What are the challenges you will face after moving from India to the UK? I moved to the UK from India 5 months ago with my family and dogs and it’s been challenging to say the least. Since we moved to England, we’ve had our fair share of challenges. Some expected, some not.
In this video, I talk about the challenges you should expect after moving to the UK and what you can do about them. I also address some issues you might face with children and pets.
A lot of folks think that post the move, relocating yourself can be thrilling. Well, I can assure you that there's a lot more to it than that. A move to the UK is a big deal by itself and add to it cultural nuances and you're suddenly faced with challenges you did not anticipate and that can take you by surprise. Hence, I figured it would be helpful to you if I shared the challenges I faced after moving to the UK so you knew in advance what you'd be up against.
There’s a lot I haven’t addressed, like the fact that you can’t watch a lot of streaming services after moving to the UK like Hotstar or Amazon Prime (you need to take Prime membership from the UK) or the fact that large format supermarkets won’t carry Indian food you are used to. But to be honest, there are always workarounds for this so they aren’t really challenges anymore.
I make videos every week on moving to the UK or London and life in the UK once you get here.

Nothing u said would make people move to UK, its even more expensive than before, congested and poor quality of life and salaries havent gone up in 10 years. Better to look at other countries or stay in India with family and friends

I like how you explain each and every thing with tips to anyone moving from India to UK..Also i wanted to ask that is London too costly for MBA?If yes,what would be the cost for 2years program?
@AbsolutelyAshika
@AbsolutelyAshika 2 года назад
Thank you Ayush. Getting an MBA from the UK is a very good decision. The costs vary depending on the institution and can even start at £7,500 depending on the courses you select and the university by itself and of course the location. You can even explore courses outside London.

Hi Sahil. There’s a lot of jobs that offer a visa especially if your skill set is one that is a niche and not readily available in the UK. I’d suggest you look at cities that you are considering and reaching out to them

You are kidding right saying doctors charge a huge consultation fee. Do you realise how many years they put into to become one. Minimum 10 years for a single specialisation. Not to mention many start working then to pay off their medical school fee. It's ironic people crib so much paying a doctor's fee for their own health, but they wouldn't think twice booking their favorite restaurant or movie even if it costs much more than that.

Hi Sophia. There's no doubt that doctors pay a huge sum to specialise. That being said, its not regular people who are charging medical students that amount so I don't agree with passing off the cost to regular consumers. Colleges and medical institutions get rich off medical students, not the general population. In an ideal scenario, healthcare should be free in any country collecting exorbitant taxes, where the govt bears the costs from taxes collected. Like with any profession, I have the utmost respect for doctors who know their profession well and are committed to helping people get better. That being said, as a consumer, it is our right to "voice our opinion" on costs we are expected to pay for, just as it is the right of the one offering a service to charge what he or she thinks fit. Free speech.

The argument that doctors take long to specialize is bs, the patient obviously should not bear that cost. I am a doctor. The issue though is that patients blame the doctor for the charges. Running a clinic or tiny hospital while maintaining the conditions to ensure patients are not at the risk of hospital acquired infections is not cheap. When the government isn't providing good quality health care at subsidized rates and a doctor is unhappy about not being able to provide good quality health care he /she is forced to work at corporate hospitals which along with the insurance companies are profit oriented. A doctor with a private clinic can only limit her /his fees so much when there are children /a whole family to support, the private clinic loan to pay and he/she started earning 10 years later than his/her peers. Sophia's point about the lack of value for one's health is very valid, even as a doctor it takes myself reminding that spending 1k to consult a better educated /more experienced doctor is a more worthy investment than the clothes I buy of the same cost and thus worth it. It's a forced expense rather than smth that brings joy and thus feels like a pinch but that's the exact problem with that perspective. That 1k is an investment, not an expense. A patient is not a consumer. The authoritative nature of the Indian society adds to the problem where doctors expect to be listened to blindly compounded by the fact that it is not possible to explain the decisions to the patient in 5 - 30 mins too well simply because the number of factors taken into consideration are that many and that complex. If they weren't the course wouldn't be that long with multiple super specialization courses. Trust from the patient and empathy from the doctor apart from the government's responsibility will reduce this dissent that patients feel.

Depends on what factors you are considering. It's cheaper than London, fewer opportunities but you'll have better odds because of that.

Hey Khushboo darne ki zaroorat nahin haï. . Aapke paas bas sari information honi chahiye. There’s nothing to be worried. Remember when you move to the UK you will earn in pounds. But it’s important to be aware and make smart decisions. For instance improving your skill set to make yourself a desirable candidate to hire. Or carefully choosing where to live.

This is rubbish..The UK has one of the best transport systems ever you do not need to buy a car.. Listen up people this is complete lies
@AbsolutelyAshika
@AbsolutelyAshika Год назад
Oh really? Without a car, my son has to either walk 1 hour to reach school or wait for a bus which at times decides to leave earlier with no next bus or take a cab because no school near our house had a vacancy. Did I mention he's 5yrs? Don't write off someone's experience just because it doesn't hold good for you. We're not all the same.
