Everyone is getting so mad but what Brooke said actually makes A LOT of sense. Now I'm a HUGE MJ fan, but I'm not blind to his personal faults. Brooke was exposed to too much too early like Michael, but not to the same extreme sense. I'm sure she still played with friends and got to have some sense of a childhood. Michael never ONCE had any sense of normalcy from his formative years, which made him imbalanced as an adult, and with the amount of fame ha amassed, it was purely UNSAFE for him to try integrating into normal society because he'd get mauled by his fans wherever he went. Nevermind the whole trust thing. So it would have probably been too difficult for her to stay with him because they had a few fundamental differences.

MJ was isolated since childhood because he was treated like a precious product to be protected, so he was more innocent than most.. and naive about the outside world.. though he was a highly intelligent genius. He had a Narcissistic father because of which he had trouble recognising abusive people, or drawing firm boundaries & had a hard time saying no to others.. he was vulnerable to be taken advantage of by other Narcissists who wanted his money & fame for themselves even if they destroyed him for it.. like the greedy parents & friends, managers & media. I just saw Brooke Shields on the Today Show, which I usually don't watch unless Dylan Dreyer's on, and she looked terrific. After all these years, she still looks stunning. And I don't know what Michael Jackson was thinking before he died, years ago, but he should put a ring on her a long time ago, again years ago obviously, compared to what he settled down with through the years.

Don’t get me wrong she seems lovely and I’m sure she really cared about him. I believe most of what she said, he seemed to suffer from Peter Pan syndrome for sure. BUT her specific point about her getting married that he didn’t “understand” makes little to no sense to me since MJ got married before she did and even after the divorce was on and off with Lisa. I mean he may have been annoyed that Brooke was marrying someone else but I don’t think he couldn’t understand the concept of her wanting to get married. He was childlike but not to the extent that he didn’t get the concepts of marriage or having a family. Must have been difficult being married to someone so emotionally traumatized for sure but, as childlike as he could be, it didn’t prevent him from being a husband (for a little while), a step dad and a father. He specifically stated that he liked being with Lisa because she didn’t treat him like some silly child.

Michael Jackson probably had high functioning Autism/Asperger's which by definition are developmental disorders giving you in some cases massive genius like talent and intelligence but make you socially awkward as you can not relate to "normal" people appropriately. The way Michael composed music, spoke, adored other people probably on the spectrum like Michelangelo, his child like behavior, sensitivity, Neverland, feeling like Peter Pan, love for animals and children can all be explained by the above mentioned conditions. I can totally relate to him and understand his thinking patterns. People expected Michael to grow up and act like an adult while he clearly could NOT due to the conditions.
