for our indians friends reading this thank you for being a good tourist here in our country. i live in a place with a lot of indians studying in a university and i notice how polite indians in public places. if you guys experience any discrimination towards my own race i apologize for it.

Shi.t exists everywhere but I have seen race based discrimination doesn't exist in India or Filipines at someone might name call 😂😂 but we do that to our own family members friends so doesn't really have to do with race .

The people from the Indian subcontinent have a long history with us, they gave us Hinduism and Buddhism despite those two philosophies being superceded by Abrahamic religions, we have retained many influences from them. They are always welcome, I have Filipino Indian friends and their family and friendship values are similar to us so it's almost a seamless interaction.

One of my favorite tourist here are Indians, very respectful and they actually learn our country, culture and especially our language. Most of the Indian-Filipino that I've meet on the internet and real life speak fluent Filipino. Whenever I see an Indian in the most isolated islands where it's not a touristy area, it makes my heart happy that they're living their life here in the Philippines like a normal Filipinos do.

Indians, Koreans and other Asians countries who now lives in the Philippines except the CHINESE who engaged in drug dealings/drug lords, shabu producers, illegal gambling, hoarders and other illegal activities, you name it. They are the worst offenders in the Philippines. We should treat them differently not being nice to them.

Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia have a lot more in common with our Indian culture, tradition and values than China, Japan or South Korea. That's why I like these countries a lot more than others. Indians always have huge respect for any country that stays true to its roots and its culture as opposed to countries that are westernising day by day. Which is why we like countries from Africa and SEA. PS: the girls are very very very cute in South East Asia.🥰

The worse people we have in the Philippines are Chinese, 100% true, they engaged in almost all illegal activities like shipping drugs to our country, they produce drugs for distribution to our people, they engaged in kidnappings, killings and illegal gambling. They should be ban from our country. They are really bad people, even in America because of their aggressive behavior they are beaten up and discriminated. I’m sure anywhere they go they have problems with them.

Not decades but centuries. The first official record of Indians settling in the Philippines was during the British Invasion of Manila of 1762 where they used Sepoy armies. Eventually when the British withdrew from the Philippines the Indian Sepoys mutinied and chose to stay in the Philippines. Alot converted to the main religion of the Philippines and eventually absorbed in with the filipino culture. Indian mangos were brought to the Philippines by Indian migrants and traders even before Spanish times beyond recorded history, so we could only theorize anything that was going on before then.

The reason why Filipinas are easier to talk to and approach compared to Indians is because there is not much social segregation or social division in the Philippines. Filipinos are also naturally friendly. You can talk to almost everyone. I remember a travel advice I got when visiting India is to not smile at strangers cause they may see that as flirting. I was so shocked at that advice because in the Philippines, people are smiley. You can smile and be friendly to people including the opposite sex. It is not necessarily flirting lol. So my advice to some Indian men or men from other conservative cultures (like the muslim countries) if a Filipina smiles at you or talk to you, it doesn't necessarily means she likes you. It's just Filipinos' nature to be friendly and smiley.

@6:26 I was surprised to learn about a family from our hometown (in Southwestern Philippines) who turned out to be 100% Indian. They not only sounded Filipino but also integrated seamlessly into our community. It was especially interesting to discover one of their daughters became my schoolmate, and I found her as having atypical charming features, until it just clicked after I learned about their Indian heritage. You see, some Pinoys have unique features here and there, be it being Chinito, mestiso, mala-Arabo, etc.😅 I later found out that their great-grandfather was a businessma who ventured here in the Philippines. It's truly fascinating how they've become an integral part of our community, and I initially thought they were just a typical Filipino family.

I'm from Cebu and I thank Indians for bringing more vegetarian food. I try to eat less meat and sometimes if I want more plant based meals with more flavor, I always hit the nearest Indian restaurant here. Also, I think Indians are one of the unproblematic (most of the time as there are always some bad apples) foreigners in the Philippines.

indians actually immerse themselves and embrace filipino culture. i grew up having indian/pakistan classmates and theyre always well off in life and there families mostly own major business in our town. also indians have been constantly trading with filipinos even before the spaniards came. theyre so common in the philippines that i dont consider them as foreigners.

Since 2013, I have been a vegetarian living in the Philippines. Whenever I return from traveling abroad, I always prioritize healthier food choices. However, I strongly disagree with the notion that it is difficult to find vegetarian options in my country. Even small kitchenettes and eateries found along the roads sell vegetarian food. Moreover, fancy restaurants often offer a wide range of vegetarian dishes. I am unsure where you obtained the idea that finding vegetarian food is difficult in the Philippines. In fact, even popular malls like SM have vegetarian options in their foodcourts, as per my personal experience.
@Livingabroadalex
@Livingabroadalex Год назад
Everything you said is true. However I have to agree. The Philippines is the least vegetarian friendly country from all the countries visited. Not saying there aren't any options, however when comparing to other nations, I agree with them.

I traveled to the Philippines 🇵🇭 as recent as last year, 2022. That is more of a meat 🍖 eating nation. Yet, I can easily go vegetarian there, even in the rural areas. I ate at Chinese 🍜 restaurants and asked for modifications. The server approved 👌 I even cooked vegetarian 🍎 🥕 dishes from scratch there. 😋 Example. Curry 🍛, pancit 🍜, vegan halo halo 🍨 .

From carinderia to high-end restaurants, there are many veggie dishes you can order. And if you cook at home, specially, it is not hard to be a vegetarian here. All public markets and grocers sell so many different types of vegetables that you can cook according to your taste. From north to south, there is an abundance of locally grown vegetables. And in supermarkets, they even sell imported ones
@TheAspiringCentenarian
@TheAspiringCentenarian Год назад
In terms of food options in karenderia and others, veggies are easily available, I agree with that, but a strict vegan would still have qualms, because we Pinoys still put sahog to our gulay. So I understand their sentiments, since I tried being a strict vegan once, pre-pandemic. We Pinoys just love our meaty sahogs. That's the culprit really 😅

I am Indian. I give you reason why. Indian medical Colleges have only certain capacity. Out of capacity students can't enter or admission in college. So people go out to study medicine and also cost of studying medicine without doing entrance exam in India will be higher cost. So reducing the cost most Indian chose Ukraine, Russia, Phillipines as topmost medical studies.
