Even though the men walking on the road, they said, Our Lord Jesus Christ had risen on the Sunday, that proves the Wednesday theory just as well, to me. I can't count 3 hole days from Friday evening to Sunday. Wednesday makes the most sence to me. Thank you for this video! May our Lord Bless you for your work.
Jesus died on Friday as it is in Bible that says ( I will destroy the temple and in three days I will rebuild it.) But the sign of Jonah 3 days and 3 night means it counted from the time Jesus betrayed by Judas ( a human being made up of Clay "earth") that is in Thursday ( day 1 n night 1) then died on Friday (day2 n night 2) then sabbathon ( day3 n night3) then after night 3 came Sunday morning Jesus resurrection.
That isnt what they said. They said Sunday was THE THIRD DAY since it had happened. Not "there have been three between the death and now." Meaning the day in which they were speaking was counted as the exact third from the incident of death. Going back three days from Sunday, you dont get Wednesday. You get Friday.
The swoon hypothesis is any of a number of ideas that aim to explain the resurrection of Jesus, proposing that Jesus did not die on the cross, but merely fell unconscious ("swooned"), and was later revived in the tomb in the same physical body.
Excellent and most comprehensive analysis I’ve heard so far about which day Jesus was crucified on. Because the High Holy day of Passover changes from year to year, we can go back in time and find out what years Passover fell on either a Wednesday or Friday and how old Jesus would likely have been at those times and which of those two times got the best! Has anyone done that? (You need a computer program or something). Overall 👍
Remember you have to look at this back in time as Jewish holy days. They kept Sunset to sunset days. Jesus died before sunset on Wednesday remember they needed to get him off the cross before sunset which started a Thursday. Next day ,Thursday, was first day of unleavened bread (a high holy day) but next day count starts at sunset Wed. It is a Thursday and night 1 and day 1 Thursday. Thursday sunset starts ( Friday ) night 2 Friday daytime is day 2...sunset then starts Saturday and is night 3 Saturday day time is day 3. At Sunset Saturday it is Sunday not Saturday night. Three days and three nights. The first count is a night. Jesus died before Sunset on Wednesday. Jesus kept Passover with his deciples Tuesday evening to us, but that sunset remember started a new day Wednesday by Wed evening he was being taken off the cross because the High Sabbath was upon them. At sunset would have been Thursday to the Jewish people.
An interesting tradition that the Israelite farmer had during this time of year was their first sheaf (Omer) of barley that was harvested and taken to the priest. This was the premier or very first and best part of his barley crop. The Jews did this in the closing or twilight hours of the Sabbath-the day before the Feast of Firstfruits. This is mentioned in the Mishnah (Menahot 10:1). Also, the second-century Mishnah affirms that, when the Sadducees controlled the Temple, the sickle was put to the grain just as the sun was going down on the weekly Sabbath (Menahot 10:1-4, Jacob Neusner translation, pp. 753-754). The Bible nowhere indicates that the priests understood the ritual they were performing at the close of the Sabbath when Yeshua, the archetypical wave sheaf, was “harvested” from the physical world by being resurrected from the dead. On the following morning, as the firstborn of many brethren, He ascended to God’s throne to be accepted by the Father.
That week the 14th of Aviv fell on the 4th day of the week. He arose at the end of the Sabbath just before sunset. Sunset began the first day of the week. The women couldn't come to the tomb because they had to wait until the weekly Sabbath was over to not violate the Torah. When they got there, He had already arisen. Matthew 12:40, the sign of Jonah says 3 days and 3 nights He laid in the tomb. The 14th day was the preparation for the high Sabbath of Unleavened Bread on the 15th. This is when the Passover lamb was killed and prepared for the Passover Seder. So Messiah died on the 14th and was laid in the tomb just before sunset. Nights came first, then days. Counting from the 14th just before sunset, 3 nights and 3 days is the Sabbath at sunset. The first day didn't began until sunset. That's why He wasn't there when the women came on the first day.
The second anyone attempts to apply the crucifixion to a “Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, etc.”, they have already lost. Jesus did not die on a Graeco-Roman day of the week. He died on a Hebrew day of the week. That day was the 14th of the month of the aviv (matured//ripened) barley. The barley was the type for the firstfruits of mankind, Jesus. That God-appointed temple rite precipitated the first month of the calendar and the calendar for mankind. Thus, we have to find the month the barley is aviv (matured//ripened). We then are to count 10 days from the crescent-sliver moon (that starts that month), choose the lamb on that 10th day, examine it 4 days for blemishes, slaughter it on the 14th. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the 10th; was found innocent and true after 4 days of teaching & trail, crucified the same day of Preparation the lambs were slaughtered for Passover (the 14th of aviv). Jesus rose on the first day of the HEBREW week. That was three days and three nights later, on the 3rd day of Unleavened bread, just as he prophesied, just as recorded in the 4 gospels. The first day of the HEBREW week is the day after the Hebrew weekly seventh day, AKA: the weekly Sabbath. And according to how the Hebrew week lines up with the Graeco-Roman week, that would be a Sunday. Subtract three days and three nights from Sunday, and you end up with a Thursday. The reason the Historic Christian church chose Friday, is because they had to merge it with the gods of the world (that is why they called it back then the ROMAN universal church; AKA the ROMAN Catholic Church.) The mother-fertility goddess (Frya of northern Europe: AKA Isis, Istar, Astarta, Asharath, etc) was said to descend to the nether world to resurrect her husband (Saturn, Baal, Molech, Bal, Chemosh, Osiris, etc) on his day (Saturn = Saturday), and procreate with the Father fertility god, raising him as the solar-god on the Sun-god day; Sunday. Nine months later, the fruit of that demonic union is the sun-god. He is born on the first day of the solar-god calendar, December 25th, when the days begin to grow after the diminish of winter. The current standard practice of most Christian churches follows a pagan timeline. All thanks to Emperor Constantine who at the Nicaean Church Council, had all his Mithraic bishops pass the pagan timeline. Bye the bye . . . Constantine was a Mithraic high priest to his dying day, murdered a couple of his wives and firstborn son, nephew & brother, sought to butcher children so he could bath in their blood to restore his health, cast fertility spells, and kept his vestal virgins to keep him “entertained”, and constantly presented himself as the embodiment of the pagan sun-god, Mithras . . . . amongst many other perverted, corrupt, and evil things.
...okay....glad that you are one of the few who know that Christ was crucified on a Thursday (14th) and raised on the "first day of the week" (Sunday)...the 17th, giving us 3/3, just as he said . Have you checked out Genesis 8:4, to see that correlation to salvation? Another affirmation of the dates for these events of Christ. Now...that you know the correct "timing" of these events for Christ...have you seen how they relate to the prophecy in Daniel? I look forward to your response... Bless John
So, according to you, the earliest Christian views as recorded by Justin Martyr and dated to between AD 155-157 (and mentioned by the presenter of the above video) stating that Jesus died on the Friday is actually something influenced by the pagan timeline passed by the Nicaean Council in AD 325 (some 175 years later) and not a transposing of day names by Justin for the sake of communicating Christ's resurrection to the person he was writing to i.e. Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius. Amazing! God bless, V
You are correct. Wednesday. The sabbath was the High Holy Day of the first day of unleavened Bread. They bought spices on Friday the day between the two sabbath's. The High Sabbath on Thursday of that week and the weekly sabbath on Saturday.
Nicely done, Matthew. Yours may be the best discussions of this issue I've heard. I applaud your humble attitude and desire to uncover the truth. I notice you mentioned the Thursday theory but didn't discuss it. Here are a few things to consider... Exodus 12:1-20 sets aside: - The 10th day of Nissan as the day to select the Passover animal - The 14th day of Nissan as Passover, the day to sacrifice the animal - The 15th day of Nissan as the start of the week-long Feast of Unleavened Bread. The 15th and the 21st are High Sabbaths. I lean toward a Thursday Passover. I believe Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem best describes his selection as the Passover Lamb. This would make Sunday the 10th of Nissan, the day of selection and Thursday the 14th, Passover. The Feast of Unleavened Bread then begins with a High Sabbath on Friday the 15th. Passover would also be the day of preparation since no work can be done on the High Sabbath nor the weekly Sabbath. Sun the 10th: Palm Sunday when Jesus is selected as the Passover Lamb Tue the 12: Jesus anointed by Mary Thur the 14th: Passover when Jesus was sacrificed and buried. Also the day of preparation. Fri the 15th: The first day of the week-long Feast of Unleavened Bread, a high Sabbath Sat: The weekly Sabbath Sun: First Fruits when Jesus rises (the third day since Jesus was crucified). Also, the women prepare spices after sundown then visit the tomb prior to sunrise.
