In this episode we find out what the best pool player on the planet is using ! From playing cue to break cue to jump cue ! Also find out about his pre game routine !
*How humble a dude and cool. Gave Karl a gift. Guaranteed no other player will do that, especially a winning glove.* *Heart warming to carry a picture of his dad, outside the case so he can always see him, and carry gifts from his mom!* _just became a FSR Fan_ _great job Karl!_
It's impossible not to love and appreciate FSR. His personality and passion for the game, and what he has done over this past 16 or whatever months is nothing short of amazing. Cool dude and class act...
Really, really hard not to like this guy. A phenomenal talent and great ambassador for the game. And the way he shows such love and respect for his parents, confirms what a class act he is. Thanks for sharing this video, Karl!
Zan Hybrid max tip is a medium/hard tip. Just for anyone who is considering getting one. The top layer is medium and the core and bottom of the tips is hard. It does get harder the more you use it as the tip wears down. I would recommend going with the regular Zan tip in a medium softness for most players.
fyi that is not the way ZAN describes their own Hybird tip. The center of the tip is softer than the outer of the tip. Your description, if the hardness of the tip is always changing as you use it, you will always have inconsistency in shots. Many Pros on this Whats in Bag Series use the ZAN Hybrid. From ZAN Hybrid: gives the player the power of a Hard, grip of a Medium, and control of a Soft all in one. Duro Numerical Value: 90.8 Mixed Hog and Pig Leather
The weight of the cue forces him to play more loose with the back hand. Because of that carbon produces more energy in almost all shots. In my opinion, he understands carbon more than any player at the moment.
I met him in Buchurest Romania last year, we had a good time, such a pure spirit and such a big love, amazing guy. Not surprised with that attitude that he is in highest class. 😀 Rly good energy!
Good video BoxOffice!! ❤ The series! Keep em coming buddy. FSR is such nice, fun & seemingly genuine dude. The guy is always smiling. One hell of a player too!!! An excellent ambassador for the game.
If pool ever make it to the Olympics while he's still hot, can you just see the feel good story? His dad pic on the case, mom's good luck charms & the lucky towel. That's good TV moment
You should frame the glove and put the pics of the tournaments he won surrounding that glove. The fact he is willing to just give you his winning glove cause you asked what else is in the case. Man this dude is something else. That picture of him and his father and the trinkets his mother gave him shows how important is is to have a GOOD SUPPORT SYSTEM Love this kids attitude on life and Pool. Way to go FSR!!!
It is very important to support and encourage your childrens dreams. But also encourage everyone, adults the same, who want to venture out to try something. Unfortunately never happened for me, so believe me its important.
without great support and encouragement we would not have all the junior pool players playing as professionals today, so quickly. Kudos to the sponsorships for these kids as well
Looks like the newer BK Rush tempest. The grey is sweet. I got it without the wrap and love it. I also got the 19oz and took 0.5 out. I tried it heavier and lighter and it just feels so smooth at 18.5. However i didn’t like the Predator tip and it even sheared off about a month after purchase. Got a Samsara hard tip and it hits like a beast.
He seems such a cool guy! There are some players that seem a bit arrogant or something. It may be game face or what ever but still. And then there are guys like Oi and FSR. A perfect ambassador for the sport.
Great video and awesome player. My cue is the P3 + 11.8 REVO, and I play with the 12-inch extension on. I also have max weight, so 22oz. I use the same break cue at stock setup.
What a cool guy! And thanks for asking about tip hardness. 22oz playing cue?!?! What a baller. Can't wait to see more. Thanks again, Carl for the content and laughs!
Is that more than usual? I just started playing, and I use a 21 oz house stick as a 5'1 119lbs woman. It's felt good so far, but would you recommend going down to a 19 oz?
@@PostUp_Time I've used Elk Master, Thoroughbred, Peri Hawkeye II and will slap on a Tiger Emerald on my new shaft. They all play well... but. I do assume. Technology also goes into it and quality costs. A Toyota and Ferrari got two different prices and they both get your from point A to B. But. There's still a difference.
@@Passarinho86 c'mon toyota and a ferrari? we are talking miniscule pieces of leather. a $3 tip used by the greatest players in the game with excellent results since you brought it up, just sayin, a toyoata for an everyday car, winter, snow, rain,, etc. will outlast a ferrari.
I have replaced all of my shifts with this tip about a year ago. I can't say enough good things about them. They just last for a really long time and don't require hardly any maintenance. That is all I require out of a tip.
Karl you seem intrigued that he preps his cue tip everyday. I do as well, and think everyone should for a consistent shot. I burnish with Kamui leather and shape with a Willard's daily, using a medium tip. I did more on a soft elkmaster tip as they don't hold shape as good
Hey Karl, how do these guys that travel a lot transport their cues? Carry on, check in baggage? or Shipping? Do they have a special cue case cover to protect them? thx.
I could be wrong but it looks like his leather wrap is elephant ear cause of how smooth looking it is. Surprised to see he is just playing an IKON and not the Panthera or Jacoby ltd edition. As always, thanks Karl for the video.
I think you’re right with Elephant ear leather, unless it is Spanish Bull pattern - hard to tell with how smoothed out it is. EE has small textured dots in it, gives it a very soft feel.
For those who can't understand, I believe he is saying the tip is a "Zan hybrid max." I recently switched too it and it's an amazing tip. It's soft on outside for when you need English and hard in the middle when you don't. Never thought I'd switch from kamui and tiger but I'm sold with Zan. I'm far from being sponsored by anyone. Just my honest opinion.
FSR can definitely afford 2-3 Revo shafts while waiting a week or more by sending his main one back to an "authorized" predator company to be re-tipped. I'm sure predator takes care of him, so he probably get it faster. Only reason I won't ever use predator, I play too much pool for all the downtown needed for a retip
I'm sure predator gives him probably $5K per year worth of free equipment because it only cost them $1K in materials. In addition, they probably pay him $25K sponsorship yearly money to use their cues. Just a wild guess, but Efren Reyes commented on the many cue companies that were contacting him to use their cues.
I was really hoping you would ask about the rumor that he's being asked to play the revo vs his favorite wood shaft everyone talks about. Seems comfortable with the revo but would have loved to here his take or see the reaction. Cool guy for sure.
that was filler. yes, kind of weird that filler would win a few tourneys with revo, change to z3 wood shaft and win just about everything with the z3, and then abandon it for the same spec revo he had before. but idk.
I’ve asked Predator about getting one of their cues changed from Uniloc to Radial and they said they don’t do that. Well, his Icon comes in Uniloc sooooo.
@@Poolside_Chat you have to get in touch with a reputable cue maker/repairer. Mine is Uniloc which I have no problems with, people are just dense and don’t know to give it a nice solid twist when you put it together. Predator will not change any of the pins on their cues. It has to be done by a 3rd party.
@@tylerstats1109 absolutely. But for him, I guarantee Predator did it themselves. Either way, I love my 9K-3 and Uniloc isn’t an issue. When I go custom, radial all the way.
