Who would you most like to see come back for S3? (Besides Azi and Crowley)
@DarkBandicoot
@DarkBandicoot 9 месяцев назад
I think Nina and Maggie will end up returning, since they're literally across the road/next door to the bookshop, where Muriel is currently residing and Crowley may or may not (we don't know yet) also reside/visit. It's not like he has a lot of other places to go to and he probably cares enough that he wouldn't want Muriel selling/giving away any books, and it's like a second home to him. Nina and Maggie, in the grand scheme of things, aren't important characters, but they may help in giving Crowley a good kick up the butt to stop him from being difficult and wallowing so much. S1's characters may return, but it's hard to say right now. They served their purpose in s1 and so didn't need to be present in s2. Adam lost his power, or so it was said, unless he can harness it again. Anathema is still a witch, so she could serve useful too. Sandalphon and Hastur would be nice returns, since they were absent this season.

I would like to see Hastur and Ligur return. Ligur should have returned to life since he died the day Adam basically reset. The telemarketers killed by Hastur and all the people on the M25 should have too, I'm sure. Just a little cameo where we see he's alive would be nice. I wouldn't mind seeing Adam and the Them, but it isn't necessarily necessary. Anathema would be cool. I'd like to see Muriel dealing with Shax if she stays on as representative in England or whatever and doesn't get the promotion after all. Eric the Disposable Demon would be fun. And maybe Brielzebub (aka Ineffable Bureaucracy aka boxfly) get roped in to helping somehow.

I think Gabriel's plan was to save his memory in the fly so he doesn't forget Beelzebub. Then go down to them. But since he removed his memories, he got confused and didn't reach hell. I suspect by sheer muscle memory went and found Aziraphale.

Re: the halo coming back, Aziraphale indicates that it was a tactic, albeit a seriously consequential one, used in the Great War between Heaven and Hell, and nothing is mentioned of angels losing status or * not * getting their halos back if they did that in the War. So Aziraphale may get it back if it's part of his angelic being, but if it's dependent on Heaven's approval, then he may not, because they apparently disapprove of him in general, or if he secretly opposes them and they suspect or find that out.

Gabriel in that one meeting: Well, I guess I'm going to fall and be sent to Hell as a demon. I accept my fate. Sometimes an angel just has to say-- Metatron: No, you're not falling. We're going to demote you below Muriel and erase your memories. Gabriel: Oh, [bleep]. Okay, let me go to my office for a minute so I can sneak out of here and take the elevator to Hell. (I think hiding the memories was just a failsafe in case they got him before he could leave, although there is a question how that would work. Would the fly eventually have returned to Beelzebub?) Meanwhile, Beelzebub (as we see when they summon Crowley to Hell) has gotten a second throne in Hell next to theirs. Is also quite frantic to find Gabriel. He was supposed to be there by now. Getting the former Supreme Archangel is kind of a coupe for Hell, so they didn't plan to run away. Gabriel was going to join Beelzebub in Hell. I think Beelzebub and Gabriel are able to go off together because they have not become much less selfish at all. They don't care what happens to the Earth or humans; they just want to be together, wherever. Aziraphale and Crowley can't really do that. (Crowley isn't going to want the Earth and humanity to end any more than Aziraphale.) [Also, it's generally supporting characters who are able to get together before main characters, but that's the Doylean explanation.] I don't think Gabriel and Beelzebub, despite meeting in various Earth locations, ever made a connection with the Earth or humans. They order drinks and crisps, but don't drink them or eat them. They don't form any other relationships (and, yes, friendships do matter, even if they are not the primary relationship for everyone). They have formed exactly one connection. (Gabriel might want to have hot chocolate now, but aside from that.)

They didn't choose to change the actress for Beelzebub. They wanted Anna Maxwell Martin to come back, but she was booked for the time they were filming season 2. She's actually quite pretty out of her Beelzebub gear. The idea for Beelzebub and Gabriel as a couple seems to have come about because of their chemistry during the airfield scene also. The show wanted her back. I think Shelley Conn (who had previously played Lady Mary Sharma on _Bridgerton,_ by the way) was great in the role too, since there had to be a switch. I would kind of love for both actresses to be in season 3, just randomly switching, although you're right that the G/B might never return at all. Or they might bring back Anathema or Adam, who knows.

I do think Crowley and Aziraphale have romantic love, but they also have a deep friendship with each other, and their love isn't just looking at the other person and having emotions, although we see that on their faces. It's also their desire to do things for each other. This is more obvious with Crowley's "rescues" of Aziraphale. Also, in the first season, we see other kinds of love. I would say that all the different love stories and people coming together are the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle coming together, and that that is what saves the world: love. We see the love of Adam and his friends for each other, and Adam and his dog for each other. It is that love and those loves that save Adam. That was a pretty big plot point.

