Peter is unusual in that he's been around for a "while" on the ink-stained-wretch beat and he's a REALLY great writer. I'm amazed how articulate and confident he is behind the mike. He's a star in an overwhelmingly "Locked On" menu of dimwits drooling on microphones.

The way Im approaching this is, what guy in the 1st round can improve this team the absolute most? The answer is trading up for Quinyon Mitchell and heres why: 1) Premium position 2) Position of need 3) Freak athlete (4.33 speed) 4) Scheme fit (dominated senior bowl with press man) 5) Gives them best 1-2 punch at corner in the nfl

I agree that Quinyon Mitchell would be a huge upgrade to the Packers Defense. However, I don't see how the Pack are going to be able to get him. He's never going to fall to pick 25. To have a legitimate shot at him we would likely have to trade up with the Jets or Vikes at Pick 10 or 11. Denver is very high on Mitchell and they are projected to select him with Pick 12. Vikes are probably not trading with us as they desparately need a QB and are our division rivals. The Jets would require us to give them major draft capital to move up to their 10th Pick. We would have to give them picks 25 and 41 to give them the proper value. (Rich Hill draft chart) Its no guranatee the Jets would even want that if they have their heart set on a certain player like Rome Odunze (WR) as a weapon for Rodgers. We give up way too much value to move up 15 spots to try to snag Mitchell and I think it would be difficult to find a team that high on the board willing to give us their 1st round spot to move up to Pick 10 or higher. If we had Pick 12 or 13 we would have an easier time swapping picks to move up to grab the Jets 10 slot. At Pick 25 its way too much of a reach. I don't see Gute doing this. Peter has it right! We are better off getting the best OT left on the board at Pick 25. Then focusing on Edgerrin Cooper in Round 2 and then a 3rd Round Safety. Our team has too many needs to give up so much draft capital for Mitchell.

Javon Bullard played 726 career snaps, including 510 in 2022. Javon Bullard would be a very good chess piece for Jeff Halfley’s defense with his ability to line up in the nickel and handle deep safety responsibilities. Javon Bullard has been a sound tackler and allowed a completion rate of just 8.9 yards per attempt with 2 interceptions and 5 pass breakups from the slot in 2022. Javon Bullard’s height is 5-10, his weight is 198, his RAS is 8.24, and the Consensus Board ranks him 54 overall. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

This draft is tough because the holes the packers have arnt huge and well be trying to replace players who are young and still developing themselves who havent been total busts yet

Why not keep Tom at tackle. Draft CB round 1, then grab Center in round 2 and swing tackle/guards the rest of the draft?

Not wild about Guyton in the first round because I don't think they need a tackle that early. I would love getting LB and safety both addressed in the 2nd round though, and I also love the 3rd round RB. Odd that this year I'm more interested in their second round picks than in their first round pick.

With Josiah Deguara gone why wouldn't the Packers have AJ Dillon transition to a more traditional-ish fullback role where his weaknesses as a runner would be negligible in the role (lack of explosiveness, balance, and higher running style).

I’d like to walk away with either dejean, Barton, guyton or mims in R1. R2-3 I would love max melton, Jaden hicks or edgerrin cooper. Trade up or down to get your guys, and will have to see how the board falls

4:48 if you truly believe this Zach Tom position switch stuff then you’re a fool. Let’s say the packers use their first round pick to draft the 6th or 7th best tackle in this year’s draft and let’s say this rookie tackle isn’t ready to contribute as a starter this year. How do you handle Zach Tom’s contract? Do you try convincing Tom that even though hes played tackle for three years, he should be payed like a center? Do you change his position to center but pay him top of the market tackle money? Or do you force a Zach Tom move to center immediately and force the rookie tackle to start no matter if they’re read or not in order to gain leverage the following year in negotiations wi the Tom? If you try moving Tom to center you open a can of worms and this whole thing gets messy. If we tried this bull**** he’s going to be playing on another team in two seasons. If Tom decided to play tackle elsewhere to maximize his earning I wouldn’t blame him one bit.

No perfecion outside Heaven. But ... perfection is raising this upward enterprise in this coming year, but more in the next two to three. Packers don't need a whole lot, to be honest. We have NO idea about our D, except being very confident about our personnel and the new Coach has tools and a YOUNG approach.

One thing NONE of u podcast guys ever think of is what guys on the roster are gonna make that jump to greatness at a given position. Saying our LB room "stinks" I think is premature at best. New defensive coach, mew system, you have NO idea what may rise in these players already on the roster. Sure, guessing is fun but I'm so glad none of the "RU-vidrs" are in charge of this team. R-E-L-A-X, we got this. Anyway, I for one can't wait for this draft to be over and the speculation put to rest. When Gutey drafts a 1st rounder on nobody's mock board I'll be like, "yup, makes sense."

You absolutely killed this, I think Wright and Guyton could be absolute steals. I do have concerns with the interior depth of the Oline even if Tom is moved to center. I don't think Meyers or Royce Newman should ever be on the football field, so at 58 if we take an interior lineman instead of Bullard and then hope and pray Cole Bishop falls to 91 I think it's a home run.

I’m liking dejean or Barton in rd 1…. I love the versatility those two men have at their respective positions!!! Cooper can play ANYWHERE in the secondary and Barton can play ALL 5 POSITIONS on the OL!!! How can you top that?? And both can do so at a pro bowl level imo!!!

My prediction is Packers trade #25 & #58 to Jacksonville for #17 & #96 and draft Mims. Jumping ahead of the Bengals at #18 is the key, otherwise they will draft Mims. This would be a Gute-style transaction because GB is moving around but not losing any picks, still retain their earlier second round pick, plus best of all getting the first pick on day 3 (which is what pick #96 is) would be a really desirable position for them to land. Let's do it! 😂🎉

As far as will and Mike goes for quay we don't really have a clue what the packers plan for him in this new defense. But he can play both. McDuffie in my opinion is our mike while quay will be the will. But I expect quay to get the green dot and be the captain on defense.

I'm a massive fan of dejean. But..I don't think we should trade up for him. Valentine has proven he can hold his own. And now that we have Xavier it frees up our corners and allows them to make a few more missteps and won't get torched . If jaire can stay healthy we will be fine where we stand currently. So I don't think trading up for dejean is worth it. I truly believe if we are trading up we might as well try to get terrion. And if we don't trade up we could land kool-aid. Who I think might end up being the best of this 1st tier guys anyway.

It’s crazy how we can all see things differently from the same tape. Guyton’s hand placement is horrible, he often misses his target and does stay latched to his opponent because of that. At senior bowl he got schooled in the one on ones because of it, the tape is all over RU-vid to be seen. I agree he has the movement skills, for his size it’s awesome but the rest of his game is not. They brought Guyton and Mims for a visit, if I had a choice it would be Mims by a mile.

Safe to say none of us are in gb's scouting room. Plus we dont know how the board falls once gb turn to select. Predicting what gb does this draft is impossible. There is nothing wrong with talking about the possibilities. Since youre the expert tell us what position gb goes with their first 3 picks. Dont even have to get names right, just positions. @@rlh5870 Stokes might not come back?Come back to what?Hes at full strength as we speak,Jaire is only two yrs into his extension as well as full strength.U can go on to their links to watch their vigorous workouts running and covering WR at full speed.Nixon is our slot just got extended and paid as our starting slot.Valentine isn’t going anywhere.We will get a couple guys but not early.U only have a couple spots available on the 53 as a corner .That’s not A PRESSING NEED.They aren’t going to pick high for someone to sit behind our starters..Third round I can see them going db to sit a year or two.
