For the person who asked about why the cat isn’t using the litter box. It might be because cats are pretty hygienic and typically need 2 litter boxes. Of course not all cats care but if your cat refuses to use it adding a second box and making sure that the boxes are clean could help.

Veterinary Nurse here: If your cat doesn't use the litter box, try one of the following: - Always have 1 litter box more than you have cats - The area where they eat/drink must be as far away as possible from the litter box or they might not use it - Have the litter box in a quiet place If all of the above are fine or your cat only recently started not using it, take them to a vet. If your cat is having a discomfort in any way, the first thing they do is stop using the litter box. :)

Just a small posture tip for those looking at posture correction. I'm a lifelong gamer and I have struggled with posture my whole life. I found for a long time that forcing myself to have correct posture was almost painful in how uncomfortable it was. I started rock climbing and part of my training became working on strengthening my back and shoulders. Particularly doing inclined pull-ups (since I wasn't strong enough when I started to do a pull-up) and hanging scapula pull-ups changed my posture in like two weeks-1 month. For my posture the fix was simply strengthening my back and shoulders slightly. After like a week or two I already didn't have and discomfort forcing myself to have correct posture. Now when I'm gaming I make sure I remind myself every now and then to sit up better, and my posture has drastically improved. Do a bit of strength training a couple times a week, even just 20 minutes twice a week will help!

One thing that seems really simple and will be awkward at first is writing some positive affirmations and sticking them next to or on my mirror. That way every time I look in the mirror, I read those positive affirmations while looking at myself in the mirror. Over time it has made a big difference and I don’t have as much negative self-talk. Also, anytime I catch myself thinking negative things about myself, I come up with three positive things that I like or love about myself. Changing the way I think about myself and perceive myself has made a big difference overtime. 💗 Also, putting a photo of myself as a child in a place that I look at often is helpful because it is really difficult to not be kind and loving to a child. So it reminds me to be kind and loving to my own inner child. Hopefully that makes sense. We are all lovable and deserving of love, but we have to start with learning to ourselves. I love you and you are beautiful inside and out. I hope that you can get to the point of loving and accepting yourself - flaws and all. Because that is what makes us human and unique individuals. 💞

I used to keep my wallet in my back pocket, and I was experiencing odd back pain that I couldn’t figure out the cause of to save my life. I went to the doctor for a regular appointment and told them about my back. When they saw I kept my wallet in my back pocket, they told me that was more than likely my problem because I was constantly sitting on an uneven surface, which was shifting the way pressure was on my back. I started carrying my wallet in my front pocket, and within a week, my back pain was completely gone. Crazy how something that small made such a huge difference.

It's not as bad as like a movie or a TV show because the sound of people talking is usually in the same volume range for long periods of time, and listening to something I'm interested in actually keeps my mind from racing. I do need to keep the volume only slightly loud enough to hear because then I can drown out the noise as I'm falling asleep. Audiobooks work great for me too.

The clothes - physical/mental health question is really interesting. I remember reading a study that people who were allowed to wear their own clothes while in hospital instead of hospital gowns (when a hospital gown wasn't important medically, of course) were discharged sooner, reported less stress during their stay, and were less likely to return to hospital soon after being discharged.

Yep, called PJ paralysis. Patients are less likely to mobilise in hospital gowns and who can blame them with most having your rear on display. Rehab wards in particular push for patients to bring in their own clothes but with prolonged stays, washing needs to be considered. Sadly expensive to have washing sent out to be done, especially for elderly patients there after say a hip fracture who will often be on ward until house modifications can be done and without family nearby who can do the washing and bring it back for them.

For the nipple chafing, clothing made with material that minimizes friction and “wicks” sweat away will help, so women don’t usually have an issue because they’re already wearing sports bras, or bras in general so the nipples aren’t rubbing against the clothing much. A note for people having trouble getting their cats to use the litterbox: Cats have pretty sensitive paws. Try changing the litter to see if they'll be more willing, and make sure the box is easy for them to get into, though if your cat has been declawed, you might not be able to get them to use the litterbox because of pain. If that's the case, line the box with puppy pads.
@peacefulinvasion684
@peacefulinvasion684 Год назад
To answer the litterbox question, your first step is to find the right litter. You want a fine litter that is gentle on the paws, and is unscented (. You want the litter deep enough that the cat can burry its poop, and you want to go with unscented. Place your litterbox in an easy acess location that your cat can find. And a sprinkle of top soil can help encourage your cat to use it especially if ya just grabbed a stray cat off the streets.

He figured out that cotton or good quality technical fabric and soft microfiber aren't as irritating as the clothing one gets for free at sport events (e.g. races, marathons...). Since he stopped using the cheap t-shirts, he doesn't get sore nipples anymore.

