'planes in the sim, so I'll just have to wrap my head round that maintenance sked...

@@steveclarkemedia Thank you Steve! Indeed, gentle braking should be all you need. Imagine driving your car: You don't always push the brake pedal down to the floor just to loose a few miles per hour, do you? Why would you in an airplane then? ;-) There's one exception, that is GSX. GSX can often kill the brakes and tires during its pushback operation. If it doesn't start taxiing after a GSX pushback, check your maintenance menus and clear the failures. And then complain at them why they induce a constant thousand feet downforce during their pushbacks.

@@A330Driver Thanks Emmanuel. I'll give it a go. But GSX, that's another thing - I bitterly regret buying it. I've expunged most of it from my system but I think I've still got Couatl on there somewhere and will now ditch that, as I think you mention. There's just something not right about that set up.

I have A few questoom About the PDMG 737 800 i play on Xbox 1 I Tried the Servicing it with FMC 2 The Yoke Is Turns Left Before start the Flight 3 The Plane wheels dont turn Left to Right Thank You

Once In a while my hydraulic fluids are drained completely in the pmdg. Although a simple maintenance job of refilling fixes it, it’s still something odd. Have you seen that?

Basic IT principle: If something is broken, go through a list of everything you think it could be and go through each one individually until it’s fixed

yeah make a list, but also try to sort it by "amount of work required" too ... "reinstalling windows" as the first option and unplug and "plug back the usb device" as last would be silly.

It may be a simple answer - but can we get a proper procedure regarding lights? when to turn on/off landing lights, taxi lights, strobe etc (I usually turn them on/off at 10000 feet) but I never really know what lights to do when properly. do I turn on all 4 landing lights with all 3 taxi lights on> some on some off etc. chjeers.

I updated the 700 last night and my push back still doesn't turn the aircraft. The tug is trying to turn but the aircraft stays straight. any ideas?

Had a similar issue in tiller+rudder steering mode. When I turned it to rudder only it worked better. I suggest to contact the PMDG support on support.pmdg.com.
