@@GoodDayFarm I actually have multiple chains for the 034. I've got full skip semi and full chisel and full comp semi and full chisel. The 034 I primarily use for felling, bucking and limbing and the 171 is for trimming and limbing.
Yea it makes sense - in most scenarios bigger saw, bigger chain. I put your link in the description of that video, didn't think to add it when I put the video out. Also congrats on 1k subs. I got to 1k before the cut off and still got demonitized, waiting on a account review now.
Yeah, that’s the basic rule. Some cutter styles and types of wood can allow you to vary from that though. Thanks for sharing the link. Yeah, this whole sub thing is ridiculous. I’ve been over 1000 a few times since the new rules, but always loose subs within 24 hours. Then I’ll just hang at 995ish for a few days. Almost like RU-vid is controlling my sub count. No matter, I’ll keep doing videos! Thanks again!
I had the same thing happen. Had a real struggle getting over 1000. I lost 2 to 4 almost every night, none during the day though. Really drove me crazy.
Awesome seeing you Travis. This is getting bad I'm having to put my finger on my screen to cover that name on your shirt lol gives me shivers. Great video packed with very useful information. Hope you're all well. Stay safe regards from across the pond
Bobinski Brooks :: Come on Mr Brooks! It’s just a shirt. Not anywhere near as menacing and overwhelmingly powerful as the saws it represents! Hoping all is well with You and Yours! Blessings All!
Saw Surgeon lol might have to send Travis a real time shirt with husqvarna on. As always friend its good to hear from you. Love and sincere best wishes to you and yours from the bobinski family and all the farm crew
Stihl ms290 comes stock with .063 guage- .325 pitch chain. Some are modified to use .050 guage- 3/8 pitch chain. Husqvarna comparable saw comes stock with .050 guage- .325 pitch chain. Many Chinese comparable saws come with 3/8 pitch- .058 guage chains. Could you please explain further this difference in comparable cc saws having different chains? Could you please explain what the advantage is of modifying the ms290 to .050 guage- 3/8 pitch?
Sorry I didn’t get back sooner. Gauge difference, I don’t know, but the cutter difference is all about chip size. Probably just engineers trying to match the best cutter with the power of the saw. For the Chinese saws, it might be about availability. I would only convert a 290 to 3/8 if it was going to be a full chisel chain, and you can keep it sharp. And I would only do it then if I had several other saws running the same, so it makes swapping easy. If all you have is the one saw, I’d stay with the .325. It might not cut as fast, but the saw will be happier. I ran 3/8 on a 029, it did ok, but you had to really ease into the cut or it would bog. I eventually upgraded to a 362 and sold the 029. 👍
no problem and then i show how to you prep the saws i know you got newer ones but its always go to change out sprockets replace grease the jack bearing i'm sorry to hear you don't have job but these are cheap and simple ideals me personally i'm a arborist and saw maintenance is key player in having a trouble free season
