It’s really sad that all Bee has ever known is war. The autobots are fighting for a peaceful Cybertron but he’s literally never seen a peaceful Cybertron
What make me giggle is that the one who has not change their occupation ever is Shockwave, he will always just be a scientist. Also the way you describe him, you make it seem like he like that odd cybertronian version of a wizard: mysterious, always doing his own things, creating/impacting society is some shape or form and mainly living away from society like some odd genius hermit.
You know, that Starscream explanation actually helps the fact that so many Decepticons are aircrafts, it's because a lot of them were part of the air force.
In a way it makes me feel bad for Megatron and other decepticons, since Transformers don't really die of old age, he could have been in that mine for thousands of years.
The Seperatist Alliance, the Decepticons, the Empire. All these bad guys are shown as just that, bad guys. It's only when you dig deep into the story do you realize these guys didn't just fight to fight. They all had reasons and all fought for good causes, but they were either hijacked by evil or taken to extreme levels. It's sad really, part of me wants to support them.
@@DeltaEchoFoxtrot most of the shows yes but comics like MTMTE (or the whole IDW continuity I think) shows their true nature. Autobots and Decepticons have the same goal, but the way they do it is different and therefore the future each one aim for is different. That's the thing in every transformers universe, if an Autobot decides to kill or torture because that would be "the easy way" or for revenge, they are just like the Decepticons. That's the fine line in the WHOLE Transformers franchise.
@@DeltaEchoFoxtrot Its funny how people always get really aggressive when you say something like: "Hey actually Sith are not necessarily evil." To be honest, i can really understand Megatrons reasoning and motivation. I dont think he would have made a bad leader if the Autobots had surrendered. After all he is a warrior and showed to have a sense of honor in several situations.
Gen 1 Soundwave: I get to make RECTANGLES!!! Animated Soundwave: I will drug hot chocolate Prime Soundwave: ............... *spacebridge sounds*........ Cyberverse Soundwave: Op DJ
Hey, does anyone remember when Knockout tried to roundhouse kick Optimus in the background of one fight scene? I think it was the episode TMI in the first season. That is always so funny to me every time I see it and I don't know why. I just felt like I should mention it because nobody seems to talk about it even tho that is a very brave move to make.
I just rewatched the episode and in the opening fight scene, he fights Optimus pretty much the entire time and gets away with it. That’s honestly amazing.
Huh, you mentioning Arcee could have been a cop makes her parallels with Animated Prowl even greater. The two are already martial artists that transform into motorcycles, who have a vengeance quest after losing a loved one. Granted Animated Prowl only took the appearance of a cop motorcycle. It's unknown if he was ever a cop on Cybertron and seems a bit unlikely due to Prowl trying to avoid being drafted before being taught by Yokitron. Though it can be implied that the Cyber Ninja Corps serves a similar role to the military police, due to Warpath capturing Prowl after he avoided being drafted.
Back when I was younger, I used to think that Prime and Animated were linked somehow, that Prime was some sort of sequel to Animated, since they use the same cast only replacing Prowl with Arcee - who also appeared in Animated and was fixed in the end so she regained her memories and personality, and since Prowl died in the end. I thought that Arcee decided to go blue and then replaced Prowl in Prime. I didn't really think about Cliffjumper or the Decepticons, I only thought about the Autobot team XD Well, maybe I didn't REALLY believe that Prime was a sequel to Animated, but I did see a connection between the two because of the Autobot cast. It was many years ago, I don't really remember. :P
@@Rubywing4 I knew they were seperate as a kid but I did really like the concept of Bulkhead maturing into the jovial but more responsible bot we saw in Prime. If not cannonically it was still a great legacy.
I would have loved Cliffjumper telling jokes during battles or in the base. xd Also, it's so... idk, sad that Smokescreen and Bumblebee were created in the war, like, they don't even have the idea for what the war is for, at least not as the others who were created before it. Just fighting for something they didn't even know by themselves and just to live for something more than war.
This makes me want to see a series before the events of Transformers: Prime. It would certainly be interesting to see how our beloved characters grew to become the bots we know today from the show.
Transformers Prime is like the Breaking Bad equivalent, a prequel series in the style of Better Call Saul concerning the war would be amazing. Though granted it is thousands of years of history to comb through, but nonetheless.