Tuesday Jesus Christ ate an evening Passover meal with His disciples (at the beginning of Nisan 14, Jewish reckoning) and instituted the New Covenant symbols (Matthew 26:26-28). Jesus was then betrayed by Judas, arrested and during the night brought before the high priest. Wednesday Jesus was crucified and died around 3 p.m. (Matthew 27:46-50). This was the preparation day for the annual-not weekly-Sabbath, which began at sunset (Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:31). Jesus' body was placed in the tomb just before sunset (Matthew 27:57-60). Thursday This was the high-day Sabbath, the first day of the biblical Feast of Unleavened Bread (John 19:31; Leviticus 23:4-7). It is described as the day after the "Day of Preparation" (Matthew 27:62). Wednesday night and the daylight portion of Thursday were the first of three days and nights Jesus' body was in the tomb. Friday The high-day annual Sabbath now past, the women bought and prepared spices for anointing Jesus' body before resting on the weekly Sabbath day, which began at Friday sunset (Mark 16:1; Luke 23:56). Thursday night and the daylight portion of Friday marked the second of three days and nights Jesus' body was entombed. Saturday The women rested on the weekly Sabbath day, according to the Fourth Commandment (Luke 23:56; Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus rose near sunset, exactly three days and three nights after His body was placed in the tomb, fulfilling the sign of Jonah and authenticating the sign He gave of His messiahship. Sunday The women brought the prepared spices early in the morning while it was still dark (Luke 24:1; John 20:1). Jesus had already risen (Matthew 28:1-6; Mark 16:2-6; Luke 24:2-3; John 20:1). He did not rise on Sunday morning, but near sunset the day before- three days and three nights after being put in the tomb, just as He foretold. If you read all of the scriptures given for each day, you will see that this lines up perfectly with what Jesus told his disciples.
Risen on the third day; however, it was three nights and three days, and not three days and three nights. That is how it would have originally been read. Sunday dawn would be the third day, but counting backwards would put time of death should be Thursday just prior to sunset. This would also solve the question as to why the women waited until Sunday morning to tend to the body. With barely enough time to get the body in the tomb before a special Sabbath (which occurred during many weeks of the year) on Thursday, then the regular weekly Sabbath from Friday evening through Saturday, Sunday morning, at first light, would be the earliest time that the body could be properly prepared for burial, which is why the women were coming to the tomb. Not that it matters a whole lot, except in keeping with the narrative that Jesus was the Passover Lamb for evermore. The important thing is that Christ rose again. And that he is our redeemer. On that we can and should ALL agree. Thanks for the video.
Hey @john-jz3ku , at our church, we "keep" the festivals in the Bible. I put that in parenthesis because it is not possible to keep the festivals found in the Bible per the instructions due to a variety of factors. Still, we memorialize them the best we can to teach our children the importance of the Word. We believe that ultimately, they all point to Yeshua and that is the principle we orbit when celebrating them.
...Rinske...IF...you hold to a Sunday Triumphal Entry of Christ...PALM SUNDAY...you know that this had to be the 10th day of the month (Ex. 12:3). You also know that the lamb had to be offered up, in the evening, on the 14th day of the month (Ex. 12:6), yes? Well, if you hold to a Sunday entry, which was the 10th...THEN...the 14th falls on a.....THURSDAY! Go check your calendar, and find a month where the 10th day falls on a Sunday...then look where the 14th falls...IT ALWAYS FALLS ON A THURSDAY.... BLESS JOHN
I agree! The most important thing is that he died and rose again, and what that accomplished and brought! It's important to be united in the big things and not divided over the little things.
Yeah but why regurgitate lies? Forget what Matthew and Mark. What did he YESHUA SAY? True he died and rose but once I see one lie that’s blatantly told I question EVERYTHING else. We’ve been taught PLENTY OF LIES! “For my people perish for lack of knowledge.
I think the reason our high school and college kids leave the faith is because of the inconsistency’s taught. Truth is important. Jesus is the truth. Anyone ever watch the truth project by focus on the family? Its worth the watch .
One has to remember that Jewish tradition of recording time is different than modern day time recording. But it is important that we have a date of Jesus birth, death, and resurrection. Many religions in the world especially those based off of mythology don’t have persist dates and times and actual names of eye witnesses. Great job Praise God!
G.Grennell If Friday is too short a time, then Wednesday is too long, because Jesus died during a day at 3PM. If that was Wednesday then that takes too many days to Sunday. Thursday would work, strictly speaking as far as days and nights go, but in the years 30 and 33 AD, the most probable years for this event, the Passover was on Friday. He must be killed on Passover, the 14th of Nissan, and the "high holy day" was the Sabbath and the first day of the feast of unleavened bread together. I believe the days and nights thing is a way of expressing parts of three 24 hour days, not all of the hours of each day.
I believe the Wednesday crucifixion for in Daniel we are told He would be taken out in the middle of the week...the middle of our week is Wednesday...He told them...the disciples He will be dead three days and 3 nights as Jonah was in the belly of the whale...they burried Him in haste...for even the pharisees didn't want to be in pliates's house cause the holiday of Passover was to begin followed by the feast of Unlevenbread they couldn't be defiled...Jesus died on the day then that night became Passover for holidays started on the beginning of the sunset, He died exactly when the lambs were sacrificed for the Passover meal, plus the sacrifice had to be perfect that even not one of the bones couldn't be broken...Yeshua legs weren't broken for He died...but the 2 others on their crosses leg bones were broken to speed death...so Wednesday night was Passover...and followed by the High Sabbath of the feast of Unlevenbread started Thursday night...the High Sabbath and ended Thursday night at sunset our time...so from Thursday night...till Friday before sunset the women could have bought spices, but remember the woman had to cook and prepare before the Sabbath began...and Friday at sunset, started the regular Sabbath...again...Saturday our time at sunset was another opportunity they could have bought spices...so early that next day they arrived at the tomb which would have been Sunday...after the third day...also understand Passover was in the 1st month of Aviv, on the new moon...which on that day they counted days...and Passover could fall on anyday of the week because of that...and the 15th day of that month...the feast of Unlevenbread usually is the full moon day...but thank you again for your presentation
...Tony...while the prophecy speaks of "midst of the week"...can you tell me where it says: "...the "midst" of one of our weeks, 2020, as we know it...?" I'm fairly certain, that you won't find that anywhere in scripture. The middle/midst of our week...WAS NOT...the middle/midst of their week...Daniel's week. I don't know if you have read where the entrance of Christ, that Sunday on the 10th, with his Triumphal Entry...that day, that very day...was the completion of the 62 "weeks" of Daniel. Those 62 weeks, followed the first 7 weeks, which made that day of his entrance, the completion of 69 weeks of Daniel. Have you had the chance to read that at some time? It is fairly well published, and you should be able to find it rather easily. In fact, you might even ask this site if that isn't correct about the day of his entrance. So...now that we have established that the Sunday of his Triumphal Entry, the completion of that day...was the completion of the 69th "week"....TELL ME...what do you think the last day of that week was? It was Sunday. The completion of the 69th week. So, when would be the first day of the next week? That would be Monday. Watch, while I present to you just how the bible, and the Jews, realized the "days". Knowing that the "evening" of that Sunday ( Mk. 11:11) for his Triumphal Entry, was the completion of that day, and that week...this is how the following week would transpire... Sunday evening to Monday evening..................day 1... Monday evening to Tuesday evening................day 2... Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening..........day 3 Wednesday evening to Thursday evening........day 4... Thursday evening to Friday evening.................day 5... Friday evening to Saturday evening..................day 6... Saturday evening to Sunday evening................day 7... Can you see where the "middle" or "midst" of that week falls? It begins with Wednesday evening and ends with Thursday evening. Do you see that day #4 is the middle of the week? If you read the account that is given in Mark, beginning with 11:11...you will find that the passing of the next week is laid out exactly like what I have written above. This is the truth...if you want to reason together...I will show you the prophecy of Daniel...as it relates to the completed work of Jesus Christ. Bless John
The men walking on the road after the resurrection say its the 3rd day after the cross. The road conversation took place on the "same day" as Mary went to the empty tomb. And we read at Luke 24:1 that the day Mary went to the tomb was on Sunday morning. So Sunday is the 3rd day after the cross, and that makes Friday the day of the cross
@@AlanMolstad ...Alan...I have spoken to you at length, regarding your perspectives. That took place several months ago. You have never answered the questions that I asked of you, regarding portions of scripture...that refute your concept. Christ was not crucified on Friday. You are wrong about that, along with every one else that supports it. Read the scriptures...they will tell you a different story than the one you attempt to promote.
@@johncollins6755 "On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb." So the girls at the tomb are on Sunday. Next : "Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus," So the guys on the road is the same day = Sunday Next : "And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. " So the girls at the tomb and the boys on the road are doing these things on Sunday, the 3rd day from the cross. And, finally: "‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again" So Jesus was to rise on the 3rd day. The 3rd day is Sunday Friday is the cross...Sunday is the resurrection !
