@@TheInspiringSchoolCounselorhi sorry I needed to reach out to any councillor to get some advice for my friend, so she's currently living in an abusive home with her sister and mom both drugs and alcoholics, her dad passed away when she was very young and down want to get help because she doesn't know that what is happening to her isn't normal, I need some advice for her and what to do(im Irish btw in case that impacts anything)
@yourlittlesecret7575 it’s going well. I still love what I do and I love that each day isn’t the same routine. You will love it! I say as long as you have an administrator that understands your role and protects it, faculty and staff that’s willing to work with you, and you enjoy working with the school level your hired in, you will enjoy it that much more❤️
wow u sound like someone whos had it easy. i tried to commit in 6th grade and had been thinking about it since 3rd. just because they are young doesnt mean they dont have shit going on and have feelings
What do I do when the school has failed at executing proper suicide prevention protocol with my 8 year old daughter, who failed to call me for two hours and then after the counselor saw that I was upset with her not properly doing her job she then got off the phone with me and scheduled a plan to meet with my child the next day while they refused all of my calls and the counselor lied about even being in the building so she didn’t have to talk to me, and when I finally went to go pick my child up from the school I found out that the counselor was intentionally refusing to speak to me and the principal was doing the best they could to push me out the door. Out last interaction ended with the schools TWO principals hanging up on me
Hello, I wanted to ask when you say you had to teach on diversity, can you elaborate specifically what that entangled. I am thinking of being a school counselor. Thank you.
Thank you for your question. It was a lesson on how everyone is different. We come from different families, different places in the world, we like different things and no matter how different we are we all should be treated with respect. We also discussed how people around the world are similar.
@@TheInspiringSchoolCounselor okay... I am a Sociology major and that sounds familiar. Does that entangle speaking on same sex relationships specifically, and if so how is it worded for children so young to grasp? What age do school counselors teach that in if so? Thank you for kindly responding !
Another great question, so I dont speak on same sex relationships whenever I cover this topic. I actually follow a PowerPoint that helps guide and leads the topic which makes it easier to focus on the surface of the lesson if that makes sense.
@@TheInspiringSchoolCounselorNice!!! I want to be a school counselor I'm going to school for this or either I'ma try to be a firefighter or get into real estate right now I do security work I want to step away from that and try other things
Issues. Bit rude coming for a job that sections kids. I have a question. That happened to some ppl. How would u feel if it happened to u. Having a label that ur a problem kid. Teachers talking bad. Think again
She's talking about ELEMENTARY school aged children/little kids! This is the result of moral breakdown/breakdown of the traditional family/and a culture that has turn it's back on God, rejecting His commands. The children are the ones who suffer the most. 😞
