Excuse me you'll probably not see this comment but is there a thing if someone stole something from your luggage wall it's in their care Because a family member got their game system stolen wall it was in the airlines care
Are airlines responsible for damages to a personal wheelchair on a domestic flight from Alabama to California with a layover and change of plane at the Denver Airport?
The problem is not the term of condition. The problem is no one is enforcing it, that’s why you see so many people can’t get their refunds or compensation unless you are a influencer or viral on internet.
@@sunshinehope9825You should definitely ask. If it’s the airline fault that your baggage and or items are damaged because of the airline then you should definitely request a refund even if you have to take them to court. You should definitely take before and after pictures though since that is the most effective proof.
@@MaxStrongmanif they lose your whole bag yeah. Not if they damage your case a bit, like a dent or scratch. And even if they lose your whole bag. You can only claim so much I think if you traveled in first class or something. If you flew economy and they broke your bag it wouldn't be that much, and even the contents wouldn't be replaced for that much.
I had a violin that someone put on top of some other suitcase via Delta...literally crushed my violin. I waited in line and had a "spirited" discussion with someone who represented Delta...they paid for the $600 violin, which the should have. Yes she is right.
@@prettyacct Yes, you’re allowed to bring instruments, but you don’t have to put it with the larger suitcases, you can bring it as a carry on (I think). As for why, a lot of ppl still like to practice while they’re on vacation. I speak from experience as I often bring my violin when I’m going to be gone for a while.
All I have to say is: Good luck. Unless corporate says they'll pay you, you're not getting paid. You have to make a fuss about it, and even if you do get through without social media, they will take their sweet time.
the biggest issue with this is that you think people actually speak like that. 9/10 they talk over you constantly or don't listen to what you say and ignore everything.
This sort of content always follows the perfect script when in reality you just cry because you've lost all your stuff. They've always got dead smiles too, freaks me out
This conversation will literally never go down this way, ever, not once, and that's why this content is annoying. If every person on earth faced this scenario every day until the end of time in all those instances the conversation would not go like this even once. Not ever, won't happen.
That's my specialty, if my social anxiety and stress is over powered by my Hot blooded frustration and stress... yeah... I'll be heard, but not taken out if I'm feeling balanced.
He doesn’t know I watch Ericka 🤭 You actually have to reimburse the flight company up to 3800 dollars for partaking in their mid flight damage reversals
This has happened to me and my family before! One of the other workers stepped in and told us the terms and conditions of a damaged suitcase and explained it to the first worker we talked to All was well in the end😁👍🏾
I was at customer service, and the lady next to me was trying to get money for a damaged bag. They said no because it "wasn't made in America".... 😂😂🤦♀️ I didn't even know that lady but I told off that worker. They were just trying to take advantage of an older lady.
They wouldn’t compensate her because the bag wasn’t made in America? I swear, people get too comfortable when violence isn’t a real threat because that worker should be backhanded.
You're sign off about, "that's why I follow her." Is the best, most positive feeling ask I've seen. I instant subbed the first vid I saw, but it feels positive every time. I wish I could subscribe again. Lol
Extra tip: if possible, when you take the picture of your bag, hold up a newspaper/magazine/document next to the case that shows the date of the day you took the picture. Yes, the date the picture was taken appears in the metadata of it, but it doesn't hurt to have an extra visual confirmation that the picture is actually from right before the flight when you're trying to claim these compensations.
Erika, you probably won’t read this but I just wanted you to know how incredible your videos are. This line alone ‘she reads the fine print so I don’t have to’ just makes me realise how much I’m pressing ‘accept’ on a contract and not reading anything. It’s scary.
On top of filling out the forms, you’re going to need your *original receipts* for the items as well, which is kinda crazy. Delta literally ran over my bag and refused to reimburse me for my items, so I bugged them every day for about two months until they did. It was a nightmare.
