What Day 1 of Destiny 2 Looked Like 

Back in my day we had two primaries and 3 teammates, we didn’t have any fancy stasis abilities or armor mods.

People judge me a LOT when I say this but Ima say it again. The Red War campaign was AMAZING as a base campaign and overall destiny campaign. I'm don't mean the sandbox, the crucible at the time I mean purely the history and the events that happened, I still get goosebumps when remembering climbing the mountain while "Journeys" was playing on the background. Absolutely peak, to this day I love the final mission and final fight with Ghaul

I miss the actual progression in Destiny. Now it's like "wow I hit level 45 in the battlepass and got 3 enhancement cores"

Back in my day, green ammo brick were only for weapons in the energy slot while white ammo bricks were for weapons in the kinetic slot.

I miss the red war campaign

The special weapons in the heavy slot was wild.

Remember Legendary Red War campaign during Solstice (it wasn't actually the whole campaign, just a few missions, but still)? That was actually pretty cool and difficult at the time. I remember dying to Ghaul... and the sun. So much content was cut, not that I would've played it again, but still a shame no one can experience it again.

The music, the art direction, literally everything.

Always amazes me that Bungie marketed the original campaign as losing your light and then in the next mission you get it back, LOL

This was honestly very enjoyable, hopefully there's more.

Ngl when D2 came out it was so fun playing through the red war missions and just exploring the “massive maps” that we weren’t used to

I still talk about my experience of Year 1 of Destiny 2. My cousin, his fiance, and I all pre-ordered the game, downloaded and played it on the first day and we didn’t stop until like Season of the Undying. We used to just sit on Titan and run back and forth to do Public Events and just talk about life. Then Season of Arrivals came around and me, him, and his brother were the new fireteam. We played for a while, suffered through the start of Stasis, his brother left due to the frustration of it 😂 But now we’re back again, all three of us. And I met my clan, did my first raid. So many great memories on this game. Old and new. It’s kinda surreal, honestly, that I’ve been so pessimistic about the game since the launch of Season of the Deep, despite all these great memories and all the time spent on this game. Maybe I’ll actually get online for the first time in about a month. Solstice is coming up, after all, and the armors look pretty good…Thank you for this nostalgia trip.

I kinda miss the Red War. It was my intro to the Destiny universe and I have such good memories with my friends playing through the missions and slowly gaining access to all the worlds. Ahh good times :)

People always pretend D2 vanilla was so bad but people played the game the most in 2017. So there is that. Now people only return for expansions and leave after two weeks. We played vanilla for at least two years nonstop.

I came back after playing destiny 1 year 1, one month before beyond light, I play the campaign and for me was really good

Technically the only way you could replay the campaign missions was a playlist in the Strike playlist. Completions would grant a Vanguard Research token (remember those?!) that would be used for acquiring gear from IKORA! But outside of that, missions weren’t individually replayable/selectable until Witch Queen.

Good ol‘ times…I wish I didn't know Destiny today, and now I'm going back to Destiny 1 for the first time and reliving the magic....

Kinda miss year 1 it was so simple and fun even if most of my memories before Warmind are farming Titan pubs for faction tokens

Looking back at this video, it makes me actually want a Destiny 3, my issue with D2 nowadays is nothing overly feels new unless it's a main expansion. I miss the mystery of running through for a first time, and I don't wanna delete a character or anything with the current setup of D2 due to how dreadful the new player start is.

I remember I got the original Destiny 1 with the add ons....The Dark Below..and House of Wolves...some of the best quality gaming time ever spent...my opinion ... is when Destiny was at its best...oh yeah..can't forget..The Taken King as well...

I remember starting the game during season 9 and the nightfall boss had so much health that I ran out of primary ammo and started punching the boss. I never beat that nightfall.

I miss the subclass missions. I'm convinced we need them to return, alongside new subclass missions for Stasis and Strand.

After the Traveler did that light pulse didn't they show a cutscene of the first time we see the pyramids? I wonder if they threw that in there and had no clue what they were yet or if they had some plan to what was going to happen in future. It's hard to tell what was them teasing stuff and what is them just making it up as they go to look like it was planned all along. All of the Prophesy dungeon has tons of either orbs, or orbs cut in half with swirlies on the flat side, looking like idols of the Traveler and the Veil... No clue if that was planned or just made up along the way but still.

I see everybody talking about how great red war was, and there was a good number of things that were great, but can we all admit that ghaul carried the campaign? Like everybody has some good moments, but almost every time ghaul is on screen is the best moments of the campaign. I wish his boss fight was harder.

I’m ngl I miss the 50 FOV gameplay where you get a dopamine rush for getting a 5 shot HC kill in crucible. I never got heavy with SG game wasn’t working until warming dlc, I just miss going against noobs alongside me another noob. No no times, rose, or beloved, wave frame GL’s or broken sg/fusion. I miss simplicity

if i recall i dont think you could replay campaign missions back in vanilla d2. I think they stopped doing that after d1, but i could be wrong, its been awhile since i thought about it

It's so weird seing green engrams. Then again, today's loot is just legendaries and exotics... I wish there was a proper gear progression, sort of like in the Borderlands series.