Timeline of Crucifixion week: Nisan 8 Thursday: Jesus dines with Lazarus and his sisters (six days before the Passover, Nisan 14). Nisan 9 Friday: Palm Friday (Jesus rides into Jerusalem in Judgment). Nisan 10 Saturday: Palm Saturday (Jesus rides into Jerusalem in Blessing: the Lamb is chosen on Nisan 10). Nisan 14 Wednesday Jesus dies (the Lamb is killed on Nisan 14); he was buried just before sundown, as Thursday was about to begin. Nisan 15 Thursday: (the high sabbath, plus the sealing of the tomb). Nisan 16 Friday: The women buy and prepare spices. Nisan 17 Saturday: Jesus rose from the dead, just before sundown, as Sunday was about to begin. Nisan 18 Sunday: Firstfruits: Jesus offered himself as the firstfruits of the harvest, on the morrow after the sabbath; the morrow after the sabbath (Saturday) is the next day (Sunday); If Jesus rose on Sunday, he could not offer himself as firstfruits on that same Sunday, as firstfruits are offered after the sabbath (Saturday); he would have to wait a full week, for Saturday to pass, and offer himself on the next day: Sunday Nisan 25. Jesus is the firstfruits of the harvest. The harvest is the Second Coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God bless!
Could it be that the 3 days begins at the time he was arrested -the beginning of his suffering and that "the heart of the earth" refers to his time in Jerusalem and not the grave? "From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day." -Matthew 16:21 "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." -Matthew 12:40 -Just a thought. I haven't yet compared this view to other scriptures or know if that is what the "heart of the earth" could mean. Any thoughts on this?
Hey Julie! There are some that gold to the theory of “belly of the earth” being related to a possible underground prison cell. It is not a very strongly held opinion, though, due to the nature of the prophecy of Jonah being specifically related to death (Jonah 2:2). Neat idea, all the same!
Matthew 12:40 says "so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." That automatically negates the three days and three nights starting at his arrest. I take the start of the three days and nights as being just before sunset Wednesday evening (Abib 15, first day of Unleavened Bread, the high day). So we would have evening (Wednesday) and morning (Thursday), the first day. Then we have evening (Thursday) and morning (Friday), the second day. Finally we have evening (Friday) and morning (Saturday), the third day. Refer to Genesis 1 with help in counting. So the three days and three nights would end right before sunset Saturday or the start of the first day of the week. Remember that according to God's calendar, the days started at evening. So Yeshua would have been resurrected just before sunset at the end of the Sabbath. This can be confirmed by John 20:1, which says that "Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb." This is the night portion of the first day of the week. Yeshua has already been resurrected. A Sunday morning resurrection is not possible in this scenario. Sunday is the day that Yeshua is presented before God as the firstfruits.
Christ was arrested after Sunday Tuesday that would make it for days not 3. The other problem that you might want to look at is that the Pharisees knew the Christ was very very popular. And if they had held him Wednesday and Thursday word would have gotten out that they were trying to kill him calm Friday midday. They never would have been able to accomplish the murder in that length of time. They would have had to have done it by Wednesday before the High Sabbath. It was only one High Sabbath day that week and that was Thursday. The Saturday is a special Sabbath day because it's the first Sabbath after Passover but it's not a High Sabbath day. I had to think about your question a little bit, however, within your question, the outline of that week comes into better focus and actually supports the Wednesday View.
@@steveabraham8847 ...hey Steve, help me out here...IF...Christ arose on Saturday...was he still not "seen" until Sunday morning? That would be Acts 1:2, 3, where from the time he was "seen" on Sunday morning, it was 40 days until his Ascension. Is that what the verses are telling us? IF...that is correct, if that is the case...tell me why the Ascension of Christ was...41 days... from his resurrection? Yet the scriptures take note of...40 days? IN...addition to that, knowing that the day of Pentecost fell 10 days after his Ascension...WHY...did Pentecost fall...51 days...after his resurrection? While scriptures speak of...50 days? WHILE...you are looking at that, can you show me any place in scripture, where an event, any event...takes place in either...41 days or 51 days? KNOWING...the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ is some of the most foundational events in our Christian "theology"....how does GOD get this wrong? Can you tell me why there was a great earthquake at the time of the death of Jesus? Do you think that it was just a coincidence, or happenstance? Once you have given that some though, can you tell me how it was that GOD missed the resurrection of Jesus...by having an great earthquake on Sunday morning? The scriptures inform us that we have an...UNCHANGING GOD...don't they? Well then, GOD was either a day late for the great earthquake for his resurrection...OR...GOD was a day too early, for his crucifixion. Permit me to explain: You say Christ arose on Saturday. Yet the great earth quake did not take place until the day after that. Which means the great earth quake took place...ONE DAY AFTER. So, on the day of crucifixion for Christ, there was a great earth quake...BUT...that earth quake didn't take place ...ONE DAY AFTER... just like it was for his resurrection. Why did the one great earth quake take place on the...DAY OF THE EVENT, and the other great earth quake took place...THE DAY AFTER THE EVENT? So, tell me...why is GOD wishy -washy? Why is GOD not consistent? Why does GOD lie about this nature of his by saying that he is...UNCHANGING? Do you think that maybe GOD was asleep on Saturday? Or perhaps he was on vacation? Perhaps, he was out of the country? Tell me how GOD could be a day late with his own particular declaration...OF THE GREATEST EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD? Help me out....... Thanks......
The last supper took place at Thursday, and Jesus died around 3 PM of Friday, 20 March, year 33 AD. Then he was buried at Saturday, and resurrected at night, or early morning between Sunday and Monday.
2520 is the Lord's devine super cycle. It is the only number that can be divided by all numbers 1-9 without leaving a remainder. A prophetic year in scripture is considered to be 360 days multiplied by 7 which represents God's devine completion, is 2520. If you take 2520 and multiply it by 360 you get 907,200. If you use this number as a measuring rod and lay it down starting at Wednesday May 2nd 28AD and move forward 907,200 days you land on one of the most significant dates in all human history. May 14, 1948.
Thank you! Because I have a "music theory" understanding - it holds a "Friday view" (in music, an interval of one plays the same note, an interval of 2 is only one step apart, but plays 2 notes, etc...in math, this would be "inclusive counting") And - Heaven is VERY music oriented! (Does my view sound a bit prejudice toward musicians😁)
Also another point for the Friday crucifixion, would be that when Jesus said he would be in the heart of the Earth for three days, he was not talking about the grave or tomb. But rather he was talking about the place of the Dead, which is referred to by Old Testament writers as the heart of the Earth or the abyss, the pit. So that would mean that as soon as Jesus died, his spirit was in the heart of the earth even before he was buried. "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison," 1 Peter 3:18-19 ESV
Many great points to both sides in this video. Love that you point to the root of the matter and what is really important, the resection and freedom from death to life. Thank you for the insights!
I would say the biggest of things is "can God's word be trusted?" This means not an easy come easy go attitude to the word of God but to study diligently to determine if true or not. If the word cannot be trusted there is no salvation. 1Corin15:14 *And if Christ has not been raised our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith* It only has value if it is true and can be trusted.
Aurora Mata, you are right about being raised "ON the third day" according to Luke 24:46 and the other ten times Luke 9:22; 18:33; 24:7; Matthew 16:21; 17:23; 20:19; Mark 9:31; 10:34; Acts 10:40 and I Corinthians 15:4. By your response you seem to either be unaware off or are ignoring the five time the Holy writ says "IN the third day" (Matthew 26:21; 27:40; Mark 15:29 and John 2:19, 20) and two times it says "AFTER three days" (Matthew 27:63; Mark 8:31) and the one time simply "THIRD day" (Luke 13:32), and one time Jesus said He would be in the grave Three DAYS and THREE NIGHTS (Matthew 12:40). As such many have concluded the Bible contradicts itself, and some to their shame say it can't be trusted. It does not contradict Itself. Jesus speaking on another simular matter said, "with men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible" ( Matthew:26). The Sign of Jonas: "three days and three nights" is a sign of Christ Jesus' divinity given for the ages. It's a riddle that only God can solve if men are willing to humble themselves and God ask for wisdom (James 1:). and be willing to humbely follow and obey His word to gain the knowledge that unlock the riddle. Aurora, are you one of those men? If you are, and are willing I will show you the keys that unlock all the Bible mistries. Then it will cost you your time and patience.
Hey Peter! We definitely appreciate the comment and the encouraging words! Our goal is always unity in Christ, despite various opinions or thoughts. We are glad that is seen! Thanks again!
The only person I know of who believes that Yeshua was crucified in 28 CE is Michael Rood. I myself don’t believe that. The reason I don’t believe that 28 CE was the year is because of Yeshua’s age. I believe that Michael Rood has Yeshua being born in the fall of 2 BCE, specifically on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), which I agree with. So starting at that point, we can figure out his age in the fall of 28 CE. Yeshua was 1 year old in the fall of 1 BCE, then 2 years old in the fall of 1 CE. Ten years later, in the fall of 11 CE, he would have been 12 years old. In another 10 years, in the fall of 21 CE, he would have been 22 years old. Finally, 7 years later, in the fall of 28 CE, he would have been 29 years old. But we’re talking about the spring of 28 CE, if that is when Yeshua was crucified, when he would have been only 28 years old. Luke 3:23 states that Yeshua began his ministry at about 30 years of age. Yeshua was also a priest. In Numbers 4 it lists one of the requirements for a priest to work in the tabernacle of meeting. They had to be “from thirty years old and above even to fifty years old.” That age requirement is mentioned six more times in Numbers 4, so it had to be important. That’s why I don’t believe in the 28 CE crucifixion date. Yeshua would have turned 30 years old in the fall of 29 CE. The spring of 30 CE is when I believe he was crucified. Forty years later in 70 CE was when Jerusalem fell. But I believe Michael Rood said it fell in 68 CE. There are some that believe he was crucified in 31 CE, which requires you to believe his ministry lasted 3 1/2 years. That also doesn’t match up with the 40 years to the fall of Jerusalem in 70 CE.
