Today we take a look at Dr. Strange from the Marvel Cinematic Universe!~ We take a look at the Doctor Strange Movie, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

One correction, Strange wasn’t excited about “learning magic” from his lead it America. He assumed it was advanced, unregulated, medical technology that was being cloaked in eastern mysticism. That’s why he was asking the Ancient One probing questions about cellular regeneration technology. He was then disappointed when he realized there was no science, and seemed to be a scam. It was perfectly in character, not just “movies being movies.”

Actually, do main timeline Loki *before* the Loki show comes out, since that show isn’t focused on the Loki that went through the MCU, but the alternate timeline version that got the tesseract in Endgame.

This movie really handeled the concepts of disabilities well. Stephens arc (Along with not being a arrogant jerk) is to learn that even with his hand injury, he still has a crazy amount of things that he can accomplish. A lot of other movies have them be secretly awesome because they’re disabled somehow. So yeah. That’s about all I gotta say. *This is an unothredox reasoning behind the video. Some might even say.... strange.*

Dr Strange spent decades in that time loop, practicing magic and getting mordered over and over. Its the quintessential lawful good move, a sacrifice for as many years as it takes to prevent Dormammu from invading earth, and eventually give it up.

To be fair it would probably be a better idea to wait for the loki series to come out, since with it dealing with time travel, og loki is probably either going to make an appearance, or influence the newer loki in some way - ie lokis story isn't finished yet in terms of alignment whereas strange with multiverse of madness is likely going to stay the same with perhaps minor shifts

@@The3dsstuff I wouldn't say so, since the Loki from the "Loki" series is the same Loki from right after "Avengers". A.K.A. right after Loki's lowest point (as in, when he was most evil and mentally unstable) and way before his sort-of redemption. Loki is a very interesting character, who was in constant fluc throughout the "Thor" series. Making an alignment video that's just about evil Loki would be ignoring all of the interesting devolvepment he's made/been through over the past few years.

Yeah there aren't any heroes In that show..just zealots. At best some of them have a sense of honor and respect there enemies, but literally no one has pure motives

The only one closest to a hero in that show is the Dragon Prince himself lead protagonist Daivon but that's only because his powers led him to realize not all dragons were the enemy and instead of cursing his powers he strives to use his powers as the Dragon Prince to protect the innocent from those who would threaten them including protecting innocent dragons from wicked religious zealots who paint them as monsters, along with him keeping his oath of aiding a certain female elf archer in her quest, and protecting a certain someone who is traveling with them. But based upon his actions I would say Daivon is Chaotic Good borderline Neutral Good as he is definitely not Lawful Good.

@@derrickhaggard yeah and Davion admitted when the Eldwyrms were questioning him that's he's motivated by his hatred for dragons as much as he is by a desire to protect people and only allied with them because he can feel demons are even worse. So yeah chaotic good/chaotic neutral, but at least partially driven by evil motivations

@@agentchaos9332 Correct despite having what could be argued as evil motivations Davion never really goes into one of the three branches of the evil alignment, as he had a genuine desire to help and protect innocents including later on innocent dragons from those who would hurt them whether it be protecting them from wicked dragons, demons, and corrupt religious zealots, along with the fact he's keeping true to his oath to protect and aid his two traveling companions in their personal quests along with his desire to be a hero paints him as chaotic good/neutral good borderline chaotic neutral but that's only due to his other actions including his earlier irrational hatred of dragons keeping him from Lawful Good. And even then he showed honor by admitting to the Eldwryms he only got that irrational hatred of all dragons via personally witnessing a evil dragon brutally destroying his village, and murder 99% everyone there including his adopted family when he was a little kid, and admitting when he first discovered his human/dragon hybrid nature he was contemplating suicide due to how he felt towards dragons at the time, but didn't when he realized he could use his new power to protect the innocent. I agree with that one Eldwrym that revealing all that to them couldn't have been easy, and that the path of a noble hero has never been the easy path, and that yeah Davion's earlier hatred towards all dragons was understandable he was a kid when he witnessed a dragon that was evil destroy his home, and in the process murder his friends and loved ones including the only family he knew, and witnessing a great crime like that at such a young age definitely left massive mental/emotional trauma that would last for years, along with letting him believe that all dragons acted like that, and discovering that he was a hybrid of human, and the creature he despised wasn't a easy thing to reconcile.

As a lover of some things magical and fantasy, Dr. Strange is easily one of my favorite MCHeroes, and was a nice weight off the shoulders of the series in being the de facto -Sorcerer- Wizard in a series of sci-fi movies.

I just rewatched the movie and the way Dr Strange defeats Dormammu is actually a great callback to The Ancient One’s speech to him about not being able to beat a river into submission that he derided as not making any sense.

Honestly, i'd say that not paying attention to the road is a hard Evil of some kind. you aren't just putting yourself in danger, but everyone else. driving is more dangerous than people realize!

I absolutely love how when we first meet Dr. Strange he is technically between Neutral and Chaotic Neutral - he does good, but only because he benefits from doing it, and this only gets worse when his arrogance starts to push him into the Chaotic Evil territory. It Is not but after training with the Ancient One that he starts to grow as a person and starts to move back to the Lawful Good territory, eventually becoming a self-sacrifice for the good of many others - twice. If this doesn't showcase how much impact one person can have in one's life, then I'm not sure what will. P.S: Just found your channel, fastest subscribe I've ever done. I would love to hear your take on MCU Thanos, if that ever pops-up as an idea!