Thanks for another great video! Tip for the cat problem = Put strips of paper in the litter box along with the litter (at first put a lot to mask the litter more) and gradually decrease as the cat becomes more accustomed to using the box. Some cats that start out more feral get used to toileting in soft grass or dirt and the paper strips soften up the feel on their paws and help them get used to the change. Hope that helps! 😸

Always have a vet check to rule out a medical issue. Then if cleared use Cat Attract in the litter, make certain to keep box clean, have an extra box somewhere that is kind of private, make certain to use a clumping & low/no dust litter like Dr Elsie's because if kitty is sensitive the dust may bother him/her.

The procedure was pretty intimidating by itself even though I knew the saw won’t cut me cuz it vibrates, also they didn’t allow my parents to be in the room. When the person was cutting the cast I distinctly remember telling the doctor that it felt like it was burning and it was painful, but he said that the saw couldn’t cut the skin. After the removal I was very upset and I thought that the people were not even apologetic, they were even telling me the cuts were from before. FYI I’m 15 was I entitled to make a ruckus about a small but long cut. This has been on my mind for like 2 months now

I wore a half-size too big for years, which led to calluses on the backs of my heels and also caused a lot of tripping because my feet were coming out of my shoes when I walked. There is very little discussion about wearing shoes that are too big compared to wearing those that are too small.

I (female, 21) have a question about low blood pressure. A couple years ago when I had my wisdom teeth removed, the nurse took my blood pressure and then just asked if I get dizzy really easily, head rush from standing up even if it isn't fast, winded going up and down stairs, and/or crave salt. All of which were at that time very true, and still are. I just kind of stared blankly at her and thought "wow you can tell that much about me just from taking my blood pressure?!" and then she told asked if I knew why that was, I did not, and she proceeds to tell me that I had dangerously low blood pressure and that's why I had all these symptoms that I just thought were normal! I asked what I could do about it and all she said to stay hydrated. But as it has been five plus years since then, and even though i track my water intake, I still struggle with low blood pressure, and have even passed out a few times because of it. No doctor has ever addressed it when I ask, usually brushing me off as a white female with an iron deficiency, and tell me to take an iron supplement. I take iron supplements every single day. Please! What is there that can be done about low blood pressure?

@Maggie.The.Unicorn
@Maggie.The.Unicorn Год назад
My only suggestion to get a doctor to start believing you is to regularly track your blood pressure and make a log - via cuffs at a pharmacy, an at-home device, at your doctors, etc. If you have a record of consistently low blood pressure it will give them more to work with too. I kind of doubt you've been chronically dehydrated all these years, but hydration is about water and electrolytes, so maybe? Or maybe you have a heart condition. Either way, you've been dealing with long-term symptoms that are affecting your quality of life, things can be tested for, and I am so sorry doctors aren't listening. I know what that's like. All I can say from personal experience is be the squeaky wheel and have lots of evidence, it is harder for them to ignore a paper trail.

For the gloves while lifting: As a personal trainer I recommend them for most people since it can help prevent a injury from dropping a weight due to sweat on your palms, etc. It's just safer. I know a lot of guys don't like the idea of them because they think it makes them look tougher not wearing them but they really are a safety measure, and the same goes for safety rails on your power rack - why not prevent dropping a bar on your chest?
@gracekenyon5316
@gracekenyon5316 Год назад
Also as a personal trainer, I would recommend chalk or lifting straps over gloves, as gloves are going to minimise the grip sensation you can get on the actual weights you're lifting. This decreases your mind muscle connection & can take away from the effectiveness of the exercise and the activation through stabiliser muscles. It can also weaken your grip strength over time as you end up relying on the gloves and not needing to actually create your own grip strength.