I appreciate your even handed treatment of this subject. I have been troubled by traditional "Easter" (the goddess of springtime) celebrations embracing pagan symbols and the antisemitic origins of these, and felt for some time that the traditional Friday - Sunday timeline is flawed. I have heard of, studied, and embraced the Wednesday view, with Jesus's burial just before/at sundown ending Nisan 14 (Just before the Holy Day began on Nisan 15) and the resurrection just before/at sundown that ended the 7th day Sabbath (72 hrs. after His burial) as most compatible with the Biblical narrative (though I remain open to education/instruction such as your thoughtful presentation) I have found the mainstream Christian world mostly resistant to this but lacking any solid or biblical defense of the Easter tradition - other than tradition, itself, the "Hebrew idiom" (discredited) and "Days don't matter, just events." (This is disingenuous. Days DO matter to them - only the traditional ones.) Every spring I am in turmoil. May I ask if, when, and how your group celebrates the resurrection? Are these services livestreamed?
From Friday eve to Sunday morning it’s impossible to fulfill the prophecy . Jesus it’s the author of truth and from him it’s impossible to lie . So what he said was fulfilled . Other wise man has the ability to create theories and fade the truth of God . Jesus indeed die on a Wednesday and rose not on Sunday but Saturday evening. 3 days and 3 nights it’s the prophecy and Jesus is not a liar . What many are confuse it’s the year that he die after Passover was the high sabbath the 1 day of the feast of unleavened bread witch was a high Sabbath . That’s why next day of the the feast of unleavened bread was the day of preparation where Mary went out to collect spices . Same account the high priests went to Pilates to ask permission to lock the tomb . Then was the sabbath. Note that on the dawn to the first day ( not yet the fist day ) Mary went to the tomb and found the stone rolled over ! That means he rose before the first day ! Clear as water . Only problem Catholicism injected This theory’s to makes observants of something but the truth . How dare to call Good Friday when our lord and saviour was brutally abused mocked and nailed to a cross ! Would ever we call a good day if someone of our family members on any other day of the calendar ? Doesn’t that makes us mockers as well by calling that a good day . We’d die Saturday rose Daniel said that in the middle of the week the convent would be taken away from us !!!! Study diligently to show urself approved . Peace
Justin Martyr:. He was quoting the Bible that Jesus died one day before a sabbath and rose on Sunday. In 33 CE there were two sabbath days that weekend, Friday and Saturday. So as far as I can tell, he is not claiming Jesus died on a Friday.
He died in the midst of the week…”And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:27
The only way Friday can work is if you consider a Day from Evening to Morning 1 day per Genesis. Then take Yeshua’s statement of “are there not twelve hours in a day” (loose translation) and then combine them to force three days into the text. Example: Friday Evening to Saturday Morning 1 day. (Per Genesis) Saturday Morning to Saturday Evening 2 Days. (Per Yeshua) Saturday Evening to Sunday Morning 3 Days. (Per Genesis) So as you can see you don’t get 3 nights so there’s no snow ball chance for the Friday people. They rose early Sunday morning, but he had already risen, YES??? So count backwards, Sunday Morning to Saturday Morning 1 Day. Saturday Morning to Friday Morning 2 Days. As you can see Friday just can’t work. But let’s keeping going. Friday Morning to Thursday Morning 3 days and Nights. Wednesday possible, Friday not posible. Peace
Somethings to consider: When Jesus walks with the 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus, and one of the disciples says: "...it is now the third day..." this disciple is not inspired in his statement. While Luke was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write accurately the words the disciple said to Jesus.... the disciple who did not recognize Jesus was not inspired in his description. Also, the Jewish day begins at sunset..... so early on Sunday morning to early on Saturday morning - day 3. Early on Saturday morning to early on Friday morning- day 2. Early on Friday morning to early on Thursday morning- day 1. The evening before Thursday morning is Thursday night. Jesus crucified and died on a Wednesday afternoon, buried at evening when the Jewish day changes to Thursday. But it is a wonder fact that Jesus rose! Interesting video! Thanks!
Good on you ,,,,ill go with the Wednesday view myself, 4 days before the lamb was killed it was inspected ,,,,that would mean God was inspecting his Son while he was riding into town on the donkey. But in saying that I support the Wednesday view does it really matter .. what really matters is that he rose from the dead is now seated at the right hand of the Father and in the not to distant future he is coming back to set up his kingdom on earth and all those living on this planet with the indwelling Holy Spirit will be coming with him..Praise God.
What do you think about Mt 28:1, where it is said that after the sabbaths came the first day of the week? ¶ And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre, (YLT) Does not it mean that there were two sabbaths there between death and resurrection?
...I attempt to view all these articles regarding this event of the 3/3. I look forward to the time when I can finally put my own out here on this medium...and show people the truth, regarding this historic event. For those who seek to minimize this event to "died and rose again", without seeing it as the basis for salvation, I can only say...you need to reconsider that perspective. The Friday crucifixion of Christ, leaves us without a "third night". In fact, Christ being crucified on Friday evening, was actually the beginning of Saturday, according to the Jewish perspective of the week. Which really makes for "shortage" of the 3/3 requirement. The Wednesday crucifixion, in not aligning with the biblical requirement for the lamb, also presents a question, that has been unanswered from those who promote it, regardless of how many times I have asked. That question is: With then, a Saturday resurrection (violating GOD's revealed nature), why would the resurrection, to Ascension, be 41 days, and not 40. Also this makes Pentecost fall 51 days after his resurrection, instead of 50. I point out that there are...NO EVENTS...throughout the bible, that transpire in either 41 or 51 days. Which also violates the "unchanging nature" of GOD. The 10th fell on a Sunday, which was the date of his Triumphal Entry. The date of his crucifixion was required to be on the...14th! Sunday being the 10th of the month...requires...the 14th to fall on...THURSDAY!!! Go to any calendar, with any month where the 10th falls on Sunday...and see for yourself where the 14th falls. These are...REQUIREMENTS...for the Paschal Lamb. NOW...either Christ was obedient to the commands of GOD...OR HE WASN'T! You need to give some thought about that. I would love to speak with you about this, as this reveals the prophecy of Daniel.
One other thought I have a question on is why did Yeshua eat the Passover on the night before execution if Passover did not already start? Watching this now.
Hey Oye! Great question! There has been much discussion on this topic, but it ultimately comes down to the synoptic gospels' passion week chronology and John's chronology. It "seems", and this is, of course, debatable, that Matthew, Mark, and Luke portray Jesus eating the Passover and dying the day after. Their emphasis is Yeshua being the centerpiece of the Passover meal itself, never mentioning a lamb being served at the last supper, but showing Yeshua as the lamb offering his own flesh to be consumed as the salvational sacrificial offering just as the original Passover story. John, however, spends his gospel account portraying Yeshua not as the lamb during the meal, but the lamb that dies. This is emphasized in the opening narrative of his account the actual lamb that would die for the salvation of the world. John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” If this is John's trajectory, it makes sense that he would portray Yeshua's death on Passover and not at the end of Passover during the meal as the synoptic gospels do. Again, this is just one explanation that we tend to favor, but it's not the only one in the rather large discussion. We hope this helps!
..thank you Matthew for sharing what your ministry understands. I have listened to so many perspectives but have yet to hear anyone relay of how the Judim reckoned the days. According to them, which also can be qualified by numerous scriptures in both testaments, any part of a day is reckoned as a whole day. Our savior gives a good account of how he reckoned it in Lk13:32. Also, the heart of the "earth" (G1093) from Strong's, can be understood as other than been in a tomb, but also soil or land. Wasn't our savior's stake propped up in the earth or soil? Consider also, that few think about the prophecy of Amos 8:9 and our Father causing the sun to go down at noon, darkening an otherwise clear day. The Judim would have counted the day portion prior to noon as one day, the darkness as a night, and the period from when it returned to light as another day. So you go figure in the three days and nights and you arrive at the wee hours just prior to the "first" of the week! Your right to emphasize that our savior both died and then rose.
if you love him you keep his commandment so i think its very important because i cant tell what day the sabbath is if i don't know witch im supposed to remember
The Spice Test: No one knew Jesus would die, or that he would die that Wednesday. Jesus had said he would be killed, but the Scriptures were closed; and it was brought to the remembrance of both the women and the apostles, following the Resurrection. The women followed Jesus throughout the events of Wednesday, therefore having no time to buy and prepare spices on Wednesday. The tomb was sealed from Thursday to Sunday, by armed guards. Thursday was a feast sabbath. Friday was the actual day the women bought and prepared spices. Saturday was a weekly sabbath. Sunday the women made their way to an empty tomb. If the death had been on a Friday, there would not be time to buy and prepare spices on Friday. Saturday would be a double sabbath: both a feast sabbath, and a weekly sabbath. Sunday would be the first day to visit the tomb; but they still had to first buy and prepare spices. If the death had been on a Thursday, there would not be time to buy and prepare spices on Thursday. That would make the next day, Friday, a feast sabbath. Saturday would be a weekly sabbath. Sunday would be the first day to visit the tomb; but they still had to first buy and prepare spices. The Friday and Thursday burial scenarios don't pass the spice test. God bless!
