@@filb1324the fact that this was your take on their dynamic is bizarre to me. Obviously there were false pretenses, but they absolutely were both fun and cute, and also deeply caring. I bet if you said this to her as a character the end of the show she’d slap you across the face so hard it would knock some teeth loose.
@@julesking1303 He forces her to stay in a marriage when she was deeply unhappy. How is that cute ? Her husband is a manipulative egoist monster He balckmailed her to forces her to stay in the marriage. What worse thing could he do to convince you he is a horrible and immoral human being? Mayby forcing her to show him affection in public, when she's legitmitly embarrassed to do so, and doesn't want to ? Oh wait, he actualy did that too This man has lot of very toxic behavior. Trying to ease her mind while he is keeping her under his control throw manipulation, forcing, gaslighting, etc If she doesn't see the problem with him blackmailing her, this doesn't means that what he does isn't deeply wrong
@@filb1324 I wonder why on earth your response was deleted. It’s not like it was obviously denigrating the gay man who basically died due to AIDS for wanting a genuine friend in a fabulous woman. At the end of the day, even she admitted that he was the best friend she had, and she very obviously truly cared for him. Your response very much seems like you haven’t watched the show, because their relationship is very complex and fully developed. They’re both shitty to each other, and they had both lied to each other. But at the end of the day, that platonic bond was immensely strong. I don’t understand how someone could watch that last scene and not understood the connection between them and care that existed there. Unless of course, that person was a blatant homophobe, which is legit something that is not at all unexpected in a RU-vid comment section. But I do hope that it’s not happening to him, *DURING PRIDE MONTH NO LESS*
True . How many men scoff even at idea of actually befriending their wives. Leave the fact of actually trying to become friends . Cause friendship between couples is as important or even more than attraction between two.
This is so true!! My ex and I broke up a while ago and at first I was devastated and totally still in love with him. But as weeks past we still kept in touch and send Instagram reels to each other and call once in a while. We’re friends and i’m okay with that! I found that we’re better off friends than as a couple. I’m just grateful that I get to keep someone that I truly care for in my life still even if it’s not romantic 🥹🙏
@@salomeeserol2129 I heard word for word Simone saying Karl was blackmailing her Others people told me that Simone was lying when she said that. As for me I'm not sure anymore now
Yes, this one from the 80’s and the 1960’s Beth Ann’s storyline are the best. I haven’t seen many clips from the modern 2010’s couple’s storyline yet, but I’m sure they’ll turn up eventually. Only the Beth Ann storyline have been shown in clips from multiple YT accounts for the last year or so, until the public showed interest in the 80’s as well, so I bet the modern couple will be featured as well in due time, to make people realize they should watch the entire show because it’s marvelous!❤
I am watching their entire storyline through shorts. I didn't even realize there were other couples until recently. Not nearly as entertaining. These two are so dramatic, charming, and touching.
@@sonablom Trust me, the 1960’s storyline with Beth Ann and her blossoming, secret friendship with her cheating husband’s mistress, which unravells the truth behind the death of her child years prior, is just as (or even more) entertaining and heart breaking as this one. It’s defenitely a show worth watching. There’s also a storyline about a modern couple in the 2010’s who have an open relationship, and one of them invites their lover to live with them, which turns out to be a deadly mistake.
@@tinashe9616I would think it's a horrible situation. Having a husband who would never love romantically, having affair with a teen all of these are f°cked. Why didn't they divorced and stay best friends?
awwww i like karl and simone relationship eventhough simone knw karl is gay they both still very bestfriend and they both support and care with each other ☺️ respect 🥹
Their marriage is just as good ..if not better..than most others.. They’re honest with each other, and except each other’s faults… That’s very rare and hard to do😂
I feel like they are toned down a bit for a newer 2020 audience. Do you feel a lot of women in the 80s looked like line backers? So why does Lucy rock every should pad look? I knew a lot of women who just tore them out. ❤
That's true love. We often mix up love with ❤️🔥. A good marriage is one that is between 2 friends, two people who can have fun together, are different but can still find common ground,
Perfect example of a romantic non-sexual relationship. I learned about the complexity of relationships, gender expressions, sexualities etc. During my gender studies in college. They truly love eachother and are romantic with eachothers, just not sexual. Reminder, sexuality and romance are 2 different things. You can have sexuality in a romantic relationship or none at all, it is still a valid relationship. The idea of intersectionality is what trips people up.
Hardly.. Simone's arc was set in the 80s, Truman Capote was a famous gay BFF to his swans until Answered Prayers, silent movie actor William Haines was a gay BFF with his former co-stars incl. Joan Crawford, costume designer Adrian (who was in a lavender marriage with first ever best actress winner Janet Gaynor, who was rumored to be a lesbian) they stayed together for 20 years until his death in 1969
Explain what is smut within this scene, specifically. Like, I’m not at all saying that this show doesn’t have mature themes, or sex scenes, it fully does. But you’d have to be intentionally obtuse to have watched this show in full and have THAT as your takeaway. I can only assume that you have not seen this show. It’s called Why Women Kill, and I’d recommend it to you, but if you’re the kind of person who watches this scene and thinks “smut” then you’re probably completely incapable of fully understanding the complex plotlines. If you think you could, watch the show in full first, and then respond.