Vet Tech here for the user who asked about the cat! A couple things could be going on as to why your cat may not be using the litter box. This can be anything from stress, the type of litter, the location, type of litter box, medical problems, etc. Stress- some cats when they get stressed can stop using the litter box and go other places. This can happen because another cat is guarding the litter box, something seems different about it (even if you think there’s nothing different), or other changes to the environment. Feliway is an over the counter plug in spray that doesn’t smell to us humans that you can try to minimize stress. Location- if your cat is peeing in a certain spot try moving the litterbox there. Cats are not like dogs. We have to bend to them unfortunately and if that’s where the cat wants to pee then that’s where it will. There are some deterrents that are sold in stores that might help with this but if you can just move the litterbox there then it’s an easy fix. There are some expensive litter box hides out there you can get to make it fit into the room. Litter box- some cats like lids on the litter boxes some don’t, some like bigger ones, some like smaller, some like clay litter some like paper, some like going through the door others won’t. Everything about the litter box can change the way your cat reacts to it. Trail and error is unfortunately the only way to try to solve this. Also cleaning out the litterbox 1, 2, possibly 3 times a day may be what your cat requires. Every cat is different and require different cleaning. Also for every cat you have have one more litter box (so 1 cat has 2 litterboxes, 2 cats have 3, etc) Medical- if your cat is male and not fixed then your in for a world of spraying and territorial marking (females do this too but I’ve found that humans find males more annoying since they smell worse and they vertical pee). Getting your pet fixed will help with this and prevent other unwanted behaviors, cancers and newborn kittens. Urinary Tract Infections are VERY common in cats and can cause cats to pee everywhere. They can be caused by stress, being overweight and just bad luck. Seeing a vet to get antibiotics and possibly send out a urine culture would be the best steps. If all else fails see your vet anyways! They are happy to help even if it’s just to talk about different options for your pet. We have lots of tricks up our sleeve and only your vet will be able to tell you exactly what’s going on. We rule out all medical possibilities before landing on behavior. Behavior is harder to fix, but with time and patience it can be done. 👍

Regarding the shoes for lifting... when you are deadlifting and squatting you should wear flat solesd shoes like Chucks or Old Skool Vans. If you have ankle mobility issues you can wear the wedge heeled shoes "squat shoes" A lot of people prefer zero drop shoes for deadlifts. You just shouldn't wear the squishy athletic shoes for either lift because it is uneven and you will find yourself more on your toes when you want to be on your heels You can also roll your ankles because the shoes are too squishy.

The best gift for a medical professional costs nothing. Say thank you. You can also write a short note or chat with a supervisor or administrator expressing gratitude. That is very effective and meaningful as they usually only get blasted with complaints. And if, during the course of your treatment, your anger or frustration makes you lash out, apologize. With my condition I had a few times where I got mad, but always apologized afterwards. (Even when the problem was a serious health or safety issue.)

For Mike: cats don't need to be taught to go to the litter box, it's in their nature to want to bury it. My cat had no parents to learn from at 4 weeks old, just me, and I she knew right away what to do.

6:20 TL;DR I learned to walk weird as a baby, it has plagued me forever, but it’s getting better! Not heals, but kinda similar. I learned to walk weird as a baby. I walked around standing on tip-toe. It became a habit that I couldn’t break. My doc ended up putting me in these leg braces when I was in elementary school that forced my feet to stay down. I only had to wear them when I slept. The problem was, my tendons in my legs had basically shriveled up, and forcing them to stretch out like that hurt horrifically. I was already a difficult child, but at night I would scream and cry from the pain, and rip off the braces and throw them. I would fight my parents when they tried to put them on me at night. It was a nightmare and simply wasn’t working because I was fighting it. The doctor said to start having me do stretches that stretched my tendons in my legs gently, specifically my Achilles. So I started doing them, along with telling everyone I knew to correct me if I started walking on my toes. Anyone who saw me walking on tip-toe would say “Heels down!” To remind me. Unfortunately, the habit followed me all the way to my teen age. One of my friends once told me they hated telling me to ‘heels down’ because it felt like commanding a dog🤣 I’m 19 now and the habit is wayyy better than before, but still not gone. And my tendons still aren’t great. For example, when I go up stairs, I physically can’t walk with my heels down. But I have noticed that wearing shoes helps me to not walk on tip-toe. It didn’t when I was little, but it does now. So I wear my shoes, even in the house, pretty often. I would have had to have surgery on my tendons if I didn’t mostly break the habit. I’m glad that never happened!🤣

I’d love to see a video on clothes and health. I wear leggings every day and I’m worried because I’ve heard leggings can be bad for you and cut off blood supply. They’re not SUPER tight but I’m worried about long-term effects.

So, I have acanthosis nigricans, but rather than being caused by diabetes, I had a skin biopsy done, and was told I had a rare skin condition called CARP, which has no known cause nor cure. It’s caused a huge self-image issue, and I’m constantly being told by my mother to take cotton pads soaked in alcohol to scrub it off. But all that does is worsen the insecurity of it, because I can scrub at it for an hour, with my skin red and raw, but it’ll still be there, and I’m constantly told by her that it looks like dirt, which also doesn’t help.

Would love a more in-depth video regarding compression clothing - when they ARE recommended vs not. As a shift worker, I often wore compression socks. After developing spider veins, I consulted with a doctor who said I would need to wear full compression pants for prevention, not just knee-high socks. Is there any basis for this?
