eating lunch on the fire line. This summer has been a busy one. I've been working and playing and traveling. I hope to get a few more videos up this week and catch up with all the slacking I've been doing.
I used to save everything that could be saved with out going bad for my kids. Everytime i got home, I always had snacks for them. Miss the smell of smoke. Stay safe out there!
The funny irony being the spicy peanuts had fire as part of the packaging and your a firefighter, XD, but jokes aside, God and Jesus bless you my friend, and thanks for your service to your community
we had 2 things for lunch... sandwich or mre. i ate so many damn sandwiches and mres in 6 years. I barely eat sandwiches these days becaise of it. But the job was a BLAST!
I loved the two foot burritos.. wrap them in tin foil, stuff them in a stump hole, and flag it so no one puts the hole out, and you have an awesome lunch..
I was volunteering on hot spots this last week and was joking with the guys saying shit we just need some tinfoil and we could make some good dinner. Funny to see that folks out there actually do it
I have questions for wild land firefighters. Wondering if you can help? I worked for TMZ and had a press pass covering a fire in Malibu about 10 years ago. I wasn't even out of my car much and my eyes started burning and it was getting hard to breathe. Do your eyes hurt and lungs burn? Also not as baffling but how are your hands so clean? Are wildland firefighters used to having dirt in their mouths so uncleanliness can't be a phobia if you want the job? Bravest men out there. So much respect for the hard work it takes. I know I could never do it.
Can someone with food allergies or sensitivities to certain Foods be a wildland firefighter? I’m strongly considering about becoming wildland fire fighter but I have pretty bad issues with certain foods....
mario sarabia the best tip is to be in the best shape possible. This helps a lot. If you have time you can work yourself into it more easily. This will definitely be good on your feet because at first it's hell. Good luck 👍
Mario Sarabia honestly the pack test isn’t too bad, the test in it is just seeing how you handle the shin splints and just don’t stop. After that just started hiking and running as much as possible. Building muscle like working out arms and chest and all that will only slow you down, try building up cardio as much as you can. Hope this helps and I hope all is well.
I tried a “veggie” lunch once just cuz I got tired of eating the same sandwiches for a week so I grabbed me a “veggie” lunch…. Never tried a tofu burrito but I know what I will never eat again 😂
fucking IA lunches... when i first started as a type 2 IA we got stuff that was already expired. and we chopped line with hot shot 1 day and the next day chopped line with prison crews. type 1 IA was fun as funk but more spike camps and MREs that werent god damn sandwiches
If you don’t care, why did you click on the video. Most people are probably just entering their career as a wildland firefighter and are generally curious what it’s like