Late to comment, but I always loved how even in Prime, he avoided unnecessary death. He could've very easily attacked the kids upon them first finding him, but they weren't a threat in his eyes. So he let them be. It's still technically the same reason Megatron ignored the first kid to discover him, however, when you think about it, the kids were attempting actual sabotage when Soundwave found them. And coming from a society where minicons mostly served bigger bots as spies, and with Soundwave being intimately aware of how important spy work is, he could've decided to dispose of the potential threat. Beyond being a kid show, Soundwave wasn't unnecessarily cruel and accessed the threat and deemed them not worth killing at the time
Assuming Arcee was a police officer before the war, I feel like it would be more likely she would’ve been a cop post-predacons rising, especially compared to bumblebee who didn’t even like being a cop, I feel like she should’ve been in RID 2016 replacing strongarm, only problem with this would be that if that happened her character would be ruined like how they did bumblebee and grimlock
@@theghostofjeffgoldblumdail9613 Aw, yeah that's too bad. It would be nice if the show would tell us how the other cast members of Prime are doing now that the war is over. Like, Knock Out, Smokescreen, Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack. As well as what happened with Shockwave and Airachnid and the Insecticons. And Predaking.
Grimlock Is very likely a different grimlock I don’t know How it works in the alliene continuity But in the past we do see some transformers having kids and descendents of they’re own So It is possibly that Green walling baffoon of a comic relief Is the son of THE OTHER grimlock Regardless of rather you take The comics as cannon or not yeah It’s possible As for Bee...well That’s just Hasbro Making $$
@Samuel Cannon Unreliable Narratives is officially set in the TFP universe. I even watched the panel that saw the story come to life. tfwiki.net/wiki/Unreliable_Narratives Wheeljack says that he is multiple things, that he has layers.
@@buttonmashthegamer7019 Excuse me? It's literally got a tfwiki page and multiple other pages confirming its canonicity. And in lieu of your comment, why should I believe what you're saying when I know it's wrong.
6:22 I saw a headcannon that Knockout was a lowclass bot that he was homeless, had no job and couldnt be helped. But once the war started he joined the cons and got his finish, which is why he cares so deeply about it
You know what would be cool? A Transformers Prime show about what happened before the Autobots and Decepticons arrived on Earth. Like what they did and how they met and stuff. The same creators of TP would have to make the show, though, because I don't trust anyone else lol. But it would be awesome to see, I would definitely watch it.
He had experience with science, but his main job wasn't scientist. Especially if you dispute the canon validity of the games, because mostly Starscream's military position is stressed
"Soundwave seemed to gain a dark curiosity and so he migrated to Kaon to begin doing combiner experiments on the gladiators. Here he met Megatron and Soundwave"
who else would love to see a TV show/movie about the transformers about the war against the quintasons, and cybertron before the decepticons and autobots went to war
Love the video! As an archivist I wonder if Optimus ever had to delete certain information that the high council didn’t want getting out, they were definitely corrupt enough to do so, I had no idea about Soundwave actually being a spy before the war! I thought he was just a gladiator! Thank you for making such informative videos!
I thought he was a DJ before the war. I must say I'm disappointed he wasn't. I hope he can be allowed back into society at some point after RID so he can become a DJ. He would make an awesome DJ, plus he's actually a good guy. He's just obsessed with Megatron XD They really should call Megatron so he can have a talk with Soundwave and other loyalist Decepticons and tell them: "I quit the Decepticons. You can all do whatever you want now." Then maybe Soundwave would be like "Alright, anyone need a DJ?" :P
That would be funny! Personally I always thought that after Megatrons betrayal he would team up with Starscream to get revenge for wasting so many years of his life and just leaving it all to die, but I like your version better!