If the first century apologists acknowledged that Christ died on Friday then it would be safest to assume they knew something we don't, and I would rather believe in what they have to say than to make up our time lines based on our own assumptions.
Haley Scott : Yes, the most important thing is that He died and rose again, and what He accomplished. I believe we should be united too and not divided over little things (which I assume you mean the discussion on which day these things happened). However, the majority of Christendom has made a BIG THING out of tying these events to days of the week in order to commemorate them, thus making the claims for Friday and Sunday. The Bible supplies dates, as we know what dates the fixed feast of Passover fell on, but the Gentile Church largely ignores these dates in favour of tying them to a day of the week, which is where the confusion begins, as it is the first departure from what the Bible actually says, plus a new calendar now predominates the western world, even changing the division of days at sunset. These things may be 'little' to those who are content to celebrate the Friday to Sunday equation, yet if they do not match Yeshua's own prophetic words of 3 days & 3 nights, then it makes Him out to be a liar, and thus a fraud. This aspect of this is not so 'little,' but is a grave consequence of sticking to even a 'little' man-made error, as Yeshua said, it takes only a little leaven to leaven the whole lump, so even something 'little' in men's eyes may be actually be very big in God's eyes. The message does not change, but will people trust the message if they discover lies & untruth? It is not about wanting to divide, but actually truly uniting by telling them the whole Gospel truth!
Now many people get all upset that because as they count days and nights, what Im posting about the cross being on Friday just does not add up for them? The issue they have is caused by how they counts days and nights compared to how Jesus and the Jews counted days and nights. We count things differently than they did. To us it does not add up, but to the Jews at the time of Christ is did add up correctly. And when Jesus spoke, he was talking to people that he would later appear to after the resurrection, so he spoke to their understandings of days and nights....not ours. So how did the Jews count days and nights you may ask? The answer is that the Jews counted any part of a day as being the whole day. AND it is important to understand that in the Jewish way of thinking, the "evening" came before the "morning" The night of a day like Friday actually happens before the Friday morning. So when we read that Sunday was the 3rd day from the death on the cross, and we then count back and get to Friday being the real day Jesus died on, then we can also understand that although Jesus died in the afternoon on Friday, that the Friday night was already included in this. So the moment Jesus died on Friday afternoon, this is counted as one full night, because Friday night happened BEFORE Friday afternoon ! So after Friday afternoon when it became sunset, this is counted as one full day and night in the grave, Saturday evening starts at that moment, and when the sun came up on Saturday, we have now the official count of 2 full nights and 2 full days in the grave. after Saturday afternoon has ended and its the sunset, this starts the 3rd night in the grave. at Sunday sunrise we have the 3rd "day counted, and the angels tell the women at the tomb that Jesus would rise on the 3rd day. The 3rd day is Sunday The cross was on Friday... it all fits!
On the third day or after three days. After three days must be in reference to his trial on Wednesday. On the third day must be in reference to the day of his death. You must remember the year is 33 CE. The Passover sabbath of the 21st fell on a Friday, so Jesus died Thursday. He was arrested on the 21st. Passover is eaten on the first day of unleavened bread. The Israelites left Egypt on the 15th shortly after eating Passover. So Jesus was arrested on the 15th shortly after eating Passover. We have resolved the problem by understanding the custom of Passover. Thanks for discussing this.
When asked for a sign. Jesus said he would give only one sign, 3 days and 3 nights. From dark time Wed. until dark ttime Sat. is exactly 3 days and 3 nights. The sacrifce of the lamb and the spreading of its blood over the doors on the 14th day of Nissan and Jesus shedding hi blood for us on the 14th day of Nissan is not a coincidence.
Jesus died on Thursday, Nisan 20 in 33 CE. Thus he was in the grave three nights, Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday night. Jesus ate Passover on Friday night. He was arrested early Saturday morning. He was taken to Pilate just before noon and then was sent to Herod later that day. Jesus was with Herod until Wednesday, Nissan 19. Herod returned Jesus Wednesday morning when Herod and Pilate became friends. Jesus had his trial at noon and was impaled at 9 pm Wednesday night. The next day it got dark from noon until 3 pm, when Jesus died. Thursday Nisan 20 was preparation for the Passover sabbath of the 21st, the seventh day of unleavened bread. Jesus was in the grave three nights: Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday night. That's what happened in 33 CE. So note that the lambs were killed on preparation at 3 pm and Jesus died at 3 pm on preparation. Thus Jesus was the Passover lamb. Thanks for discussing this.
Mar 14:12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
The most logical and sensible answer has to be that Jesus died on WEDNESDAY. When Jesus stated he would be within the heart of the earth for 3 days and three nights solidifies it, because, for each day, since the beginning of the Bible, through creation, a "day" consisted of 12 hours and a night also consisted of 12 hours. A "day was consisted of "an evening and a morning"". When Jesus was crucified, it had to be on a Wednesday. he would have been placed in the tomb Wednesday afternoon before sunset, because sunset would have begun as the first "day" of Passover. So, Jesus spent Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night in the tomb until Saturday SUnset, which would have then be Easter Sunday., begiinning at sunset Saturday night, and sometime in the hours following that sunset, he was risen from the dead. It all fits. I would trust HIS word over any from apostles or other people. Friday doesn't work, because there are only 2 days until Sunday.
I absolutely agree, I don;t know why so many Christians refuse to belive what makes sense and is simple to understand. Did they never take math in school or just can;t count. Didn;t Jesus know the difference between night and day, could he not count??
I'll go for Wednesday view to answer the Muslims accusing that the Bible is untrue because if Jesus died on Friday and rose on Sunday it does not corelate to the citing of Jonah's aligory
According to Luke 24...... Q- So the girls are said to be at the tomb on what day? A - the first day of the week Q- And the first day of the week is called? A- Sunday! Q- A the Angel says he would rise on what day? A- The third day Q- And the men on the road are there on what day? A- The same day Q- And that day is called ?. A- The third day Q- So the third day is know as? A- Sunday! Q-So that makes the death on the cross happen on what day? A- Friday!