Well, the box wasn't empty when Aziraphale looked in it originally and said it was empty. If you zoom in, you can see the fly. But he didn't think the fly was anything.

I would say that Beelz had no idea where Gabriel was because she tried to bribe Crowley into telling them where he was. I suspect Gabriel went to Aziraphale by accident because he lost his memory and the elevator comes out near Aziraphales shop, a place he's visited before so he went to what looked familiar. When Gabriel was on trial he was hoping they would send him to hell, he didn't expect them to instead try and wipe his memory and demote him. Both sides seem very dumb/set in their ways with little room for imagination. (Crowley has been mentioned as an outlier by God as being unique among demons for having an imagination) they seem to just follow 'the great plan' and anyone who doesn't is rejected, very cult like behaviour. God seems to be acting as an observer, they set the dominos up and flicked the first one, after that they just watch, there's possibility they might have intervened with the baby switch but i think it is clear they are not talking to anyone at the moment. I think even the Metatron hasn't spoke to them. I just had a thought, what if Crowley was the original Lucifer and there was a bait and switch? His memories were erased and replaced like they planned with Gabriel. Now there's someone else being Satan. It would keep Crowley out of trouble. In the first episode, as an angel, he doesn't give his name and says he is going to ask questions, yet in series 1, he says he 'just ran into lucifer and the guys'. He was also the snake in the garden of Eden, he is either more powerful than he realises or it was because he combined his powers with aziraphale (which might be the reason the metatron is trying to split them up). Plus, he is unique by having an imagination that other demons don't, which is more of a leader quality. The other thing is we keep hearing the 'miracle music' at the end, some people think the metatron used miracles to influence Aziraphale into going back with him.

Yes! Gabriel expected to fall and be reunited with Beez when he said "Nah" to the Second Coming. When Heaven said he was going to have his memories wiped and be demoted he didn't have time to make a plan, he had to save his memories and get out of Heaven FAST!

This is the first explanation I have seen for the popular theory of Crowley being Lucifer since he mentions Lucifer in the first season and we see Lucifer or Satan (and Gaiman says they are the same thing). If Crowley has false memories, it would be possible. Now, I don't think this is going to happen, but I give you credit for the idea.
@ericamacs3875
@ericamacs3875 9 месяцев назад
I think Crowley knows who he was before. Hence the knowing passwords in Heaven. And he knows what powers he has, he knows he can stop time. I dunno who he is, but I think he's a kinder person than Lucifer..
@HuntingViolets
@HuntingViolets 9 месяцев назад
@@ericamacs3875 I agree. I'm not really into the memory-loss and Lucifer theories, but the OP used one to explain the other, which was interesting, even if I don't think it's the case. Gaiman has been pretty unequivocal about Crowley not being Lucifer. I actually would love it if Crowley isn't some super-special angel but, instead, just one of Heaven's engineers or IT people who knows what's going on everywhere. I'm not saying he was the lowest angel category, but maybe not that outrageously powerful, since a lot of his power seems to come into play around Aziraphale. He made a pocket in time when Aziraphale threatened to not speak to him again, he drove the flaming Bentley because he had to get to Aziraphale, and he and Aziraphale did the 25-lazeri miracle together with out realizing how powerful it was (something he should have been able to control if he'd had experience with that).

In the last video, I'm not sure if one of my comments got deleted because of RU-vid (because this website works SO well!) or if I said too much. I'm worried I may have said too much but felt it was all fine, but if not, I apologize and won't speak of it again unless asked, and repeat it here if that's the case. The info I gave was public information surrounding s3, theories, and just pointing out info we already know. Gabriel going to Aziraphale was probably instinctual, since being an angel is not something learned, but something you just ARE. Aziraphale's bookshop is protected with angelic power, and it's also a place of deep love. Gabriel was probably drawn to it like "that place feels safe, I should go there". He also (somehow, don't know how!) remembered where his memory was, despite not having his memory, like a little piece was left over or something. May have also been a reason why he went to Az. Because of all this, I don't think he had much of a plan. There was really no time and the main thing was to just get away with his memory on his person, open the fly, remember, meet up with Bee on Earth, then run away. That was probably the plan really, without having a strict plan. It would probably have been simple to pull off had someone, ANYONE, flipped the box over to see the message (just think, this season existed because no one thought to turn the box over, but that's not a complaint, but it's just a silly thing to think about in terms of how much drama would have been saved for everyone.) I feel Gabriel and Bee will come back to help, but who knows. I'd like a redemption arc for Gabriel, honestly. He's learned more of Earth, has broken his chains of Heaven, found love... he's evolving, changing, already has in fact! It's a glimpse into the future that if the Supreme Archangel, who has been in that position probably since the beginning, or close to, can become their own person, then so can any angel, and demon! Az and Crowley are also proof of that, and Muriel seems to be heading in that direction too. Honestly, I hope the other main angels and demons (Michael, Furfur, etc) break from their chains too and learn about humanity, but that's just me. A hang out? Sounds fun! How/where would that take place? I'd potentially be down!