@@starscreamfan288 Yeah, I don't see Soundwave as the kind of bot who seeks revenge. He's very focused on the present and his missions and doesn't care about anything else. I like how you're only in danger with him if you either get in his way of his mission or if you ARE his mission. If you just leave him alone, you'll be fine! I also love how pacifistic Soundwave is in Prime. He only hurts others if that's his mission or if he's ordered to. He never hurt the humans except when Agent Fowler charged him in Hangar E, and he only weakly swept with his tentacle to knock the man out, not to kill him. Soundwave basically never tries to kill anyone in the show, only if his mission is to kill someone, I reckon. At most, he will knock his enemies unconscious and then move on with his mission. Soundwave doesn't seem to enjoy fighting or hurting others, unlike pretty much every other character in the show. Even the Autobots seem to enjoy fighting, maybe even Optimus, even if he doesn't want to feel it. But Soundwave is the most honest and honorable character in the show, in my opinion. He follows orders, focuses on his mission, ignores distractions unless they're getting in the way of his work, doesn't want to hurt or kill anyone, will knock out at worst most of the time, and as soon as Airachnid yielded in their short fight, he left her alone. The only reason he got a bit more violent in RID is probably because he's desperate to get Megatron back so he can get further instructions and to get the Decepticons back together. But even in RID I don't think he got violent with anyone unless they got in his way. I think in terms of alignment, Soundwave is a Lawful Neutral character. He follows the rules even if they're evil, but isn't evil himself, could probably be "good" if he wasn't so obsessed with Megatron. When it comes to redemption for the Decepticons - becoming Autobots or just turning "good" or something like that - Soundwave would either be the easiest or the hardest depending on Megatron. As long as Megatron is alive and with the Decepticons, Soundwave will never join the Autobots or abide to anyone's rules but Megatron's. However, if Megatron dies and Soundwave knows he's dead and doesn't know he lives again, or if Megatron tells Soundwave the Decepticons are over, then Soundwave will probably accept reality right away and maybe even turn to the Autobots. Unless his fierce loyalty is more to the Decepticon cause than Megatron himself, that is - though I'm certain he likes Megatron too. Either way, if Soundwave decided to turn over a new leaf, I don't think he would have had much trouble. Other bots might not even have much against him, or at least no one would be after him. Either people would love him because of his DJ skills, or people would be too afraid of him to mess with him, knowing he's pretty fierce and not to be messed with. I wonder how Soundwave feels about Starscream. Like, if he likes him or dislikes him or doesn't care about him. It says on the wiki that Soundwave acts as a restraint on Starscream - which I actually find really funny. But they seemed to get along fine while Megatron was out.
Rubywing4 I can see that too! He shows a lot of restraint, which I guess is necessary for a spy, and I think it was stated that he was just loyal to Megatron but not necessarily the Decepticon cause, at least that’s how it is in most other continuity’s, he of course supports the Decepticons, but he truly supports Megatron enough to take a vow of silence, for reasons we don’t fully know, but might be because after their fight in the gladiatorial arena Megatron began to respect him, and soundwave did as well, because Soundwave very nearly beat him, I’m sure it’s deeper than that but that’s sadly all we have to work off of, unless there’s more in the books, but if there is it wasn’t mentioned on the wiki, it’s kind of sad to me, because if you study Megatrons tactics, they are quite bad, he does things like send his only medic out onto the battlefield, and doesn’t rescue breakdown, because he got captured once! Even though at that point he might’ve been their best fighter besides dreadwing, along with many other things like obsessing over killing Optimus himself, which is not a good idea, to focus on one enemy in a war, he treats a war like it’s a gladiator match, so Soundwave, being a smart, disciplined, almost ninja like mech, follows Megatron, when he could be doing his own thing, I wished throughout the series he would see Megatron making these bad decisions (In part probably caused by the dark energon) and would join the Autobots, or become a neutral party, like Starscream was for a short period, he had so much character and a lot of it wasn’t really explored, though I guess the mystery is part of his character, as for him and Starscream, Starscream seems to somewhat fear him, which is reasonable seeing that he was able to beat Arachnid with ease, but also respect, he does not hate him like he hates Megatron, and I think he wishes Soundwave wasn’t so loyal so he could have him on his side like Knockout, I would think Soundwave would be annoyed by Starscream, mainly from his countless attempts to overthrow Megatron, but understands his use as a military commander, I have not watched robots in disguise, but would love to one day, I’ve heard bad things about it though, like it didn’t follow primes example very well, what was your opinion on it? also is Soundwave your favorite character? He’s one of mine! After reading your comment I have to agree on him not being angry with Megatron, I can see him being disappointed but coming to peace with it.
@@starscreamfan288 My favorite character is actually Starscream, but Soundwave is one of my favorites too, coz he's really cool and he cares a lot about his Mini-Cons too. And it's so true about Megatron making bad decisions, especially considering he's the leader of their cause. Starscream certainly cares more about their soldiers than Megatron does - he goes out to rescue Breakdown when Megatron tells him to leave him behind, despite the fact that their elite warriors (the named ones) are very few. When you really look at it all, it makes total sense why Starscream thinks he could do better as a leader than Megatron. Starscream didn't see Airachnid getting beaten by Soundwave, he had gone rogue at the time, though he might have heard from Knock Out when he returned, as he's apparently also heard about the Synthetic Energon and Ratchet's rampage, as well as the warship going out of control due to Dark Energon. Robots In Disguise is good but not as good as Prime. It's more lighthearted, and the first season doesn't make much reference to Prime, while the second season draws a few more refs to Prime and becomes a bit more interesting, the third season is short but a lot more interesting and a bit dark (not much, but still) and the fourth and final season becomes more interesting and a bit darker and ominous. Some think it's good, others think it's bad. It has some errors and a few things that don't make sense, but overall it's good. As well as a few major battles against powerful Decepticons, including Soundwave and Starscream.