That sucks. I guess they were hoping you kept running around in circles until you give up. It’s likely one of the ways they save money or even make money by half assing it.
I had my stroller damaged and they sent me the value of my stroller! This was a few years ago and they were really nice about it! Just sad I had gotten the cheaper color haha!
Your lucky! My cousin left her babies car seat at the airport on accident and it came back a mess, pieces were missing and it was torn apart, really hope she gets her money back!
@@yjas8904if your parents changed the time then probably yes If your parents were charged but didnt change the time then no If its a delay then no If its a delay but had to pay extra yes but thats litteraly just scamming ppl
I read it a little bit, USDOT set a maximum compensation of $3800 for domestic flight in the US. They can offer compensation up to that amount, in case the airline lost the bag and you have expensive stuffs. But don't expect them to hand you $3800 for a broken wheel.
That's the whole problem with her. She's encouraging people to scream, fight, and harass employees who literally have no control. You have to go through the proper channels. But whatever to sell her course.
@@fandomgirl94Sometimes that’s how you get through to people. Trust me, despite being in a completely different ballgame than flight attendants and airline reps, there are times in my line of work that people tell me I’m a lot more understanding and accommodating, like, how bad were the cashiers in other stores that they won’t budge on a request, not even asking a manager what that singular store’s policy is?
Be also careful with gate check-ins. For years I thought I was signing the tag to claim that it’s mine and in case it gets lost, but in small fine print it also says that “I am responsible if it breaks”.
“ Erika did!! She’s a lawyer and reads the fine print so I don’t have to!! That’s why I follow her!!!!” Girl be having the same energy and sounds exactly like Dora 😂
SW damaged my bag, then gave me a new one to replace it. 10 years on I still have it and it is great. I thanked the counter staff and wrote a nice letter. No garments were really harmed. Good job SW.
Finally someone stepping up to tackle bag damage, I’ll be sure to take pictures of all my bags from all angles before I travel in future. It’s such a common problem.
Setting the value issue aside for a minute, NEVER accept a travel voucher in any amount for anything. They always have some kind of conditions and restrictions and are usually only applicable to full fare.
You should get compensation based off of the actual damage. I feel like people are going to try to push for thousands after there second hand luggage was scratched. Poor airport workers honestly
I had just gotten these brand new vinyl ID tags and Southwest ripped one all up its first time on my bag. I complained, mostly out of principle, and they shut me up with a $300 voucher. I was shocked.
I had one of my handled just ripped off of my bag. It was VERY noticeable because where the handles came off, it took quite a bit of fabric off as well. It took ageeessss to be able to talk to someone and figure out what I can do. I had to give permission for the airline to send my bag somewhere in Texas to get fixed. They deemed it was unfixable and instead told me I could get whatever luggage/bag I wanted from their website. Not super happy they couldn’t fix my suitcase because my bag had sentimental value, but I was able to get a big suitcase that was very nice. It took months, but I’m happy I stuck with it haha
I'm from the UK and the amount of stories of people having damaged suitcases, wheelchairs, prams etc is wild. I've just bought a new medium suitcase that has a 2 year damage warrantee : as a registered blind person, I need the extra insurance. I think all travel luggage items & aids need a travel warrantee. Xx
I really appreciate these posts, as I have learned from some of them. But as recently as this morning I got a 2 hour runaround regarding a company who did not provide the service they sold me. This was another 2 hours on top of weeks of pursuing it. My point being, NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE ever says "Just fill out this form and we will send you a check" or if they say it, then they still do not mail the check. The agenda of most of these companies is to give you the runaround and stall you out until you just give up. And on the one I am now dealing with, I am probably down to around $10. per hour for my time in dealing with it, even if I do get reimbursed. What I do plan, though, is to post a video about the company, similar to United Breaks Guitars. And BTW- if you watch United Breaks Guitars and see what happened to the musician BEFORE he posted videos, that is the real world of how airlines respond to complaints of damaged and lost luggage.
