A look into the life a a regular NHS District or community nurse. I take you through some of the things we do in the community as district nurses in the NHS Uk and answer some of your pressing questions about District nursing
I’m so sorry for your loss Danny. Just seeing your comment. How’re you doing, I hope you’re doing well. I hate losing my patient as we build a relationship with them because we see them all the time. Thank you so much for appreciating us and what we do. It’s an honour especially being able to be part of someone’s life at their last days and moments and sharing that moment with their families. THANK YOU Danny, your comment means so much to me❤️❤️
@@AkuaAgyemang thanks for the kind words, I do appreciate what you dedicated people do, I was alone caring for my mom as my one brother was stuck abroad and the other a weak man who doesn't seem to care. I adored my mom and i knew I could only carry on myself if I could hold my head high and know that I was a proper son who did right by his mom. District nurses helped me so much and I got big love and respect for them.
I enjoyed this video as much as the previous one. Thank you so much for answering all the questions and sharing your day with us. Keep up with your hard work.
Very informative video. It’s nice to see what you go through on a day to day. Now I understand why my mum is always tired when she came back from her shifts!
You are doing soo well sis being a nurse and a district nurse of that matter not easy at all. But one can tell how much you love your job which is a +, well done 👏🏼
I really enjoyed watching this...healthcare has n will always be my first love, I'm into laboratory science...keep making the community better...much love sister
Tha a so much Jes. Healthcare is my heart which surprisingly, wasn’t anything I wanted to do growing up. It just met me along the way. My sis was a lab technician before she transitioned to nursing 😃
Wow! Just stumbled on ur video. 1st time seeing an overseas Ghanaian *community nurse* and I'm so excited cos I'm a community nurse here in Gh and I really wanna relocate to UK and continue in that specialty. Thank you for your video I wish you all the best.
Hey girl, 😀😀 I don’t know why I’m assuming you’re a girl. Thanks so much for your lovely comment. Community nursing is amazing. I hope your dreams do come true❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
It’s been a while indeed.Your car is fully packed and thanks for sharing your routine and what you do as a district Nurse and your routine.Well explained and learn how to drive very important👍🏾
Thankyou for making these videos. I am just about to qualify as a nurse and I have been a hca on the wards for eight years. I was pressured into accepting a job on a medical assessment ward because I'm newly qualified but I really want to go down the community rout, I enjoy the clinical skills side of nursing and want a nicer work-life balance. I have an interview in 3 weeks for the community post. wish me luck
Hi Jake, well done on qualifying. I’m sure it hasn’t been an easy road but you made it. When I wanted to go into the community right after qualifying, I had lot of people telling me to go on the ward for some experience first but I said no. I knew the ward wasn’t for me so didn’t want to waste my time there. Glad I made that decision because I have more skills that those that are on the ward. You’ll do great in your interview I’m sure. Let me know how it goes so we celebrate 👌🏽❤️❤️
Congratulations Fayemi. I've got an interview for a Community Staff Nurse role slated for next week. Do you mind talking about your interview questions? Thank you in anticipation 😊
@@preciousatausi3208 it’s been a while though but I’ll try to remember. 1. Why do you want to be a community nurse 2. What makes up a good team 3. What do you do as a good team player 4. What qualities are you going to add to our team That’s what I can remember right now as I did it in May
Such a busy day for you. Totally understand why your were filming in the car, confidentiality is everything and l won't want them to file a lawsuit against you.😊😊😊
Great video and very helpful❤️I have some questions, the process of becoming a district nurse in UK is the same like for most nursing application in terms of OSCE, IELTS, accomodation while on training and are visas provided by the agency?
Hi, thanks a lot. Yes, you have a mileage form that you log all all visits using post codes and you gets paid at the end of the month. It is your responsibility to make sure it’s done or you don’t get paid❤️❤️
Thanks so much Esther 🥰🥰🥰. Yes the pay is the same, just different from trust to trust and whether you’re in London or outside because you earn a bit more in London.
Just curious I have district nurses for my permanent catheter I’m only 27 and there brilliant☺️ what type of job do you like doing in your role of a district nurse e.g catheters, insulin etc?
That’s very lovely to know, yes district nurses are amazing. I really do enjoy everything I do actually, the only thing is some of them can be sometimes straining on our back especially when we have to bend a lot
You can apply directly through the Trust or sometimes through agencies. Just search community nurse jobs in the UK on google. Lots will come up then read on how to apply for the role
Hi Sis, I am a Cath lab Nurse looking to join the community nursing team due to child care. Please may I know the hours and is it possible to do only night. You also mentioned doing three days a week, how many hours will that be? Thank you
Not at all. We have mental health nurses who deal with those. We’re adults nurses who deal with only sane adult patients. We can have dementia patients but they’re not mentally challenged at all. It’s quite safe in district nursing. We go in twos if we think it’s not safe or feel threatened. Again, you can refuse to see someone if you feel you’re not safe around that person or ask that another person goes with you
Hi. Sister. I am newly qualified nurse in the UK. Is it okay to work in community nursing if I have the plan to have a child in a year? As this job involves a lot of bend and drive, is it safe to do so during pregnancy?
Hi Akua, how are you? It’s been a while you posted a video and I am a little worried because I have not heard from you. I hope all is well and you are fine . Please reply my message when you see it so I know you are fine . I have no other way to reach you that is why I am messaging you here .God be with you.
I think it depends on the employer. It’ll be best to email them and they’ll let you know how you can apply or if you can apply. Check their website for how to contact them and email and I’m sure they’ll be happy to help. ❤️
Good morning, I'm still having problem finding you on Instagram and Facebook. Please would it be okay to describe what you are wearing on your profile? please🙏 .