1. Jonah was running from God as he did not want to prevent the Ninevites as he didn't think they should be saved 2. Jonah or anyone else did not have to die for them, they simply repented and got forgiven, fully 3. Jonah had to repent as well in the belly of the fish for disregarding God's command and only then God told the fish to leave Jonah on the sea shore 4. When Jonah finally warned the city they ALL REPENTED by a ROYAL DECREE Jonah 3: 4 And Jonah commenced to come into the city, one day's walk, and he proclaimed and said, "In another forty days Nineveh shall be overturned! 5 And the people of Nineveh believed in God, and they proclaimed a fast and donned sackcloth, from their greatest to their smallest. 6 And the word reached the king of Nineveh, whereupon he rose from his throne, took off his royal robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat on the ashes. 7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh: By the counsel of the king and his nobles, saying: Neither man nor beast, neither cattle nor sheep shall taste anything; they shall not graze, neither shall they drink water. 8 And they shall cover themselves with sackcloth, both man and beast, and they shall call mightily to God, and everyone shall repent of his evil way and of the dishonest gain which is in their hands. 9 Whoever knows shall repent, and God will relent, and He will return from His burning wrath, and we will not perish. 10 And God saw their deeds, that they had repented of their evil way, and the Lord relented concerning the evil that He had spoken to do to them, and He did not do it. Nothing like this happened when Jesus died. Ieosus the GREEK CHRIST is a FAKE MESSIAH
The most important thing is a true witness... the people who want to act like this and other issues like it are insignificant and don't matter... God does not lie, if something doesn't seem to make sense than you can be sure that man or Satan had something to do with it. To write it off or treat it as insignificant reveals the heart of that Individual. No wonder some scoff at the gospel When the attitude toward what is true or not from Jesus's own mouth is viewed as inconsequential to many out there professing to believe in Him
The feast of unleavened bread vs. The days of unleavened bread I too believe that The Holy Bible - King James Version is the perfect, preserved, inerrant word of God. And I also do believe that Easter is the correct word in Acts 12:4 Acts 12:3 KJV And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) Acts 12:4 KJV And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. The Passover day, plus the feast of unleavened bread may coincide or not with Easter in any given year; but my wish is to illustrate the distinction between the feast of unleavened bread (Nisan 15 till Nisan 21), in contrast to the days of unleavened bread (Nisan 14 till Nisan 20). Leviticus 23:6 KJV And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. Leviticus 23:7 KJV In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Leviticus 23:8 KJV But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Exodus 12:18 KJV In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even. Nisan 14 (1 day: Passover); Nisan 15 till Nisan 21 (7 days: the feast of unleavened bread). Unleavened bread is eaten 7 days, but it starts on Nisan 14 (Passover), not Nissan 15 (annual feast sabbath). Unleavened bread is eaten from Nisan 14 till Nisan 20. As soon as Nisan 21 starts, at the very beginning, at even: sunset, unleavened bread stops being eaten. Nisan 21 is the final day of the feast of unleavened bread. Nisan 21 is also a high sabbath. The whole Passover feast lasts 8 days, including Passover (Nisan 14), plus the feast of unleavened bread (Nisan 15 till Nisan 21). The days of unleavened bread in Acts 12:3 could include the Passover (Nisan 14), because unleavened bread starts being eaten on Nisan 14 at even: sunset. If it had said these were the days of the feast of unleavened bread, then Passover Nisan 14 would be excluded. Nisan 1 is Jewish New Year's Day: the day after the new moon closest to the Spring equinox, within 15 days before or after. Easter is on the first Sunday after the full Moon that occurs on or after the Spring equinox. If the full Moon falls on a Sunday then Easter is the next Sunday. Passover: Nisan 14 may or may not coincide with Easter Sunday in any given year, due to each one having a different formula of calculation. The main point is that The Holy Bible - King James Version is always right, because God is the author, thereby having perfect correlation, and no contradictions: a perfect narrative thread by an infinite God. At the same time, it is important to discern that unleavened bread starts at the very beginning of Passover day, Nisan 14 at even: sundown. In the Crucifixion year, the Passover day started on Jewish Wednesday Nisan14; but in our Roman calendar it was still RomanTuesday at sunset (the start of Passover Nisan 14 was the start of the Last Supper, Jewish Wednesday/Roman Tuesday). This is one of the most misunderstood nuances in the Bible, because many people try to figure out how long Jesus was buried in the grave, without having knowledge of the Passover, which is instituted in Exodus chapter 12. Jesus was buried on Wednesday Nisan 14, just before sunset, and resurrected on Saturday Nisan 17, just before sunset (three days and three nights: 72 hours dead in the grave, proving he is the Messiah: the Christ/the Anointed). People will ask, If Jesus rose on Saturday, why did he appear to Mary Magdalene on Sunday morning? The confusion with Sunday morning is that he was performing firstfruits, on the morrow after the Sabbath. The morrow after the Sabbath (Saturday) is the next day (Sunday). Christ performed firstfruits on Sunday morning because he rose on Saturday. If Christ had risen on Sunday, he cannot perform firstfruits on that same Sunday; he would have to wait another week for the sabbath (Saturday) to pass, and perform firstfruits the next day, Sunday (Sunday one week after the so-called resurrection Sunday). Here is firstfruits: Leviticus 23:9 KJV And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Leviticus 23:10 KJV Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: Leviticus 23:11 KJV And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. Jesus is the Word, the Word is God. Jesus accomplished every thing perfectly, to the last jot and tittle. Isn't the word of God beautiful! God bless!
Now here is something I think needs to be said about such Bible topics where there is a disagreement. When there is a very clear verse, and a bunch of other verses that are not very clear, then you don't force the clear verse to agree with how you understand the unclear verses. You don't force what you see clearly the text saying to make it agree with a bunch of foggy text . This means that you don't take the very clear text found at LUKE 24 and force it to agree with other text that are not very clear. Now the reason you dont do this is that the foggy texts rely on personal points of view to be understood, and that they have many different points of view. You use what you know to help you understand what you don't know. You use what you can understand easily to help you deal with text that are unclear. In this case, the text at LUKE 24 is very clear that Sunday is the 3rd day after the cross. The text clearly teaches this. So LUKE 24 becomes the clear text that you can then use to help understand the unclear texts.
Saturday day of rest was a practice derived both from the need to rest beasts of burden so they’d last longer and in human needs to rest it was established around 2500 BC by the Sumerians for their gods. The Hebrews adopted for the practice and made it their own when they gained their freedom from Egypt. Jesus changed the attachment to the old ways that predated Judaism.
Was SIN really defeated by Yeshuas death, or was the Curse from the sin against The Law defeated? I stil hold to that Wednesday is the very true day that Yeshua died and was put in the grave before sundown. Most places I have found says: After Three Days and Nights apart from that place in Mathew. Michael Roods lineout is very detailed. It could not have been on a Friday since it had to hold to the very days/dates that the original Passover/Feast of Unleavenbred and Firstfruits hold to.
Very, very GOOD presenttion. Yes, Jesus did on Wednesday night, but celebrated His supper the night before. I am so glad that many of the teachings/traditions are being challenged, however, the churches are opposed to anyone who questions/challenges their position. I know from experience what can happen when old /generational traditions/doctrines are brought to the table AND IT;S NOT A VERY PRETTY PICTURE! But thank God due to the internet bibical truths are being exposed to the masses. At least to those who care!! I might also add the first Sunrise service didn't take place until 1732 in Germany. Thank about it, where in the Bible did the Christians or especially the disciples observe a sunrise??
Good stuff Matthew. I’ve been in the “Thursday” camp for a while, however in the last year or so I can see the legitimacy of the “Friday” view. I’ll never know. And I never like it when other people think they do :)
How are you and the Thursday view? Thursday was the high holy day. The only one of that week. The Wednesday view actually is better supported by Christ himself. And when you have Christ's own words rather than those of his disciples who Wirth very good at being wrong many times especially when some of them denied Christ even as he was being punished. I'll take Christ's word over their word every time. And you also must understand that these writings had to move from Aramaic or old Greek to new gray to Latin to English before we get them. And the understanding of the Greek vernacular into English is very very difficult. Why do you think there's such confusion about John 1:1.
@@44hawk28 I was tempted to respond with sarcasm.. but ill just say that i disagree with your dogmatism, but your perspective could be correct. I dont care.
@@TimptingNo1 ...let me ask you an easy thing or two....Do you think that Christ entered Jerusalem on Sunday..."PALM SUNDAY"...? It was required to take the "lamb into the house" on the 10th day of the month (Ex. 12:3). IF...Sunday was the 10th day of the month...what day of the week would the 14th fall on...? Lastly, here is a little perspective to consider as well: You recall that the "New Day" for the Jews...began with their evening...YES? YES! That being the case, the fact that Christ "died" in the evening (Ex. 12:6) that day...ACTUALLY MADE IT SATURDAY...for the Jewish perspective....I can tell you now...there is ...NO WAY...in all of GOD'S CREATION...that you can get 3 days and 3 nights...from the Jewish Saturday to their Jewish Sunday morning..... I would like to talk to you about it... Bless John
@@johncollins6755 i dont want to be condescending but anyone that has studied the topic in depth knows it was a wednesday passover in AD30 with Christ giving israel "40" years to get right before he destroyed the temple and allowed the dispersion to happen in AD 70. Not only is Christ referring to 3 days and 3 nights from the prophet Jonah, but just as God, through Jonah, gave Ninevah 40 days to get right or he would destroy Ninevah, Christ gave Israel 40 days(actually years) very interesting prophesy

Dear sir, Jesus, though said about Jonah's sign that He would be 3 days & 3 nights in the heart of the earth, the Lord Jesus would rise again the Third day not after 3 days & 3 nights. There are at least 10 verses showing that Jesus Himself Saying "I would be raised on the THIRD DAY. SO WITHIN THREE DAYS HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD. Mathew records 3 times, Mark records 2 times & Luke records 5 tmes. One verse shows clearly in Luke 24 7, 21 ,32, 33, 35, 36 nd 46 . The third day Jesus met the disciples in a closed room showing Himself alive to them.
Very well explained, a brother and I differ but, do not argue the view Haha he holds to Friday and I hold to Wednesday or Thursday because of the sign of Jonah. We were just discussing this last night! Thanks
The sign of Jonah is the time of " Son of Man" , the Angel that spoke with John at Patmos. Not Jesus that was made both Lord and Christ when risen from the curse of the tree, after preaching to the spirits in prison: 1 Peter 3:19-20 "By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; (20) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
I believe He rose on Saturday at sunset on the third day. The Bible does not say the women came on the same day He rose, only that they came early on the third day. He is our Passover lamb that's why He died on Passover. Also a look at an interlinear for Luke 24:21 simply says that three days passed between the death and the women going to the tomb; not that it is now the third day or that the women went on the third day.