Soundwave is such a chad He was a Noble Cybertronian, a High Council member, but he found that his position is worthless And Megatron, despite being a slave, his revolutionary took him to the beliefs of many Cybertronians, included Soundwave
I want a TF show that shows us the transformers' lives. For example, soundwave could have been an army general, and have him interact with Ratchet being an on-site medic. Shockwave in this show could be Megatronus's first friend, and they can show Shockwave slowly looking up to Megatronus more and more. Just little things like that.
I think Arcee is one of the Elite Guard which would explain how she knows so much of Ultra Magnus and his role on Cybertron or she was his cadet. Just an opinion DO NOT take it as fact!👾
I find it worth noting that after the death of Tailgate, the very next bot Arcee bonded with was a repaint of him. This probably says something about her character, but I'm too dumb to figure out what. Side-note: You forgot to mention Impactor in this video (he was name-dropped when Bulkhead and Wheeljack were discussing the remnants of the Wreckers). However, I think it's pretty safe to assume that he was a miner like Megatron and Breakdown simply because that seems to be the default backstory for Impactor in most continuities.
Damn, now I want a video about Arcee's character, not sure on what specifically but I'd be interested in a video about her since there aren't that many.
One of the reasons I find Arcee so intriguing is that she's essentially a new character in Prime, a very, very _very_ mysterious new character. Plus she's got robo PTSD and who wouldn't be fascinated by that?
He used to have a smaller body though, as depicted in the WFC games. Don't really remember what his melee weapon is, but it could still be a hammer, so that could work. I like the idea he was some sort of blacksmith tho :P
@@Rubywing4 WFC and FOC are in a separate timeline since you can see that in FOC both Cliffjumper and Jazz were on the Ark. Cliffjumper arrived on Earth much later in Prime and Jazz didn't show up on Earth at all in Prime. I know there are more examples I just used those two as a reference for the timeline differences.
@@dakotamatheson9884 Well yeah, when it comes to the plot the two timelines (games and books/Prime) are different. But when it comes to character designs, some of the models in the games can be how the bots used to look before Prime. Perhaps with the exception of Megatron. But you know. Details.
I always got the classic breakdown paranoia when I read the books, and he only really came out of his shell when the war started and he realized he liked to vent that paranoia with violence
*Sad Trypticon/Ambient Nemesis noises* Lol in all seriousness i am seriously impressed at the lore digging you do for these Q/A and I want you to know I really appreciate it and I hope the Community does too :)
Omfg a valid character that I forgot! Trypticon wasn't really alive until some scientists forced a spark into a space station, creating a titan out of it to protect the store of dark energon
@@emperorkumquat I wonder where they got the T-Cog for him from... If he was just a space station, I mean, and never really alive? Was he a Cybertronian from the beginning or did he start out as just a facility like all other non-living buildings and ship on Cybertron?
Soundwave is a force of nature. Gets on council council disregards the suffering populace leaves council ends up fighting Megatron joins Megatron and probably kicked some serious butt during the war

Airachnid I assumed had something to do with mining, as her abdomen is literally a drill. I always assumed she got her collecting fetish after she left the Decepticons before Prime.
Megatron was a gladiator 😂in the show rachet told the story on Optimus and megatron. And he was always known to be a gladiator. And if anyone went against him he'll flex his strengths and skills on his life in the pits. That's why only Optimus can fight him cuz he'll rip apart anyone and that was proven during the war.
@@naiaracruseno9868 I never knew that. Soundwave and Shockwave has the ability to stand against him. They both have some elite intelligence and can bring a good fight.
There is another theory that starscream was the main commander for a dark enegon exstractor and he supplied megatron with dark enegon that infected cybertron and the extractor was there thousands of years before the war and starscream was the commander of the extractor before the war. Megatron invaded the extractor gaining the ability to control dark enegon and destroyed half of the station forcing starscream to join the deceptions.
