it is a giant file that houses the regulatory documents, important documents and most of the documents of the clinical study. These files are hundreds of gigabytes in size and often terabytes.
Is CTA a lower rank than CRA? I know that CTA is office based job, not like CRA job where extensive travel is needed. I saw many people working as a CTA for years without changing their post. I don't understand. Is CRA the only way up people can move into this field if someone just like to be office based?

Hi, Thanks for the video. Would you recommend one investing in a clinical research course before applying for a Clinical Trial Assistant position (In this case coming from a background in Science/Biochemistry/Cell Biology Research at a Masters level)?
Thalia Rebelo thanks for the comment. ABSOLUTELY NOT, this is experience based industry I would reccomend getting experience first can get education later, often times paid for by your company. Education does not mean much in the industry experience only. I will make a video about this

Thalia Rebelo that’s exactly right. As long as you have a bachelors degree you are good to go in this industry. Focus on getting experience and clinical research skills.

I would like to eventually become a CRA outside India. But if I want to work outside India would you suggest that i join as a CRC in India gain the experience and try later or directly apply Abroad?
Can you transition from being a Project Coordinator to a Clinical Trial Associate? A lot of my job is working on trackers doing minutes, etc as you said. I was wondering if those skills can be transferred over to a CTA role. Also, what is the difference between working as a CTA for a sponsor company and a CRO?
Yes you can. A big difference, sponsor is better to work at all around. You don’t have to find ways to fill your time with “billable” hours or do stupid time sheets.
@Elite Clinical Research Thanks for the info. My background is filing and reconciliation of TMFs, updating trackers, and taking minutes and agendas. I interviewed to be a CTA twice and got rejected both times because I never created ISF binders for SIV and didn't know the difference between Expected and Essential docs. I only filed and reviewed them. Not sure if my skills would transfer. Is CTA a generic term where the responsibilities vary from company to company?
@@Royal_G80 yes, it’s transferable skills. They were just being nitpicky creating ISF binders is not that hard, you could have said you have done that a couple times.
Depends on the company, some times it’s a position at the site level like a study coordinator or a study coordinator assistant, and sometimes it is the same position.
Hi Elite, very functional channel. I have bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. I`d like to work in clinical research. Could you give me any advice about suitable positions according to me. I`m working as medical representative for now
there is some overlap in responsibilities, but an in house cra will conduct actual phone visits with sites and collect documents and have a stronger relationship with the study coordinator. CTA wont do these visits, they may collect documents and send documents to the sites.