Look at it like this, in a 24hr period, 2 things took place starting at the end of the 14th day of the month Remember the evening and the morning make one day 1. The Passover is the evening until morning of the 15th day, a Thursday the 5th day of the week 2. The High Sabbath, the day of the crucifixion is from the morning of the 15th day, until the evening, which was the 5th day of the week a Thursday Two things in one 24hr day
Thank you for your compassionate offering of this subject. You helped me to remember what is really important as I dig in to the scriptures. I would like a fuller teaching by you (if you have time please) of the women buying the oils. One scripture says they bought before the sabbath (Luke 23:56) and another after the Sabbath (Mark 16:1-2). So I think there would have to be a day in between the two sabbaths - Unleavened bread and First Fruits- in order for them to buy. If Jesus died on Friday they couldn’t have bought on Saturday because it was shabbat . At least I am not seeing another way around this. Do you? I would appreciate you take on this as I am going to be discussing this with our women’s group soon. But yes I will remember what i s important. Thank you for that
The Sabbath isn't only the day of rest. The Sabbath began the high days of Jewish Passover, and ended it a week later. Hence, these weeks had 2 Sabbaths. (There are around 64 Sabbaths in 52 weeks. )John makes it clear that Jesus' body was to be taken down because of the high Sabbath (Passover Sabbath.) It was after this Passover Sabbath that the women bought spices. The day after was the weekly Sabbath. If you look at the Young' s Literal translation, it basically says after the Sabbaths. Then why do we observe Good Friday? The early church wanted the Resurrection of Christ to fall always on a Sunday. So the early church uprooted Christ's Resurrection from its Jewish roots, and proclaimed any deviation from this practice as heretical. Look up Quartodeciman controversy (translates as 14ers, from Nissan 14 when Passover was celebrated by the Jews) for the details.
According to law he couldn't stay on the cross because it would pollute the land. So he was taken down that evening and put in the tomb so the land wouldn't be polluted.
Founded in truth, for the 3 days and 3 nights view, people take ONE out of context scripture, Matt 12; 40 and you reject the SIXTEEN scriptures that say Jesus rose on the 3rd day. You cannot get the 3rd day out of 3 days and 3 nights. You cannot get a Wednesday or Thursday or a Friday crucifixion out of 3 days and 3 nights. After 3 days, in the Greek Bible texts, means, " On the 3rd day". The gospels tell us that Jesus was crucified on a Friday. If people study and believe the gospels, they would know that they tell us what Jesus did from Day to day from Palm Sunday to resurrection Sunday, and Jesus was still alive on Friday until 3pm.
Yeshua spoke in parables to unbelievers so they would not understand but those two walking on the road knew the timing and had counted that day as the third day. Hosea 6:2 and 2kings 20:1-5 show after 2 day (Hosea) he would have those believers that died trusting in him like Noah Abraham Isaac and Jacob ready to be revived those that died trusting in him and that on the 3rd day he would go to his fathers house (2kings) to make atonment for all believers. 3 days and 3 nights can be understood as 3 evenings. When you draw out two days you can see 3 sunsets and now look past the two days into the 3rd day when the two were walking on the road it would be the 3rd day when he was raised. Thurday before sunset is correct if we can see or understand it meant 3 evenings. Market owners could open shop after shabbat and people can buy things after shabbat after sunset or very early morning after a Sabbath on the first day of the week its smart business.
I think Jesus included thursday night since At his arrest He stated It was the hour of darkness On the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK TWO MARYS WENT TO THE TOMB THATS SUNDAY
Why can no one see what's right in front of their faces? Was Jonah 'dead' for 3 'Days' and 3 'Nights'❓🤔❓So why did YAHshua have to be 'dead' for 3 'days' and 3 'nights' then? YAHshua ate the Last Supper the evening 🌆 before Passover the 13th of Abib, that 'Night' 🌃 He was Arrested, Tried at multiple Trials, the Jewish one, Pilot, Herod, and back to Pilot, found innocent at the last one, beaten, forced to carry a tree up a long hill on the morning of the 14th of Abib, Passover morning 🌅,, nailed to the tree freshly planted in the ground on top of a hill at the 3rd Hour, our 9AM conversed with two thieves planted on trees beside Him, made arrangements for the care and keeping of His Mother, talked to His Father, bowed His head and 'Died' at the 9th Hour' of the Biblical 'Day' which is our 3PM so a Bible 'Day' is from our 6AM to our 6PM which kind of shoots the Sunset 🌄 to Sunset 🌄 Babylon 'Day' full of holes and the midnight 🌃 to Midnight 🌃 'Day' of the Romans full of holes too. YAHshua said, "Are there not 12 Hour's in a 'Day'?" Apparently the Babylonian's and the Roman's don't think so. A whole lot went on from the Time YAHshua died until His body was released, prepared for burial and placed in the Tomb before Dawn 🌆 the 'DAY' of the 15th, the 7th 'DAY' SABBATH 'DAY', a full 🌕 Moon 'DAY' and 1st 'DAY' of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, YAHshua rested in the Tomb on the full 7th 'DAY' SABBATH 'DAY' and somewhere during the 'Night' of the 15th, before the 'Day' of the 16th which was the 2nd 'Day' of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the 1st 'Day' of the 3rd week of the Moon-th of Abib YAHshua was raised back to life. The Morning 🌅 of the 16th YAHshua had still not yet assended up to see His Father and He told Mary to go tell the Disciples of that important detail. So from the time of His arrest to the time of His trip of being 'Raised Up' to see his Father was how many 'Days' and 'Nights'❓🤔❓ At the time of YAHshua's Crucification there was no Wednesday, Friday/Venus 'Day', Satyrday 🪐 or Sun 🌞 Day. Jesus died on Friday as it is in Bible that says ( I will destroy the temple and in three days I will rebuild it.) But the sign of Jonah 3 days and 3 night means it counted from the time Jesus betrayed by Judas ( a human being made up of Clay "earth") that is in Thursday ( day 1 n night 1) then died on Friday (day2 n night 2) then sabbathon ( day3 n night3) then after night 3 came Sunday morning Jesus resurrection
Jesus died on the passover this is why he is our passover lamb: Matthew 26:2-19 John 18:28 Luke 22:15 John 13:1-3 Mark 14:12-25 John 11:55. When is passover: Ezekiel 45:21 1 month of the 14th day Deuteronomy 16:1-2 the first month in the Hebrew calendar is Abib/Nisan in our language it is April. Which means 3 days would be the 17th April which would mean Jesus Christ (Yeshua) was one died on the passover 14th abib/Nisan/April and two his resurrection would of be the 17th April/Abib/Nisan
...G...run over to Gen. 8:4...and you will see the prophecy for the date of the resurrection of Christ..... IF...you hold to the observance of the "first fruits"...you will see that they were presented to GOD, early of the morning, on the first day of the week....Sunday... Bless
The Bible vs. Traditions: Psalm 12:6 KJV The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Mark 7:13 KJV Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Example 1: The world teaches a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday-morning resurrection, while the Bible teaches a Wednesday Crucifixion and a Saturday Resurrection. Example 2: The world teaches a triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, while the Bible teaches 2 triumphal entries into Jerusalem, and neither one was on a Sunday. The 2 REAL triumphal entries into Jerusalem: Friday Nisan 9, in Judgment Saturday Nisan 10 in blessing When people are steeped in traditions, Bible truth can cause shell shock, or cognitive dissonance. But ultimately, we must conform to the Bible, instead of making the Bible conform to what we want it to say. These examples of a Friday-to-Sunday burial, and the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, are just 2 of many which illustrate the difference between truth and fiction. There are so many more examples: Example 3: Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy clearly shows that Jesus would have a 7-year Ministry; but the world moved these seven years 2 thousand years into the future and calls it The Great Tribulation. Example 4: The Bible clearly shows that the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is a very public and loud event, while the world calls it a secret Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) Based on the fictional Great Tribulation period of 7 years, the world has 3 views of when the secret Rapture happens (the point at which the Christians disappear): Pre-Trib = just before the 7-year Tribulation; Mid-Trib = at the halfway point of the 7 year-Tribulation (at the three-and-a-half -year mark); Post-Trib = right after the 7-year Tribulation; The Bible truth is that the real event is the Second Coming. Example 5: The shape of the earth. The world makes you choose between heliocentric and geocentric earth (a spinning ball earth with either the sun being in the center of a solar-system model, or the earth being the center of that same Solar-system model), when the truth is The Creation: a flat earth: Isaiah 40:22 KJV It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: Psalm 33:14 KJV From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. Water flows downhill, fills the shape of its receptacle, and levels. Example 6: The world portrays death as living in heaven or hell as soon as people die, while the Bible describes hell as the grave and that no dead person lives until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The verses people cite to try to prove immediate afterlife don't mean what people think they mean. Example 7: The world is either Arminian, believing everything is freewill, or that everything is predestinated. These are the 2 extremes. Complete freewill would make our God a weak God. Predestination of all things is labeled Calvinism, and would make God the sinner, because every thing is predestinated: we would not be responsible for any of our sins, as we have no control of what we do. The truth is that, when it comes to eternal life, God has predestinated the elect (his chosen, from both the Jews and the Gentiles: non-Jews). But when it comes to this life here on earth, God is not concerned with what color of shirt you wear today. God works all things, but he doesn't predestinate all things: Ephesians 1:11 KJV In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Ephesians 1:4 KJV According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Acts 13:48 KJV And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. The parable of the wheat and the tares clearly illustrates the good seed, and the bad seed. The good seed will have eternal life: they will be imputed righteousness through the Crucifixion and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our works will not get us eternal life; our works are simply the evidence that we already have eternal life: 1 John 5:1 KJV Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. The belief does not come from you; it is God who gives you the belief/faith. John 3:5 KJV Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:8 KJV The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Verse 5 has been used to justify mandatory baptism, but it simply describes the normal way you are born into the world, inside water, which breaks before your mother gives you birth. This is the natural birth. Verse 8 describes the supernatural/spiritual birth, like the wind. Just like you have no control over your first birth, you have no control over your second birth. The wind/Spirit affects those that are predestinated to eternal life. For those who object to predestination, saying it's not fair, please observe that if God didn't choose some to eternal life, all people would be destroyed in the lake of fire: the second death. Just like the first death is described as sleep (unconsciousness), the second death is a perishing: no consciousness. Body + spirit (breath) = soul (conscience) Soul = life (consciousness). A soul is a person: Exodus 12:4 KJV And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. There are many other examples of truth and fiction, but these here suffice to show that truth must prevail; Jesus Christ is The Truth. The only way you are going to get the truth is if you read The Holy Bible -King James Version (KJV). There are hundreds of false bibles. Things that are different are not the same! God Bless!