The backstory of breakdown: He became the secret ruler of Cybertron but got bored because he made life too easy. He manipulated the war on both sides so no one can win, thus creating endless enjoyment.
Emperor Kumquat, since you said the next video is going to be on how the transformers breathe, could the next one after that be on how the predacons fly??? I am so confused by that... in TFP we can see that their wings are made of a leather like material with small holes or rips in them; how do those wings lift the predacons which weigh so many tons???? btw this video was epic :p
fun fact megaton's original name d-16 is in reference to his g1 toy's japanese designation of d-16 spoilers p.s optimus primes job before archivist could be one of the 13
FUN FACT (FALL OF CYBERTRON GAME SPOILERS): In Fall of Cybertron you get to fight in the same Gladiator Arena where Megatron (or Megatronus back then) had proved himself. Funnily enough, Soundwave's workshop is basically in the Arena's furnace or smelter, most likely a place to dispose of dead Cybertronians. About Airachnid, I can only guess she's one of Shockwave's many experiments with insecticons. In FoC we do get to hear about some of the experiments he made on them, such as creating Kickback, Hardshell, and Bombshell, along with the Bruiser type Insecticon In one of the logs you can listen to, he mentions how Kickback has a very psychopathic personality. Maybe Airachnid also suffered these side effects since lers face it, she is pretty cruel and seems to be almost sadistic. Edit: I gotta read the novels and stop making myself look like a fool.
"Almost" sadistic? She is DEFINITELY sadistic, she enjoys tormenting her prisoners and victims and makes no hesitation in killing others, she has no remorse for others and doesn't regret the things she does and seems to have no empathy whatsoever. Since we don't really know anything about her past other than that she killed Tailgate in front of Arcee, it's not impossible that she was one of Shockwave's experiments, although I doubt she was. Airachnid is never really shown to display any fear either. Most of the time she's faking it, to lure her victims in, like she did with Breakdown. She may get surprised or worried sometimes, but I've never seen her display genuine fear, and she doesn't seem anxious either, which I believe would be something a former experiment would experience. Also, she's not an Insecticon if that's what you're implying. She's most likely part of the Arachnicon race which is mentioned in the Covenant with Dr. Cogwheel as a representative - who, by the way, was also a femme. And we also see an orange redeco of Airachnid in RID on Decepticon Island - another Arachnicon, it seems. The ability to control the Insecticons may be a special ability of Airachnid on her own, or it may be something her race can do, it's not for sure.
@@omegasynth2775 Heh, I haven't actually read the Covenant, Exiles or Retribution, only Exodus, the others are expensive nowadays and I don't have them. I do spend a lot of time on the wiki though, and I read about the Arachnicons, Airachnid and Cogwheel on the wiki as well. The Transformers wiki is the best wiki on the internet, I swear. So big, lots of information, and filled with humor on the images and even in the quotes sections, descriptions and notes.

Hi, Emperor Fun fact: I dunno if you knew this fact, So I'm gonna tell you in case of don't _Back in middle 2010's Hasbro wanted to make a crossover Between it's franchises, that would be a show called Transformers E. Unit, & it would be a direct sequel to TFP with Ratchet on earth as the main character, NOT ONLY THEY WOULD TAKE THE TFP SHOW IN CONSIDERATION, But also the G.I. Joe version would be the Same of the 2010's show: G.I. JOE RENEGADES_ IF THAT SHOW WOULD BE RELEASED THEN WE COULD ADD G.I. JOE RENEGADES(both, TV show & Tie-In Comics) TO THE ALIGNED CONTINUITY (if that thing wasn't enough conveluded already)
Breakdown is the only decepticon that doesn’t have claws for fingers. I also think Arcee was a decepticon at some point because her fingers look faintly like claws.
I get how you would see that arcee would be a cop but just remember that she [on cybertron] was pink red and white. So was ratchet but he had only some pink. But back to arcee. Imagine committing a crime and seeing a pink white and red hover car coming after you. That would kind of be really funny.
I think that Knockout and Arcee from Crystal City, and Breakdown may be from Kaon or somewhere else. Also I think that Breakdown may have been a racer since in war for cybertron he transformed into a cybertronian race car. Edit: Ratchet actually used to be a politician.
Wait, could you explain how Vehicons were created? I watched the video about them being more than just cannon fodder and having feelings, and I really enjoyed it. However, I still could not understand how did they originate. Were they artificially created clones indeed, or what?
