What deportation looks like: scenes from a Guatemalan airport 

Every day people gather at an airport in Guatemala City to greet their loved ones and friends who have been deported from the United States.
Sandra Patricia Castaneda was deported to Guatemala on August 8, 2018, leaving behind her son Eduardo, who remains in the U.S.
She said leaving her child behind is bittersweet because though she misses him, she fears for his safety if he returns to Guatemala.
