Totally! Originality isn’t the end goal, authenticity and finesse *is*. Executing your stories, however cliche they are, in YOUR own style automatically distinguishes it from those around you. The cliche trope of ‘only one bed’, for example, was used in the later seasons of Bojack Horseman, a show remarked as insightful and highbrow - which you’d never associate with Oscar Nominee television lol.