@@UnofficiallyOpinionatedRnR I thought it might've been on RU-vid's end, but wasn't sure. I hear comments sometimes get deleted for no reason. Well, the things I said were Gabriel hinting at the Second Coming in ep3 after the rain scene. He talks of a tempest coming and the dead leaving their graves, so we know it'll be action packed and very emotional. I had more typed out like last time, but I'm going to hold off actually, just in case you don't want to hear it (i.e confirmed news), but if you do, I (or the GO community in general) can save it for the live stream. :)

I think there are stories about friendship, although people usually want to ship the characters together as a couple in those too. Some people think Aziraphale and Crowley are friends only (I think "just" friends is a bit dismissive) in the first season, but clearly the most important person for each other, regardless. But there are also asexual romantic relationships (and many asexual people do have sex but many others are what is called "sex-repulsed") and there are asexual aromantic people. Honestly, there are a lot of couples on shows where I would have been fine with their just staying friends. There is a lot of flirting going on with Aziraphale and Crowley even in the first season.

I do keep wondering how Jesus will be portrayed in this. Because I do think one way of preventing it would be to persuade Jesus that life on earth is worth saving. But not sure I can see them using the character a lot in S3 because it would be really tricky. I wonder what happens to the halo, I assume it regenerates. I think Maggie and Nina will be in S3, if the bookshop is in it, even if just in smaller roles. I think Miranda Richardson will stay on as Shax.. Anna Maxwell Martin who played Beelzebub in the first series is a more famous actress, and very beautiful! She was just busy so couldn't do S2.

Gabriel places his memory in the fly box thinking about returning to Belshebub, but when he places his memory there he "loses" il, the words that the matchbox has and that Neil highlights in fire, refer to S1 E6 the trial of Crowley and Aziraphel 🤭 you have to see it to understand, and that is why it is the only thing he keeps in his memory, he sees the image of what it says on the matchbox and goes to the bookshop to Aziraphael 😆🤭😄 😆🤭😄

Platonic as you say, aka deep friendship, familiar (family related), romantic, sexual, aesthetic even! ('oh wow this looks pretty... it can be for a person or not as you can imagine, but ace people often at the beginning mistake it for sexual attraction since everyone seems to have it lmao) And many types of relationships too, including queerplatonic aka qpr for short aka "fuck this forced classification, we will discuss what we want and don't want in our relationship and that's that, mix and match whatever you want"

Final 15 there Aziraphel is lying all of it, and also is a repetition of the magic trick I suggest you, if you like to slow, very, very much so you can see The silent conversation that Aziraphale (concerned) tries to have with Crowley and fails, because Crowley is overwhelmed by: The war in the bookshop, Gabriel's trial, the knowledge that Aziraphale is "alone" in the bookshop (although he fully trusts his angel), the conversation with Maggie and Nina and his recognition of how much he loves Aziraphale, the possibility of being together and seeing what cannot be, the supposed good news that Aziraphale accepted the position that was offered to him in Heaven, the evil that he knows that heaven and hell have towards them because both headquarters did not forgive them and were going to exterminate them; the fact that they are still in suspense after S1, that he knows that the second coming is in process (that implies that the demons will remain for all eternity burning in the sulfur pools of hell, and that all humans will be annihilated) Because of all the above he cannot understand what Aziraphale is trying to tell him, I invite you to see this. But one thing that is very very important is that he stays at the car saying to him that he will honour "The Agreement" Truly i suggest you to WhatsApp watch Sendarya's video "apology dance" And to read and watch these www.reddit.com/r/goodomens/comments/16g8161/what_does_he_say_after_the_kiss/ www.reddit.com/r/goodomens/comments/16jdgeu/a_secret_message_after_the_kiss/

The teeth and ugly makeup being toned down is true of any demon when they're on Earth. Furfur's a good example of that, between how he looks while talking to the Nazis in Hell vs when he comes up to the magic show, and at the end. Shax's teeth are different below and up top. Even Beelzebub in s1 looks different in Hell than they do while on Earth right before the showdown with Satan. There are probably more examples, but it definitely isn't exclusive to this actor. It's just a thing that some of the demons clean up well while on Earth lol.