Awesome job. Dr. Strange was one of the movies that I didn't care much for when I first saw it, but has gradually gotten better as time has gone on. As for the next hero, Black Panther, considering T'Challa started off consumed by vengeance in Civil War and grew into a mature and wise king by the end of his solo movie. Killmonger would also be really interesting, considering how he hungers for power for himself and no one else (burning the heart-shaped herb, killing any who challenge him) seem Neutral Evil, but his goals of causing a massive war no matter how many innocents die and not caring if Wakanda is destroyed in the process seem more Chaotic Evil. Whether you wanna do it as one video or separate is up to you of course. :)

It would have been interesting if Strange's scenes in 'WandaVision' hadn't been cut, he was supposed to play the town pharmacist, showing up suddenly to take another character's place and offering cryptic remarks that help Wanda realize what she's doing.

Doctor Strange isn’t actually a wizard OR a sorcerer. Marvel magic actually works by invoking higher powers or channeling the power of mystical artifacts, so the more proper label would be _Warlock._ And his primary Patrons would be the Vishanti, though as the sorcerer supreme he is also capable of channeling others (though often at a higher price, and stricter terms) such as Dormammu, Agamotto, Mephisto, Eternity, Cyttorak, Yggdrasil, or the Living Tribunal.

For another MCU alignment, it would be cool to see one on Ant-man, Bucky, Falcon, or Rocket. This one is going to be a stretch, but if you ever do another Final Fantasy alignment, my dream pick is Yuna from the Final Fantasy X series. To me, she is one of the best girls in video gaming history!

Forgive me if my memory has faded, but if you're looking for character suggestions, I don't think there's been an episode on Black Panther/T'Challa yet. Part of me knows it might be better to wait until Black Panther II releases in case it somehow adds backstory, but given Chadwick Boseman's passing last year, another part of me thinks that a Marvel Month is a good time for a tribute.

Dr. Strange needs more movies to really get a good grab of alignment. If anything the first movie was a story of an alignment change as he went from a person who had an incredible ego and was very selfish. He did good medical deeds but not because of good will. After a good butt kickin he begins to see the light and becomes less selfish. He will likely always have a bit of ego but it is more a personality quirk that he is self aware of as he actually does care now. He isn't chaotic but definitely will break the rules if it is for what he perceives as a better good so I'd put him in the realm of Neutral Good.

D&D Alignments for marvel characters is great (the characters yet to be in the MCU like the X-Men would be cool too) But I can't help but notice Saber in lawful good, maybe alignment videos for fate characters?

Honestly I wanna see Star Lord next. While he doesn't have a MASSIVE character arc (I'd argue he starts in CN and ends in CG), he has so many great character moments that people don't give enough credit.

Tony Stark is one i definitely want to see. Same goes for Cap, but does he even change throughout the movies? Probably shifts between the Good alignments, but I can't imagine much beyond that. But before them two, i'd like to see Black Panther!

You missed the Nat 20 scene "No one could have saved your hands." "I could have"... and then Strange's sudden silence. Strange could have saved his hands but he wouldn't have done it as it was too much a risk to his rep. You brought up "With Great Power, comes great responsibility" but that's Spider-man, not Strange. Spider-man is about "power given" but with Strange, it's "power taken". Strange earned that power... and knowledge come to think on it, the guy's a natural try hard... and his real job is knowing when and how to use it. This is why "It's not about you" hits Strange so hard. So the new saying is.. With great power, comes great risk.

i find it really interesting that he in the films is lawful good, when his comic counterpart is solidly rooted in chaotic good. also for the uses of the time stone in hong kong, wouldn't that more so be chaotic good given that its breaking rules for the benefit of others and the overall good, rather then lawful good which is following the rules for the intent of good? same could also be said about the dormammu interactions. other then those instances i agree with everything else, just feel he would be better rooted in the neutral good category in the mcu rather than lawful good.

funny thing, his hands do get better throughout the movie, hinting that, besides the car crash, of not for his ego, he wouldn't never have become supreme wizard strange if he just let his hands heal with time, he was fairly wealthy and could've lived of his savings if he cut after the injury

I think Spider-man is a great pick, since this version of Peter has actively considered and tried to give himself less responsibility. Peter giving Mysterio the glasses with faulty logic. In the character's eyes it makes sense because he's a kid, and he can't handle all this pressure. It'd be cool as shit to talk about

I rhink a lot of these lawful good moments are actually Lawful neutral. In Infinity War Strange makes clear that he won't hesitate to sacrifice Tony or any other avenger in order to save the entire universe. And he does, he knew that Tony had to die to get the best possible ending. So yeah, big lawful neutral right there.

Steven is the only Marvel character I read about and knew well BEFORE his movie came out and as the origin of the second strongest Magic user in the Marvel Universe(because Comic Book Wanda is broken as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck), I enjoyed seeing him act like just a man most of the time, though personal opinion believes they could have done more than just have him mess around with the Slingrings to say "He's getting more accustomed to the world of magic and sorcery."

I didn't read his books but I know my comic history and Dr. Strange was too OP in the older books, So they nerfed him.