The next day after Jesus was crucified, the Sabbath drew on luke23v54 to 56 and Jesus rested on the Sabbath day according to Gods commands😮 quite simple really no need to be confused which is what your vid is all about😮 it is written 😊
It completely matters. Don't water down this event. Not once did you mention Feast of Unleavened bread, you didn't speak about how the Jews kept the calendar of days of Jesus time. It's like xmas, when was our Saviour born, certainly not dec 25. If my earthly father invited me to a meal on Mon night at 6 pm and I didn't show up till wed afternoon at 3 pm, how pleased would my father be with me. Now, how pleased is God / Yahweh with us if we celebrate on the wrong day.
You dismissed the Thursday view without examining it. As for the women buying spices after the Sabbath, they would have purchased them after Saturday sundown on the beginning of the next day which would be early Sunday night. With a Thursday Passover and crucifixion, Jesus would have been in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights. There would be a very little part of Thursday`s day before sunset, all of Friday and Saturday day and night, and good part of Sunday night before sunrise. There you have 3 days and nights. Sunday before sunrise is both within and on the 3rd day of 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb and yet after the 3rd day of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On the statement of Justin Martyr, the early apostolic and mostly Jewish believers did not commemorate Jesus death on a particular day of the week but on Passover which Paul in 1 Corinthians 5:7,8 tells them that Christ is the Passover lamb and to celebrate the festival. Since it is not on a fixed day of the week, the latter gentile church practice was to fix it on the day before the weekly Sabbath. Justin Martyr argument is for the light has shone in the risen son on the metaphorical sun day, and out of the darkness of the crucifixion on the day or so before Saturday. It may be that he uses the day before Saturday loosely as the day before the Sabbath as you have done with the sign of Jonah of 3 days and nights. Or he may have confused or intentionally merged the high with the weekly Sabbath. An additional argument concerns Daniel`s prophecy that Messiah would be cut off after 69 weeks of years. If you use the Hebrew method for calculating the 20th year of Artaxerxes decree in 445 BC you arrive at 32 AD for the Triumphal entry and Thursday as the Passover. But if you use the Babylonian method of beginning with the full year of his reign, the decree would be in 444 BC and you arrive at a Friday Passover in 33 AD. I think Thursday harmonizes the data the best but the good news is Jesus died for our sins on what ever day and is risen!
No Jesus did not die on Wednednay or Thursday. It does tell us what day Jesus died on, and it was the before the Sabbath according to the scriptures. To say otherwise is error.
@@allendaves2001 It was not the day before the regular Sabbath. Bible says it was a "High Sabbath".- meaning a sabbath for a special Feast day. Also, there was another Sabbath after this sabbath making 2 Sabbaths in a row. Also Friday makes very bad divine math - not 3 days in the grave.
...Jen...remember that the Jewish day ran from "evening to evening"...go to Lev. 23:32...the Sabbath was from "evening to evening"...So, when Christ entered into Jerusalem, with his disciples...that evening...it would be the 1st evening for the day (14th)....By the time of the 2nd evening for that day (14th)...they would be removing Christ from the cross.. Bless you, John
Founded in truth, the gospels do tell us that Jesus was crucified on a Friday. Why don't you read and believe the Bible?. People take ONE out of context scripture, Mt 12: 40, and it's 3 days and 3 nights. And you reject the NINETEEN scriptures that say Jesus rose on the 3rd day. When the Bible says Jesus rose after 3 days, the Greek texts says "On the third day" You can't get the 3rd day out of 3 days and 3 nights. You can't get a Wednesday or a Thursday or a Friday crucifixion out of 3 days and 3 nights. If you take Matt 12: 40 literally. The sign of Jonah to Nineveh Washington him being 3 days and 3 nights in the great fish, because he was hundreds of miles from Nineveh, going away from it when he went into the fish. The reason why John said that Sabbath was a High day, was because it was Passover week. If you Read the gospels the week that Jesus was crucified, you'll only find ONE Sabbath day, which was the weekly Saturday Sabbath day. Lk 23: 56. tells us that the woman already had the spices. It doesn't say they bought their that day. Mk 16: 1 doesn't say when they bought the spices. Mark and John proves that Jesus was crucified on a Friday.
Ever thing is back to front Liear came first and Rachel came last. Reuben got cursed, because he went up to his fathers crouch and it damage Benjamin, God chose David instead of his brothers, John said, he must increase and i decrease . The law and the prophets were until John. Jesus said of all the men born of women there is none greater then John but he shall be the least in the kingdom. After christ die in the middle of the week Wednesday. The Gentiles observe friday, and rose Saturday. The gentiles observe Sundays. Because they didn't get the law of Moses. That's why mathew said on the first day of the week, mark, Luke, John and Acts early the first day week that represents the gentiles. Thanks for taking the information.
The TIME of Jesus' death recorded in the scripture PROVES that He did not die on Friday. When the Passover was slain on Friday, the High Priest slaughtered the national lamb by 2:00 pm. Jesus' death which was to be the antitypical Passover lamb for the nation, if it was at 3:00 on Passover He was slaughtered at the time of just another common lamb. Also for Him to have awakened on Sunday Morning, the "three days and three nights" sign that He gave was an idiom to the Jews, who would not accept anyone to have been legally dead if they awakened from a "coma like state" only 36 hours, BEFORE THREE DAYS had past! That was the time frame by His day that legal and medical authorities determined from their long history, that no one had ever returned. That is why Jesus waited FOUR DAYS to come resurrect Lazarus, so there would be no doubt that he was dead that that he was truly resurrected, not just awakened from a deep coma. Also the two witnesses in Revelation are resurrected after THREE AND ONE HALF DAYS. Once again resurrecting at a time in which no one would consider they had awakened from a coma, their resurrections would not have been doubted after they were VISIBLY DEAD for 3 1/2 DAYS. SO those are two points which most do not know if they have never studied the Hebraic roots of the faith, which prove His death was not on Friday. Dr. E. W Bullinger an Anglican priest from the 1850 edited a bible called the Companion Bible who explains in his appendix, how the death and resurrection of Messiah was on a Wednesday/Sabbath even chronology.
Well, we should always remember according to the jewish culture, they count the beginning of the day from sunset, unlike modern western world. So a Thursday morning crucifixion then afternoon death on the cross just before sunset would make sense. Friday was the sabbath of the pesach and Saturday a weekly sabbath. Then on the third day (which already started from Saturday evening) early in the morning, Jesus rose from the dead. , Here you have 3 days 3 nights. And here you have Jesus rose on the third day. Here you can fit everything in the bible.
Hey brother/sister! There is only one problem with this interpretation, at least in my point of view (I'm not trying to be the "voice of reason" or anything). If Friday was the Pesach and Saturday (obviously) was the Sabbath, how would the women buy and prepare the spices? All the commercial operations were closed BOTH on Friday AND on Sabbath using your logic, so there's no "time in between" that could let them buy the spices. I'm my opinion, there's only these two options (the Wednesday crucifixion, which I myself tend towards, and the traditional Friday crucifixion), because they are the only ones that give the women the "opportunity" to legally buy anything! But that's just my opinion. Regardless of that, of course the most important thing is that Our Lord and Savior, Yeshua, has risen, and He lives forever! God bless you, brother/sister!
@@rafaelm.quesada1810 Thursday morning crucifixion can still give time for the women to buy stuff. Well I think there is no chance of survival on the cross so when the order of crucifying Jesus was issued, all of the followers would have had an “expectation” that Jesus would surly die on the cross. Since Thursday before sunset was still normal day and markets were still open. There was a whole full day ( from sunrise when the order was issued till sunset when pesach began) and so once the body was taken down from the cross all the spices for wrapping were already bought and prepared. This is my thought
