Let's be real for a moment. Robtop is never adding Meltdown, World or SubZero to the main version because they make a lot of money being separate games exclusively for mobile. He's even said that himself on several occasions. I'd love for them to be in the main version, but it's just not happening.
About making levels from the spin-offs available, Robtop has said before he won’t due that as they are a big part of the revenue of the game. So instead of doing that I believe simply adding the missing icons to the base game and updating the spin-offs would be a better idea.
See, I don't understand that, because if you've played the free games and then downloaded the full version, you're not gonna be playing the free games anymore. There's no reason to just throw them into the paid game, since... you've already paid for it. Also I like Colon's idea where the levels are hidden so you actually have to play the base game a lot before you can unlock them
I think autosave in the gd editor should be an option but not required, since i dont want autosave. As dumb as that sounds, i dont want to accidentally copy and paste an entire level and then accidentally press deselect (yes ive done this before it sucks). Since i dont have autosave, i can just press exit instead of save and exit so the level doesnt save everything
they should add a feature to where an unverified level can go onto an "Unverified" tab where other people can play your levels to verify them. Edit: Guys please stop commenting "GENIUS!!!" im dieing from it
in-game NONG audio support is definitely not something RobTop can do. if it were supported it would mean that RobTop trusted EVERYONE to NEVER upload a SINGLE LEVEL with a copyrighted song without the consent of the music label owning the rights to the song or if the musician(s) who created the song if they don't have a music label (yes, copyright is controlled by the music label and not the artist). NOT ONCE EVER. because if the music label or artist finds out and doesn't like it, THEY CAN GET THE GAME DELETED PERMANENTLY. remember, unlike the Roblox corporation, RobTop doesn't make billions of dollars and cannot survive a large copyright lawsuit.
4:27 no because copyrights, duh People who put their song on NewGrounds agreed to it and left the "Allow for use in GD" checkbox checked, so this isn't a problem for NewGrounds song but it certainly will be if anyone can use their song in GD
Even in Newgrounds they could upload copyrighted songs, it isn’t that easy, you have to get scouted and contact an elder mod to get your music whitelisted
1. RobTop won't add levels from free GD spin-offs because money 2. Region Locks suck only if you can't turn it off 3. Custom Songs are likely not gonna be added because someone could just steal someone's song without crediting them/asking for permission
A new game mode idea I have for 2.3 is the mole basically when you click you teleport under the platform you’re on and then if you click again then you teleport back on the platform orbs and jump pads work the same on the mole
maybe it could jump after exiting the ground, with the jump height affected by how long you hold (e.g. quick tap = teleport, followed by small hop, while holding for a bit longer allows you to reach full jump height) an 'm' block could also be used to prevent digging into the blocks it's on, instead just performing the robot-like jump
I see 2.3 as being a quality of life update. There’s not much you could add to 2.2, other than making the player account more personalized and better comment sections How to improve comment section: -Being able to sort with more options (oldest to newest, or least liked to most liked) -Being able to edit comments -Being able to go to pages of comment sections easily -Being able to make longer comments (will require player to click “more”) How to improve player account: -Allow players to see how many demons of each difficulty they have beaten by clicking the demon icon -Allow the players to see how many levels of each difficulty they have beaten by clicking the star icon -Allow the owner of the account to pin a post to the top -Allow the player to be able to sort the posts (oldest to newest) -Allow the owner to edit posts -Allow the owner to link to levels in post (useful for mentioning that your new level is out, or just recommending a level to others) -Show how old the account is -Be able to share replays of levels you beaten or died to to friends. -Be able to post replays to your account page of said levels.
@@-ImUniverse- dude gd lite has 100 million downloads he literally can live off of the ads from that for like yearsss so there's no reason not to merge the spinoffs into normal gd
they should add custom orbs and pads you could set the amount of force it has and the color changes depending on its force (pink and purple for light, yellow and orange for normal, red and brown for strong, and black is max)
MESSAGE FROM THE FUTURE!!!: 2.2 is out and it hits different man…🤣. RobTop won’t add the spin-off games to the main game because then RobTop dosent get the sweet sweet add revenue.
While I can't speak for RobTop and GD (obviously), from what I've heard, due to following a lot of game developers... My understanding is that custom keybinds are a *PAIN* to implement. So honestly I don't blame Rob for not putting them in yet (nor do I blame any other indie dev who hasn't put them into their game).
I also got some ideas. Better use to songs. U can mix songs with a song trigger. And the delay offset can also have - meaning it will start at 20 seconds in or something. Just like the normal offset but with - and + ez. Also it would be cool to add more BG and Floors. And a guide for how to use triggers correctly, trigger combos etc
@@sliwka7889just add the levels but keep the apps so if you don't have the main game you can still play the spin off games is a win win because robtop still gets money
0:35 Most likely because RobTop makes a lot of money from the spinoff games (World, Meltdown, Lite and Subzero), because they have ads in them, and the developer might want to keep it that way. He himself said that the free spinoffs (the ones with ads) make more money than the paid game. I'm not saying that RobTop is money hungry, it's just facts that I mentioned, that the free games make more money for the developer.
From a legal perspective, custom songs are never coming out do to possibly allowing inappropriate audio, or copyright issues with the creators. I think (since AI music is now possible) a song should be generated to sync with the layout, but you can still use a song of your choice (e.g: if I use the song Fortnite Battlepass, it'll create another song that sounds similar but isn't the same).
There should be an orb that just resets your gravity. Doesn't launch you up or drop you down, just lets you in a neutral position, much like falling off a block. Edit: I tested it in the editor, and yeah it's not a good idea.
2.3 idea: Event Trigger I'm pretty stupid with level creating and triggers, so I don't know if there's stuff similar to this. All I know is that there is On Touch and On Death. Event Trigger is basically a Spawn trigger but it has a corresponding event to it. It would have multiple events to choose, like P1 jumped, P2 jumped, landed, used an orb or pad, stuff like that. Though I'm not sure how useful would that be. Maybe for minigames and boss fights?
Can they add a new block that looks like the player's icon? Levels use the default icon for making animations... Atleast a block for each gamemode like cube, ship, ball, and more... Although it's a small change to the community but a nice touch to top of the level's animations...
maybe this isn't relevant, but in the 2.2 update of geometry dash i browsed the Resources folder and i found a mp3 file called "PowerTrip" which yeah its the last level from subzero.
Brown orb: When clicked you jump and it drops a jump pad under it. The more I think about this the less of a meme this is; like this could actually complement really well this the reverse direction mechanic in 2.2.
i think for that brown/white orb idea if it becomes official it wouldnt shut down the game i think the white orb would send the player very high because white is the opposite of black and thats the opposite efect of a black orb and the brown orb would act like a black orb but it gives oposite gravity almost like a stronger green orb
I agree with the white orb, it should probably launch you up in the air like you would have reversed gravity, but not actually change your gravity, and stop the launching once you land somewhere or use an orb or pad.
5:19 You can still access the Everyplay recording if you turn on airplane mode, and you can even save it I believe. If I'm wrong, then you can just screen record the everyplay replay
My idea is: Make it so each icon (only for different gamemodes, not all the icons) have a different color. Examples: The robot will have a different color than the cube, the ship will have a different color than the robot and cube, and so on.
idea: gamemode tags you can put a tag on your level of what game mode it is (mostly) so like if you have a level with alot of ship but some cube you could say its a ship level this would be nice if you wanted to practice ship or something without just doing dumb strait fly chalenges
