It looks like on the 1961 Popcorn there's rat damage on the bottom small claw damage. Onion soup after 5 in a half years never loses it's strong refining smell waxed or canned seals up well.
No, this video isn't boring at all. I don't know what it is about your videos, but they always relax me and put me at ease after a stressful day. You have very unique and different interests than me, so I always learn a lot of things I didn't know before. Keep doing what you're doing, because it works.
I'm struggling with depression and find it hard to get excited about anything, but you have a new video, so there has been some joy in my day. Thank you for taking the time out of your life to share your passions on RU-vid. It's clear how much care you put into your videos and they really do feel uniquely special to watch. All the best from the UK. I'm a huge fan.
@@stevenkimsey7039 I have seen some of the drain videos and found them very relaxing. Not as relaxing as Post's voice though. I could (and do!) listen to him talk for hours. I will have to try the overnight camping ones next :)
@Modern Classic Collectables So sorry to hear that. Extremely tough. I'm glad we have these videos in common to let sunshine in through the clouds for a short time.
Hello from Ukraine! Thanks for making this video. Really helped me to understand what food I shouldn't eat in an emergency while sitting in the basement.
I might have mentioned this before, but I opened a can of whole tomatoes that was 10 years past the expired date, and they were delicious!! The can was made of steel, and the brand was Western Family both in USA & Canada. I haven't seen their brand since 2020 so, I don't know if they are still around, but I'm hoping! Excellent film+
I still use the hand-held can opener I grew up with (1970s), and it is better than any other one I have found since then, whether from a dollar store or a thrift store or a flea market.
I love seeing all the packaging history you have on display, and I've always been curious about canned/sealed food preservation as a huge fan of post-apocalypse media I always wondered to myself if people eating that supposed old ass canned foods in those games/movies/books would actually ever hold up. I do think dehydration is the best preservation method possible though, so long as you're gonna have access to clean water lol.
I don't usually drink a lot of dairy milk but I use it in cooking and sometimes I just can't have cake, cookies or brownies without some milk. They're more expensive but I keep several of the smaller juice box size shelf stable milks around (even keep a couple in the fridge so they stay cold) because they last forever and you just never know. No more big containers of spoiled milk going to waste.
Lovely collection. I'm curious when dehydrated camping meals first came out , the 70s?... they are basically commercialized MREs. Investing in a dehydrator along with a vacuum bag sealer are also good long term food storage solutions. And you do have a Sawyer!
You are one interesting dude, man. I found your channel just a couple weeks ago. Already, I have learned so much. Keep doing what you're doing! Total win.
Loved the video, Post. It was great to get a behind the scenes tour along with your narration and insight. It was nice to see your Post 10 set up too. FYI, I got my "Idiot with an excavator" mug today. Keep up the great work on all your channels!
No this video was not boring at all! Infact it was one of the most informative videos I think so far! I really enjoyed it! Thanks for testing stuff & letting us know whats best for long term storage! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
I’ve enjoyed this video seeing what you have and what was good and what wasn’t. I discovered this channel in the last few months and have had to go back and watch all your other ones. Good work. Plus love the Post10 channel as well.
I don't know if you know, but there is actually a grocery store museum where they keep packages of every product ever made. Companies use it for research when they want to come up with new stuff. I don't remember the name or where it is, because I don't feel like looking it up right now, but they did a segment on it for the show Unwrapped. Look it up if you feel like it. I think there actually might be two such museums. It's set up like a grocery store.
I heard that familiar voice, from the Post 10 channel, so I had to subscribe. I do have a Food Science degree, from early 1993, and my professors taught us,, that those dates on cans and food packages, are " best used by dates" , not expires dates. As long as a can is not bulging or leaking, it's edible, but might not taste good. Of course if one is starving, " beggars can't be choosers" .
This was good Im going to look for cases of canned food like you have. I have a cold basement that would be great for storing food but it cost to much to stock up but maybe if I get cases it would be cheaper. I guess ill have a look at amazon now right now while im thinking of it
29:10 we use that milk in the Army too! Actually I was quite surprised the first time that I saw it in the civilian world, I thought it was just something we had in the military
I love your videos! Thanks for giving us a tour! I also really appreciate how you don't cut the video all time like some RU-vidr's. Multiple cuts every 5 secs really distracts me and you don't do that. Makes me feel like I'm there and we're hanging out.
It would be awesome if you can find/try vintage coffee. Every time I'm in antique stores I check if the tobacco or coffee tins are still full and unused, but alas they are always empty.
Fun video that covers a wide swathe of products. Yer killin' me tho, you kept going past the cans of dried onions!! I ran into some rancid ones from a can once, I was wondering how your interactions went with those. Thanks.
If you still have any of the cars and bikes macaroni and if it's still in good enough condition, you should use it to make some kind of art piece, probably by gluing it to something and maybe painting it. (Unless you can think of a better way to use it for art - maybe a sculpture or resin casted object or something) Make an grown up version of a kid's school art project, possibly some kind of wall hanging or something.
Thanks for the video. I've been sub to this channel for many years now. To be fair. I found post 10 channel from this channel. 😁😁😁 p s. I like long form videos. Depends on my mood. So this was very informative.
That thing @32:44 Is really pretty. I love the bones in canned fish. I even grind the bones from fresh cooked fish slowly and swallow it for extra minerals. I also love hot sauce my my favorites are Dave's spooky Ghost Pepper and Melinda's Ghost Pepper Hot Sauces the spicier the better. Very informative and entertaining video as usual.
